  1. to those who think Sikhi can be simplified into one set of Aarths and one Maryada are mistaken. if one refers to Bhagat Kabir, one must also understand the myriad religious beliefs of each and all the Bhagats which are at odds to "modern day Sikhi". should sikhs go around to hindus and muslims calling vedas and quran false? i doubt it. there are those who believe that taking from Guru ji the message of pluralism, connection and oneness "contradicts" the message of a distinct Panth - this is short-sighted. yes our Guru is Guru Granth Sahib Ji and yes we do not follow the scripture of other faiths. our Panth is Unique and Distinct.. but maybe not in the way we currently perceive it.. Gurbani is the Ocean of Amrit - it is naturally separate from the land and mud without seeking to be, it cannot be drunk through the narrow straw of the elephant mind, fighting the tides wont help as they are too strong so it must be embraced wherever the sea takes you. . Guru ji reveals to us a new truth each day - what we know we cling to, to prevent ourselves from being completely immersed but only the Divine has the complete answer to the riddle.
  2. No..the choice is clear - either Giani Thakur Singh Ji is Panthic OR Panthic.org newspaper.. just a few recent biased articles: http://www.panthic.org/news/125/ARTICLE/2195/2006-01-22.html http://www.panthic.org/news/0/ARTICLE/1245/2005-04-17.html http://www.panthic.org/news/0/ARTICLE/1615/2005-07-31.html http://www.panthic.org/news/125/ARTICLE/2784/2006-10-05.html http://www.panthic.org/news/132/ARTICLE/2124/2006-01-01.html http://www.panthic.org/news/125/ARTICLE/3933/2008-03-06.html http://www.panthic.org/news/125/ARTICLE/2632/2006-07-16.html Sangat may not be aware of this but the vast majority of the major sikhi websites are run by akhand kirtani jatha affiliated webmasters e.g. panthic.org, discoversikhi.com, tapoban.org, sikhitothemax.com, sevatothemax.com, akj.org, sikhsoul.com, etc etc the list is longer than you think !! this negative smear campaign against Taksal is one of the results of this. either Giani Ji, who has regularly done sangat of Sant Jarnail Singh, Baba Thakur Singh, Baba Kartar Singh and many other Mahpursh, who has spent his whole life learning and studying the meanings of Gurbani and doing parchaar openly in public is Panthic or a bunch of internet bafoons running a hack "news website" who hide behind aliases. i leave this open for Sangat to decide - WHO DO YOU BELIEVE? please reply personally i say: Giani Thakur Singh - Panthic Unpanthic.org news and all affiliated websites - UNPANTHICTOTHEMAX.COM
  3. The guy who pulls a U-turn quicker than a New York Taxi Driver - Darshan Sinh and ggsacademy.com wants his videos on youtube which were removed to be reinstated - what say you? Youtube_notice.pdf
  4. khalsaa jee these terms of terrorist & extremist are just pure politics.. mere game playing with the aim of getting Sikhs to fight other Sikhs. everyone knows the only way to make a Movement fail is to turn the fighters in on themselves & fight each other. if there is Bhaichara, there is Dharam, where there is Dharam we unite, when we unite the whole world will shake. Bhai Talwinder Singh did something NOBODY on this forum is capable of doing.. he died for his Dharam, his belief in Guru Sahib. that single action NOBODY on this forum can do. we can do nindiyaa of why he did it but we can't equal it which proves our own inadequacy as Sikhs. he gave everything for the Panth until all he had left was his body so he gave that too. the term extremist is relativist, it is a search with no end with the aim of creating mediocrity. do you want to be a Sikh or an average person with a mediocre life? Nelson Mandela was called a terrorist, an extremist & everything else under the sun by entire Governments for decades and was put in prison for years for this. After he was released, he was made leader of new south africa and given a Nobel Peace Prize for the same reason he was called a terrorist. not for a different reason, he was given the peace prize for the EXACT same reason. khalsa jee, if the western world tell us the identity our Gurus have given us makes us look like extremists are we going to listen to them and become manmukhs? there will ALWAYS be extremes, Dharam is an extreme & i'm proud to be this kind of extremist. How many people have the Crusaders killed in history? How many people got killed as a result of Abraham Lincoln? How many people get killed as a result of the foreign policies of western governments? more or less than at the hands of Shaheed Bhai Talwinder Singh? if more, then they are bigger extremists, bigger terrorists. they put everyone to shame in the numbers they have killed in their bloodlust. lots of people die but only Gurujee's pyare gave their lives for their faith. we are nowhere near the level of being able to give everything for the Panth.. So lets start with the basics: can we fit 5 minuites of naam simran in our day? can we fit 5 minuites of sewa in our day? can we fit 5 minuites of doing sangat with gursikhs in our day? and lets focus on building OUR jeevans and lets build a Panth from there. peace
