  1. Wow, did anyone notice how in the SECOND picture someone is doing CHAUR SAHIB to Kalgidhar Patshah... WOWWWWWWWWWW!!!! Further proof that Maharaj "aap Nirankar sigeh."
  2. Everyone at Nanaksar sleeps on the floor (no matter which one you go to - but that's another story.) I would suggest that you make sure Maharaj's setting is perfect before following your usual sleeping arrangement. Btw, great post... it's a blessing to see how you believe that Maharaj's sanctuary is something that shouldn't ever be compromised.
  3. Uuhhh, I wouldn't worry about the Akal Thakths Maryada too much, and you should try to concentrate on the bigger picture. For example, you were fortunate enough to perform Kirtan in Maharajs hazoori which isn't something that should be taken lightly.
  4. Do a 'portion' of the proceeds really go to Jagtar Singh Hawara Ji?
  5. "Eh akri nahi, eh patri neh eh seenah hai Guru Arjan dah Darshan karo Sukhmani dah Darshan karo Guru Arjan dah" - Bhai Nand Lal Ji "These are not just letters, or simple pages They are the body of Guru Arjan Dev Ji See/Witness the writings of Sri Sukhmani Sahib See/Witness Guru Arjan Dev Ji himself!" Need we say more?
  6. It's two... One in the morning, and then one in the evening/night. Sri Rehras Sahib, Kirtan, Katha/Kirtan, Ardas, Hukumnama, Kirtan/Katha, Kirtan Sohila.
  7. Wow, great post... I've never seen those pictures before. Respect to Sant Amar Singh Ji for resurrecting the Gurdwara there. On my recent visit [back] to the UK, I went to the Thath and just as I heard a million times before my visit, there definitely is a 'special presence' at that location.
  8. Wow, I love Bhai Nand Lal Ji's Bani... his love, affection and admiration for Dasmesh Pitah is amazing, and he makes it clear a million times how Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and God were ONE... be it physical or spiritual. "Guru Gobind Singh is essence of God’s blessings; God Himself radiates through him. Those who have listened to the name of Guru Gobind Singh have received the gift of seeing God Himself." Waheguru!
  9. Wow, I love Bhai Ram Singh Ji... he has the most amazing voice. Anyway, I believe I have two or three of his shabads on my computer which I'd be happy to share. I also have a video of him talking about Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj (Nanaksar) and telling some sakhias about Baba Ji and Vade Baba Ji (Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj.) Send me a PM with your email address, and I'll forward it to you. Also, when was he in Yuba City... ahh, I never knew about this, I would've definitely made the trip out to see him. Please let me know, thanks. - H. PS: www.Sikhnet.com/Gurbani has some shabads by Bhai Sahib Ji too!
  10. Personally, I'd read about Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj and Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj (Nanaksar), because Sant Mihan Singh Ji was a loyal devotee of both of them, and basically learned everything he knew from his endless presence in their diwans.
  11. Umm, this is an interesting/debatable topic, but the objective is undeniable. If two people believe in two COMPLETELY different things, and that there is only one definitive answer, then obviously someone has to be wrong, there's no way around that. If Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh Ji and Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji BOTH read Raagmala then I don't understand why this topic needs to be discussed, because who could know Kalgidhar Patshah better than his 'best friend' (Bhai Mani Singh Ji grew up with Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj) and Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji (read his jeevan, its amazing how much he did for the Panth.) In regards to the question, if you know anything about Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj, Baba Isher Singh Ji Maharaj (Nanaksar), Baba Attar Singh Ji Maharaj you'll see how they had EXACTLY the same opinions/practices as each other. So, personally, I believe them to be PURAN Bramgyian's beyond a shadow of a doubt. Finally, the most important thing to take away from the video is that, no matter the "Dera" (be it Nanaksar, AKJ, Thaksal, 3HO, Rara Sahib, Baru Sahib etc.) they all had three common objectives... 1) Khande Bateh Da Amrit (Give your head to Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj). 2) No meat, alcohol, intoxicants. 3) And most importantly, GURU MAINO GRANTH... nothing BESIDES the Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj is our Guru. Oh well, read any of their Jeevans, and one can only be inspired to learn more and try to achieve something that they'd be proud of. Bhul Chak Maaf if I've said anything wrong. Note: Topics that are not Allowed.
  12. I find it funny how the most 'religious' people here often have the most idotic views when it comes to Sikhi. Every one of Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharajs poets/hazoori sewadhars (Bhai Nand Lal Ji, Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh Ji, Bhai Dya Singh etc.) wrote how Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself said that the Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj was NOT A BOOK... and was in fact his physical BODY (its not a book of pages, its the gurus body with each 'page' being an ANG of his own body!) So, the GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI is the Guru's body as we know. It's written clearly (read your history: suraj prakash granth for example.) We can get into it as much as you like, but don't twist HISTORY and GURU Ji's own words. If you don't see the Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj as the physical GURU... then why do you BOW-Down when no BANI is being recited? Where is the Shabad GURU then? I'll end with a simple quote by Bhai Nand Lal Ji... "Eh Akre Nahi, Eh Patre Nahi Eh Seena Hei Guru Arjan Dha"
  13. "My favourite Baba Isher Singh Ji of Nanaksar!" Waheguru! Who else but a PURAN BRAMGYANI could administer Amrit to over 750,000 people in a little over ten years. Waheguru!
