  1. I will admit that calling it "playing" was not the best term, I apologize. But did I personally do Nindak of you or anyone else? There is a respectful way to state your opinion rather than being an "internet warrior", I was just stating a fact, I personally believe the Khalsa should train with all the weapons in the world, but let's say your Kirpan for some reason falls to the floor,(it's no longer on you, so technically you would have to be forgiven for that). I also approve of not dropping the Kangha on the floor.
  2. I think Khalistan would most likely be a libertarian society, because Sikhs have always stood for righteousness. I personally don't think it should be a democracy because that's not how Punjabi people think, they want a more free government. Instead of a government which will kill you and scar your community for 30 years.
  3. I'll just admit that before Basics Of Sikhi was there,I knew very little about Sikhi, if there is no Prachar, then the minority will become Atheists, so I don't recommend having lots of kids to support Sikhi. Nor do I personally believe that no one is born a Sikh.
  4. When Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699 created Khand Di Pahul, he said that his sword needed blood, his blade got a bit bloodier each time and finally when the Kirpan was full with blood, he created Khand Di Pahul di Amrit. Also he brought the Punj Pyare back to life(resurectiom). Also if someone wants to train with shastars, they should most likely get a gun because it's more practical and can fire from a far distance, but I don't know the situation in other countries,(I live in America)
  5. 3HO is a lost cause, the ones who leave are usually at risk of death by the cult.
  6. The khoon part is true, Guru Hargobind always had to Kirpans, one Miri and the other Piri. In one battle, his Miri sword broke, and he decided to fight with his hands and not the sword of Piri. But, understand that shastars are not toys, and if you wish to train with a Kirpan: please train with another one than what your Kakkar is. Would you play with your Keshas,Kangha, Kachera, or Kara? I recommend you buy some of these,(not my shop) http://www.budk.com/mobile/custserv/custserv.jsp?pageName=category2883
  7. This person mentions that women shouldn't be aloud to stay out late at night. And no boyfriends, I would like to say that it's only to protect you, a Christian who really loved and cared for his or her daughter would tell a couple to "bring her back [at a certain time]," this isn't a religious issue. Also to the no boyfriends, I would ask, "Why do you need a boyfriend?" I'll be honest and say if you have no plans on marrying that person, don't date them, if you can go ahead. I'm sure everybody has had someone who they feel a connection with, but in reality, if Vaheguru wants you 2 to be together, he would've just made a special situation for you to date. (I support the courting system of dating, because the family is out there for you),
  8. This woman should understand that it's not just females that have to grow their hair long, this is a false issue.
  9. This topic got real popular real fast, I just wanted to say that talking about the issue doesn't do anything, we have to find solutions as a Panth of saviors of humanity instead of arguing if it was their fault, "All it takes for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing," Its good that this is being discussed, now let us as a Panth move forward and try resolving this issue, because if we want Guru Sahib to be happy we should do instead of think and do nothing. Just my sentiment.
  10. This topic could be reversed and say something like this:"Why non-Sikh Women marry or Date Sikh men?" Has anyone thought about that?
  11. "First Mehl:Look, and see how the sugar-cane is cut down. After cutting away its branches, its feet are bound together into bundles, and then, it is placed between the wooden rollers and crushed. What punishment is inflicted upon it! Its juice is extracted and placed in the cauldron; as it is heated, it groans and cries out. And then, the crushed cane is collected and burnt in the fire below. Nanak: come, people, and see how the sweet sugar-cane is treated!" Ang 143. But really this is going of topic, and I won't argue anymore on vegetarianism, because that's not the issue of this topic, you have your way of thinking and I have mine. Vaheguru bless you!
  12. He mentioned eating meat was bad, but seriously, I do agree that they should have a civil wedding.
  13. "The fools argue about flesh and meat, but they know nothing about meditation and spiritual wisdom. What is called meat, and what is called green vegetables? What leads to sin? It was the habit of the gods to kill the rhinoceros, and make a feast of the burnt offering. Those who renounce meat, and hold their noses when sitting near it, devour men at night. They practice hypocrisy, and make a show before other people, but they do not understand anything about meditation or spiritual wisdom. O Nanak, what can be said to the blind people? They cannot answer, or even understand what is said. They alone are blind, who act blindly. They have no eyes in their hearts. They are produced from the blood of their mothers and fathers, but they do not eat fish or meat." Ang 1289, Meat is not bad for you.
  14. This video is much simpler as to why it's wrong:http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=0vxjxz7zfsw if he doesn't know about Sikhi, I recommend the WhyGuru playlist on Basics of Sikhi.
  15. I do believe it is best for you 2 to have a court marriage, because when you get an Anand Karaj, you promise that Guru Granth Sahib is the center of your life: how would you do that as a Christian, or how would he do that as a "liberal" Sikh? Did you watch the video?
  16. This video explains it: Also since you're a Christian, the Bible says something about being unevenly yoked,of course you could just become a Sikh. Interfaith marriages only cause confusion, both of you should accept Christianity or Sikhi, it's much easier that way.
  17. I don't feel comfortable with the second choice either, a half-clothed woman?
  18. There are other ways to show love than marrying others: You should love everyone, does that mean you should marry everyone? No. Guru Sahib loved everyone, he married not everyone- but a few people.
  19. I most likely wouldn't feel comfortable being hugged by an inanimate object.