  5. Veerji you don't know your history. Gandhi wanted a united India and didn't want Pakistan to be created - he fought tooth and nail to prevent Pakistan ever being created. It was Muslim League who knew Pakistan was the only solution because they knew the Hindus would never give them equal rights in India. Gandhi even offered Jinnah the Kursi of being first President of India and still he refused it because he knew Gandhi and the Hindu community were lieing to them. Muslim League and British both said the creation of Khalistan in 1947 could take place and they would enable it but us Sikhs ourselves chose not to because we believed Gandhi. How wrong we were! British carved out Pakistan not because of Muslims who only wanted to protect their own rights but because of the treachery of the lieing two-faced untrustworthy Gandhi. Jarnailaa the trustworthyness of Gandhi's vision of India was shown in 1947 when Punjab was split and countless of your brothers & sisters lost their lives. the Consititution of India was formed in the 1950s and Sikhs refused to sign it because Sikhs were not given equal status to Hindus. Our religion was not even recognised as a faith! Then when all other States were created along language lines and Sikhs were ignored, Sikhs again fought the Punjabi Suba movement to get our rights and our language recognised. Jarnailaa again many of your brothers and sisters lost their lives in this movement. Jarnailaa many of your brothers and sisters again died in 1978 when the Government-supported Narakhdharis and Police shot down 13 Sikhs. Jarnailaa live up to your name - Jarnail.. Singh.. Khalsa.. Someone with your name does not look right putting his beard under the shoe of Indian Sarkaar. Regarding creation of Khalistan, boundaries, economy, who will rule, how we will rule... We are neither for nor against Khalistan - we only ask for our human rights as Sikhs. It isn't written anywhere that from the beginning to the end of time that Sikhs should answer whether we want Khalistan. We answered it by spending the past 60-odd years as Slaves - isn't that enough? the foundations of Khalistan were dug in 1984 and filled with the blood of our Shaheeds. Those foundations are stronger than you can possibly fathom.. it's possible Khalistan will stretch from Delhi to New York even.. who knows? nobody does - all that matters is Sikhs want their rights, and 60-odd years of Slavery is too much to bear and the GOVERNMENT OF INDIA ahould answer this question of whether they will give us our rights or give us Khalistan.
  6. Sellouts to those who have hatred for our community: our community will always have gadhaars in it until the day of Khalsa Raj. best not to let these people make fame & fortune out of causing problems for the Panth. these people make money out of breaking up social cohesion and being divisive. it's the old british divide and rule policy. the Panth should remain as one and realise there are NO extremists. nelson mandela was called a terrorist by the white south african society for decades and now he is getting a nobel peace prize for the very same reason he was called a terrorist. it's best to react peacefully through debate and logic rather than prove everything they are saying. their aim is to instigate a response to justify their labelling. let them call people terrorists and extremists, if merely being sikh means i'm a terrorist i'm not only proud to be one but encourage everyone else to be one too. there is nothing against any law with peacefully campaigning for greater human rights for sikhs in india or in western countries. their aim is scare people away from genuine peaceful political opposition. there are no people with guns anymore. its the aim of these Punjab Police Chelay to find one innocent person in a whole community of 2 million, kill him, stick a gun in his hands, print the photos in the newspapers and use it as an excuse to give THEIR Punjab Police, THEIR Para-Military Groups, THEIR State-sponsored terrorists extra funding, ammunition and weapons to kill yet more innocent Sikhs. These people have the gall to call US terrorists and India a democracy? register your complaints to the BBC & OFCOM