  14. Hmm, this is an interesting topic. I've been blessed enough to have Maharaj present in my house since I was born, and I can't imagine life without being able to see my Guru at 'leisure' - as bad as that sounds. My father gets up at 3.30am and does Prakash and takes the Hukunama before anything (obviously after taking a shower.) We all pay our respects and do our 'little' bhagti before leaving the house in the morning, and then I do the evening Guru Sahib brajman, and Kirtan Sohila at night, during which time I place a blanket over Maharaj and make sure the temperature (etc) is right in the room. Anyway, obviously we have our own separate room, but there's certain guidelines which we follow, and although we're not in the presence of Maharaj every-second of every-day, there’s a subliminal consciousness that lets your mind be there while you're downstairs or doing whatever. Here are some simple guidelines which we (and all guests) follow... 1) A separate room is REQUIRED... 2) No meat, alcohol or any other intoxicants can enter the house at any time. 3) Before going downstairs/leaving the house, pay your respects to your Guru. 4) Before eating, wait until you've offered Maharaj your food first (bhog!) 5) Sewa HAS TO BE DONE at certain times... no flexibility, someone has to be home at a'X' time to do sewa. Umm, as for the guests... we have people come over our house just to matha-dek all the time, which is great. But, then we also have friends who dont, and that’s understandable too. Finally, lets not forget how the GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI is Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharajs body/soul (atma/sareer) and how our fifth NANAK himself used to sleep on the floor and do SEWA of Guru Ji on his bed.
  15. A serious question... Everybody keeps talking about Gurbani says this and that, but nobody cares to mention the Sakhis of Bhagat Nam Dev Ji and Bhagat Dhanna Jatt Ji who both found Nirankar through 'idol worship.' Honestly, I'm confused now.
  16. Woah, I was born and raised in Hounslow and this is the first time I'm hearing about this. - Google Search -
  17. Veera, do you agree SIKHI is against idol worship ? Talk to any ChardiKala Singh you'll knw that bowing to pictures is totally againsta SIKHI. and regarding the tuk you have posted from the shabd. I dunno from where have to got the meaning of moorat, but you have misinterpretated those verses ( i am pretty sure its unintentional). "Gur Ki Moorat" here refers to the "Gur Shabd", not the picture of Guru Ji in human form. if you read the same shabd, you'll find a line "Bhule ko gurmarg payia, avar tiyaag har bhagti laya" meaning of the verse in bolds >>> He leads them to renounce others, and attaches them to devotional worship of the Lord. the mool mantar has the word moorat in it -- "Akal Moorat" -- Image of the Undying Lord not the Guru in human form. if you look up for "moorat" in SGGS you'll understand wht context it has been used in. Bhul Chuk Maaf Of course SIKHI is against worshiping idols, come on man, we both know that. The point I'm trying to make is that when I am not at a Gurdwara I pray infront of a saroop of our Guru Jis as it means more to me than a worthless picture. My initial post said that the most important thing in the video was the sangat reciting BANI with love and admiration in the presence of Guru Nanak Dev Jis saroop.
  18. Hmm... this is VERY important. Anybody know for sure?
  19. Firstly, lets remember that our beloved Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj was NOT present in the room. Its common-sense, that nothing besides the PHYSICAL body of our Guru Jis should be praised in the presence of Maharaj, as that is our ONLY Guru... he GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI MAHARAJ! Also, there are two books which tell the story of how our NINTH GURU JI not only ALLOWED a portrait to be made of him, but also ASSISTED in the final touches of the saroop after the artist couldn't paint GURUs face (since it was adorned with light!) 1) Nama Prakash - Written 30 years after Guru Gobind Singh Ji physically left this would in 1730s-1740s. 2) Guru Suraj Parkash - This book has a longer name, but this is the condensed version. This book was written 100 years after GURU GOBIND SINGH JI physically left this would and took over twenty years to complete (its nearly 6000 pages!) Ok... those are my two sources... go to that bookstore outside of AMRITSAR and ask them for it, I forget the name... something like GURSIKH JEEVAN/ANAND? ALSO... ... this saroop/image/painting is at the following Gurdwara in BANGLADESH... http://www.allaboutsikhs.com/index.php?opt...iew&id=2815 GURUDWARA SANGAT TOLA - Bangla Bazar
  20. Woah... looks as if I hit a soft spot in some online 'militant' Singhs. Let it go already, to each his own. And for the record, do a little research, there are COUNTLESS images of our GURU Jis from their time. If we have pictures of Alexander the Great from 200 BC, you think we dont have any of our Gurus? Seriously, what was our 5th Patshah thinking when he wrote "Guru Ke Moorat, Te Maan Meh Dyian!"
