  1. Audio Video The video is really good. Quite liked the song but then read that Bullah Shah was not ummm... "pleased" that Guru Gobind Singh Ji had prevented Islam from being forced upon everyone. So my conclusion, stick to Gurbani! (maybe I shouldn't have put links up then?!) dhur kee baanee aaee The Bani of His Word emanated from the Primal Lord. thin sugulee chinth mittaaee It eradicates all anxiety.
  2. By the way, they have Vaisakhi special till end of April £70 subscription for a year. Note, I don't work for Alpha. The Chardi Kala Jatha was doing kirtan seva this morning - too good...
  3. That's so funny! true, never say ur from blait! Say Chandigarh, coz that is sort of believable. I had alot of shoving at Darbar Sahib to the point I thought I was gonna fall but then all of a sudden no one around me - was amazing experience. Tell us more about ur trip...
  4. lol, I thought the question was a riddle! I think the STTM translation is clearer: When someone dies, the five passions meet and mourn his death "when one dies" means when SOMEBODY dies, not when one of the 5 chor

  6. hilarious thread - K panji, that's just mad! AA is rubbish. First AA Instructor turned up at the house out of the blue (I was out) and persuaded my folks that I had booked a lesson and stiched him up? So I said I want another instructor. Next one from Jamaica (still AA) made me sit in the car turning a round tray (one of those flowery things you serve drinks on) to practice using a steering wheel? 3rd instructor was great though! - a private gora guy my cousin recommeded. Advice: go with recommendations and once you've had few lessons try and drive the family car as much a poss
  7. At long last Shabad Gurbani and Gyan da sagar are back on alpha punjabi @ 8am and 8.30am. This morning there was AKJ Kirtan... I'm real impressed that Shabad Gurbani programmme has english translation subtitles - good stuff
  8. I once heard a similar thing in katha where a comparision is made of deceiving people who try to be so cunning and take advantage of other people. But no one can outwit Waheguru who is the all knower.

Well at least you coughed to it Pakandi Baba. Must say, feel bit left out that I wasn't added to your list.
  11. Ummmm, good to educate that Sikhs ain't Muslim, but I was kind of hoping the Sikh man was gonna do some damage to the boys. On a side note, does this mean that only Black americans know who Sikhs are? did you see that other film, where about 10 people were interviewed and the only one to recognise the Sikh was a Nigerian...
  12. I thought the never forget 84 posters on Ealing borough headed paper was great - never knew Ealing council was so attuned to Sikh issues  @ There was another poster which had 84 shaheeds pictures on top of a Star Plus poster. For a minute I really thought, wow, Star is gonna show a documentary about the atrocities the Indian govt committed.
  13. I think it's a real tough one. True, nowdays people don't bring up kids right but I know of a real nice family with high morals and everything, but their kid is having similar "mental" or "dysfunctional" problems. I think it's a real difficult situation to deal with - people don't know what to do. But, I'm a bit dubious about this case, seems bit extreme - from talking to himself to commiting arson. I hope the huge consequencesof his actions aren't ignored, he needs to understand what he has done and in some way make it up...

  23. I just heard this shabad on Alpha from Darbar Sahib. Bhai Rama Singh's autobiography tells about how saddened they felt at the treatment of the Ox - the farmer will treat it really bad. We fare a similar fate if we don't endeavour to live a Gursikh lifestyle. But the cow is revered right so what does a cow stand for in this shabad? This Shabad is by Bhagat Kabeer Ji in Raag Basant on Pannaa 1196 basa(n)th kabeer jeeou Basant, KabeerJee: ik oa(n)kaar sathigur prasaadh || One Universal Creator God.