  8. Firstly brother i ask mods to change title of topic to "Question About Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale" because when you refer to someone who has a hugely better jeevan than yourself then you can call them Sant or Khalsa or at the least JI. secondly he never called himself any of those unlike the person who has started this topic but instead focused on earning them. to call yourself something is easy, but to live up to that is very difficult hence Sant Jarnail Singh Ji was Kehni & Karni de pooray. thirdly, if you want to understand how Sant Jarnail Singh Ji thinks and his actions then there are 2 ways: a) listen to his speeches or Gurbani Katha b) follow his jeevan - do 100+japji sahib paaths per day, become leader of taksaal, go on just you try n learn what the word nimmartaa means. fourthly, how can a person sat in the warmth and comfort of modern day building, with our air conditioned butts understand the kind of responsibilities that come with having an entire Qaum relying on YOU for all their serious problems. if an entire Government, with all their military, police, security and intelligence agencies were doing everything inside your community to undermine you - what could YOU have done. we dont try and put ourselves in someone else's shoes instead we criticise. fifthly, this isnt about 1984 - singhs were being killed in 1978, singhs were killed before in punjabi suba movement, singhs have been gettng killed ever since 1947 because we're different and the State wants us to become exactly the same as the majority population. sixthly give me a single recording of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji saying i advocate Khalistan. he doesnt say that, he instead says give us Justice, give us equal rights or give us another country but it is for the State to decide which. if he were guilty of ANY crime then the State arrested him many times and acquitted him becuase he was innocent of the crimes they alleged him to have committed. he didnt kill anyone himself or give any written orders to kill anyone but this was a time when the Sikh community was under attack everyday he told the Singhs that if Justice failed, if the State failed to provide Policing and Justice and the Rule of Law then the Singhs have and always will have every right to defend themselves. "A physical death I do not fear, A death of conscience is a sure death" "Freedom from slavery is achieved only when a person starts to feel and understand that he would prefer death to life as a slave." Sant Ji 20/9/1983 excerpts from dharam yudh morcha speeches available from: http://www.allaboutsikhs.com/index.php?opt...iew&id=1647
  9. connections between sikhi and sanatan dharma? an interesting read: http://moralstories.wordpress.com/2006/05/...iva-and-vishnu/ is it right to say sanatan dharma is broader than sanatan sikhi? despite the connections to sufi islam sikhi has? is it possible for sikhi to be both dharmic and semitic? could sikhi be meant to open a window into both forms of faith? Brahma is the divine Word, which determines true Knowledge (Dharma); Shiva is the interpreter of divine Meaning, which determines true Action (Arth); Vishnu is the divine Form, which determines true Will or Desire (Kama); and the eternal bliss (Shanta) of Moksha, which arises when all three are successfully united, is Trimurti. is there a link as claimed by some between Shiva's trishul, the khanda and the adi chand? No faith can but be identical with Sanatana Dharma. The Sikh Gurus are "not Hindu" in the sense that they explicitly deny the absolute authority of the Vedas, and place their faith in Guru Granth Sahib. The Sikhs are a kind of specialized Hindu community. They are essentially Kshatriya, and as such have always been close to some of the greatest Gurus of Sanatana Dharma. sanatan dharma is a huge ancient cartwheel, (as shown on the indian flag) with an enormous number of long spokes; whereas Sikhism is an innovative discus, trimmed down for speed and efficiency ~ like the shining wheel of a speedy military chariot ~ and since the construction is entirely of noble materials, it glides along just above the ground. Perhaps the most impressive part of this religious contraption is the fact that it has been armour-plated for eternal safety ~ so that stray shafts wielded by anyone foolish enough to attempt interfering with the device should be easily deflected. The problem, often mentioned, of Priests twisting the truth over time to suit their own purposes, has been solved by the quite miraculous composition of the Guru Granth Sahib. The Sikh Guru is fixed in brilliant pages filled with all the best Truths from many of the best Gurus (whatever their origins); and the spokes of Sikhism have been covered by this bulletproof sheeting. In effect, the Sikh Dharma is a shield ~ like a boss in the heart of Sanatana Dharma. what are the similarities & differences between the Marhatta army and the Nihangs? from the very little info i've come across they appear very similar. both have links to sanatan dharma. also the marhattas used muslim generals in their army and had good links with sufi muslims. the story of Shivaji doing puja of Bhavani (Durga) and being given a sword to fight sounds very similar to a story about Guru Gobind Singh ji and the background of chandi di war. but if the 2 armies were so similar why did they not fight as one - what ideological distinctions were there? the Gurus, Panj Piaarey, Bhagats, etc. were all against caste discrimination and the end result was for all to merge in gurbani or all to merge in the khalsa. yet all the above were avtaars - why did they themselves manifest themselves in the same caste as previous lives? is this not God's Play? some info.advice from sanatan sikhs would be appreciated..
