  1. Veerji, Is the audio by Bhai Kaabal Singh of the Hajoor Sahib the entire Sri Dasam Granth or only select Bani's?

  3. it's not wrong? they are physically doing the actions that they are saying, i.e, namastan (salutations/respect,etc). Jaap Sahib is a yoga in itself, for example, when you say Hai, it has a bindi on it so you are meant to say it out of your nose and breathe out a bit forcefully.
  4. This Shabad is by Bhagat Sheikh Fareed Ji in Salok Fareed Jee on Pannaa 1379 fareedhaa rottee maeree kaat(h) kee laavan maeree bhukh || Fareed, my bread is made of wood, and hunger is my appetizer. jinaa khaadhhee choparree ghanae sehanigae dhukh ||28|| Those who eat buttered bread, will suffer in terrible pain. ||28|| i don't understand the metaphor or the message behind it?
  5. The mind is like a piece of gold, it has impurities in it. But when you burn it, slowly the impurities filter out and are removed. Waheguru Jaap is just like the burning process, you are slowly getting rid of the dirt from your mind, hence why it wonders. As these thoughts are rising to the surface, you just got to let them pass and you will be left with gold. Keep at it and slowly you will find that you will be able to concentrate for longer before your mind wonders. hope this helps.
  6. Washing your feet and removing your socks is also good practice.

  8. A genuine must to listen to. http://www.gurmatveechar.com/audios/Keertan/Bhai_Balibir_Singh_%28Hazoori_Raagi%29/Bhai.Balbir.Singh--Raagmala.%28Live%29.mp3
  9. Anyone know where you can get a copy of this book, either hardcopy or online? Thank you
  10. This is true what you say, but Gurbani can be understood as a literal translation or as a metaphor. Also, red is seen as a 'karmawala' colour, so those that wear think they are 'vadbhaga,'etc. But Guru Ji says that love is the most Karmawala colour, etc.
  11. from my little understanding, Guru Ji is describing the blind, self-willed manmukhs. He's saying they choose poison over Amrit, for example, we have a choice in our actions. We can either choose to read Gurbani(Amrit) or do nindiya(poison). I'm sure i've just done a literal translation of the Gurbani and there will be many others who can explain the Tuk further and give a deeper understanding.
  12. Sant Gurbachan Singhs voice is so calming
  13. 14. Sorry no idea of any specific teachers in West midlands, but as long as they have a KRIT certificate then it's all good, that just means that they've been officially trained. check the Gurdwara or gyms, i just happened to spot a class 2 minutes away from me as it was advertised in the gym, i had no idea there would be classes so up north lol. Well anyway, hope it goes well. Oh, and often they will say to meditate on Satnam, as in when you breath in think Sat and when you breath out Nam. This is good lol, and make sure that you focus on this as then you are effectively doing Jaap whilst exercising so win-win.
  15. i personally think that for physical exercise and stamina it's very good, some of the sets are really quite enduring. but it's easy to get drawn into the 'spiritual' side of it and you should stick to Gurmat for that. i don't really know what else to say apart from try and see how it's goes. please forgive me if i've said anything offensive/wrong.
  16. http://www.youtube.com/user/Hukam1#p/u there's 3 here. http://www.g5sikhmedia.co.uk/audio/18-katha/130-bhai-sukha-singh-uk.html and many here.
  17. it only takes a day to make really and it definetely helps you to sit for longer. it's also strangely comfortable.
  18. I believe this is a picture of Baba Nand Singh Ji's Bairaagan. Here it supports itself, as the base is 'flat', does it have to be like that or can it be rounded off so that you have to 'balance' it. if it's rounded off then you have to keep more concentration on sitting straight, etc, but then again this is Baba Nans Singhs! He won't have got it wrong
  19. Thank you SO MUCH! :mushroombounce: any other info will be much appreciated
  20. Does anyone any other pictures of a Bairaagan?? i'd like to make one and looking at others may help.