  10. if people are gonna call Giani Thakur Singh an RSS agent then he's the sort of agent we all need to become. may God bless us many more! i can't believe people would try to score mileage out of someone's attendance at a FUNERAL. if you read following 2 news articles sant jarnail singh used to get simultaneously get called a Congress Government Agent and a ISI/Pakistan Government Agent: http://www.allaboutsikhs.com/sikh-history/...s-speech-3.html http://www.rediff.com/news/2003/jun/16sikh.htm so we know how reliable these news sites are. doing nindiaa of another group of sikhs just shows your own insecurities and hatred. UNPANTHIC.org enjoy making scapegoats out of Damdami Taksal and doing nindiaa. here are a few examples: http://www.panthic.org/news/125/ARTICLE/1815/2005-09-25.html http://www.panthic.org/news/125/ARTICLE/1687/2005-08-21.html http://www.panthic.org/news/125/ARTICLE/2195/2006-01-22.html http://www.panthic.org/news/125/ARTICLE/2155/2006-01-08.html http://www.panthic.org/news/131/ARTICLE/1737/2005-09-04.html http://www.panthic.org/news/125/ARTICLE/2245/2006-02-12.html W!N waheguroo network are clearly run by akj sewadars so that goes for the khalsa alliance, unpanthic news website as well as disscovasikhi forum which has akj mods. tapoban is a much better site and bhai kulbir singh makes his points in a logical way without the need to do nindiaa of or siilence other groups of sikhs. personally i prefer visiting websites that don't need to stoop as low as doing nindiaa of gursikhs to create Controversy and make people visit their websites.
  11. Prem too has done his fair share of name-calling in this topic: Jihadi, gutless cowards, macho blowhard, ape Islamists, fascists, Hooligans, etc. if everyone else is "extremist" then here's the antonym for you: cautious, insignificant, mediocre, moderate, middle-of-the-road, conventional, conformist, unadventurous and old-fashioned your belief is that if someone in a position of responsibility or duty still disrespects Gurbani or cannot follow basic Gurmat and is criticised for it then it is the latter that is the "extremist" and you have nothing to say about the former. that seems like a case of Myopia. Love and Responsibility come hand in hand and those who take up important roles in our community are accountable to both the Guru and Sangat they serve.
  12. I just simply stated the truth. Every time there is a need to stand up for a cause (like the whole Sikh girl converting issue) and fight back, it is usually the monay/ Sehajdhari doing the seva while amritdharis are nowhere to be found. actually bruv u dont kno wat u are talking about, cus i kno alot of amrithari sikhs that are very active on this issue and deal with this and other issues all the tym. to be honest, nearly all the ppl i kno that are involved in these kind of activities are are amrithari and keshthari, hardly any money. im not sayin sehejthari sikhs arent active on this issue cus obviously u are sayin u are but as for u sayin amritharis do not do anything bruv that is not true. No, you don\'t know what you are talking about. It was crews like \"Shere-E-Punjab\" that were active about the issue. They\'re bunch of monay. Amritdharis and Keshdhari did nothing speical. That is one example. Come to Canada, you will see that people don\'t mess with sikhs because monay/sehajdharis not because of you amritdharis and keshdharis. bro most of the UK sangat that know of the SherePunjab gang know it was started by an Amritdhari to deal with the problem of muslim gangs targetting our community. it did a lot of good work while he was running it. then the gang was dismantled. some of the crew that remained was regrouped by his sehajdhari brother and ever since then it has completely stopped dealing with the muslim issue and is instead doing the tiotal opposite by working with muslim gangs to deal drugs throughout the UK. bro the truth is there is no problem between gursikhs and sehajdharis there is only a problem of not listening to and following our Guru.
  13. It looks like culture is winning the battle so far. No offense of course. none taken brother. Guru Nanak told us we are in Kalyug so that is expected. Let's look at these aspects of Punjabi culture and see what Guru ji says: drinking excessively http://sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?SourceID=G&pageno=554 slok mÚ 3 ] salok ma 3 || Salok, Third Mehla: mwxsu BirAw AwixAw mwxsu BirAw Awie ] maanas bhariaa aaniaa maanas bhariaa aae || One person brings a full bottle, and another fills his cup. ijqu pIqY miq dUir hoie brlu pvY ivic Awie ] jith peethai math dhoor hoe baral pavai vich aae || Drinking the wine, his intelligence departs, and madness enters his mind; Awpxw prwieAw n pCwxeI Ksmhu Dky Kwie ] aapanaa paraaeiaa n pashhaanee khasamahu dhhakae khaae || he cannot distinguish between his own and others, and he is struck down by his Lord and Master. ijqu pIqY Ksmu ivsrY drgh imlY sjwie ] jith peethai khasam visarai dharageh milai sajaae || Drinking it, he forgets his Lord and Master, and he is punished in the Court of the Lord. 14. Let's not get into personal attacks and mind our language please. In Punjab, just like other places many Sikhs are still influenced by Punjabi culture and doing things contrary to Sikhi. Many Western Sikhs following Sikhi have better followed the notion of Equality and we should look to the good example set and follow it. Regarding Castes - brother Gurbani teaches not to take pride in our castes and to reject them. Bhagat Ravi Das was of cobbler descent, Bhagat Dhanna was a Farmer. Bhagat Kabir was born into the Weaver caste. Bhagat Pipa was born a King. Bhagat Fareed was born a Muslim. Yet all through true prayer and improving their Jeevan embraced Waheguru. So much so that they contributed to the beauty of Dhan Dhan Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Brother, the double standards are not in Sikhi but Punjabi culture. In Punjab it was part of culture to throw the wife on her deceased husband's funeral pyre was it not? Guru Sahib spoke out against this. Now in Punjab, it is part of culture that families are killing female babies in the womb. Female infanticide was common during Guru Sahib's time too and they spoke against this. This is all against Sikhi. Sri Guru Granth Sahib tells us: "We are born of woman, we are conceived in the womb of woman, we are engaged and married to woman. We make friendship with woman and the lineage continued because of woman. When one woman dies, we take another one, we are bound with the world through woman. Why should we talk ill of her, who gives birth to kings? The woman is born from woman; there is none without her. Only the One True Lord is without woman" (Guru Nanak Dev, // Asa, pg. 473) Marriage is an equal partnership of love and sharing between husband and wife. "They are not said to be husband and wife, who merely sit together. Rather they alone are called husband and wife, who have one soul in two bodies." (Guru Amar Das, Pauri, pg. 788) Women have an equal right to participate in the congregation. "Come my sisters and dear comrades! Clasp me in thine embrace. Meeting together, let us tell the tales of our Omnipotent Spouse (God). In the True Lord are all merits, in us all demerits." (Guru Nanak Dev, Sri Rag, pg. 17) God is the husband and we are all his brides. "The spouse is but One and all others are His brides. The false bride assumes many religious garbs. When the Lord stops her going into another's home, then is she summoned into her Lord's mansion without any let and hindrance. She is adorned with the Name and is dear to her True Lord. She alone is the true bride and the Lord lends her His support." (Guru Nanak Dev, Ramkali, pg. 933) God is our Mother as well as our Father. "Thou O Lord, art my Father and Thou my Mother. Thou art the Giver of peace to my soul and very life." (Guru Arjan Dev, Bhairo, pg. 1144) Faithfulness to ones spouse is stressed. It is part of culture to have extra-marital affairs, this too is condemned in Sikhi "The blind-man abandons the wife of his home, and has an affair with another's woman. He is like the parrot, who is pleased to see the simbal tree, but at last dies clinging to it." (Bhagat Nam Dev, Bhairo, pg. 1165) The rape and brutalities committed against women by the Mughal invader Babar is condemned. "Modesty and righteousness both have vanished and falsehood moves about as the leader, O Lalo. The function of the Qazis and the Brahmins is over and the Satan now reads the marriage rites (rape). The Muslim women read the Quran and in suffering call upon God, O Lalo. The Hindu women of high cast and others of low caste, may also be put in the same account, O Lalo." (Guru Nanak Dev, Tilang, pg. 722) The practice of women burning themselves on their husband's funeral pyre (sati) in Punjabi culture is condemned. "They cannot be called satis, who burn themselves with their dead husbands. They can only be called satis, if they bear the shock of separation. They may also be known as satis, who live with character and contentment and always show veneration to their husbands by remembering them." (Guru Amar Das, // Suhi, pg. 787) The ritual of dowry so prevalent in Punjabi culture is condemned. "Any other dowry, which the perverse place for show, that is false pride and worthless gilding. O' my Father! give me the Name of Lord God as a gift and dowry." (Guru Ram Das, Sri Rag, pg. 79) Brother it is part of Punjabi culture to drink excessively, consume drugs, go around Punjab we can all see for ourselves. The question is will we let Guru ji into our hearts or this culture?
  15. BJP - political group of RSS suprisingly love him as their symbol of hindutva: http://www.bjp.org/today/jan_0206/jan02_p_34.htm he attends RSS conferences on stage with the RSS leader and has been photographed ... nooooooo of course he has no links to the RSS
  16. Photographed on-stage at a recent RSS convention with Sudarshan the RSS leader. Known RSS supporters have no place on stage at Gurudwara Karamsar as only amritdharis should be allowed. Furthermore nobody let alone RSS members should sit on the stage and speak over Gurbani being recited from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
  17. bump can any1 please advise- add some info on the topic?
