  1. there was a documentary about this done by the bbc or channel 4 i forgot which one.............doesnt matter who they are sexual predators need to be locked up for life..........it also shows their mentality plus i feel sorry for the women they marry.........they end up marrying scum like that.
  2. Propaganda = is a concerted set of messages aimed at influencing the opinions or behavior of large numbers of people dont worry ignorant people will always hate Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale BUT luckily we have places like youtube where people can see first hand what he was really like.
  3. valid points BUT 1) everybody loves money lol not just JSMs and every turbanned Singh i see is a professional these day some into IT, Doctors, Lawyers etc 2) I never met a singh (turban and FULL bread) who couldnt find a wife etc so stop generalising there are guys out their who cut and trim who also cant find anyone or cant get wife etc...........they just use it as an excuse to cut their hair. AT THE END OF THE DAY they DONT want to follow sikhi! I guess it really is as simple as this. Any ideas of why this sudden apathy has taken place? I disagree with the "everyone loves money" statement however. Js have so much pressure to have lavish weddings and visible material trapping more than the rest of Punjabi society. This trend has RECENTLY crossed over to other groups. The pressure is so strong that I'm sure you know that many people in Punjab kill themselves rather than live with the stigma of poverty. fair point BUT whats the apathy comment all about? Apathy basically means not having any strong feelings for something. Not being concerned about something. I was just saying that a sort of apathy towards Sikhism has taken place with large sections of Punjabi society. But i guess this is common to most religions these days. I know what apathy means i just thought it was being directed at me lol BUT yea ur right there are some things in our community that are simply ignored or trivialised...........I also agree with wjkk wjkf the we need to help people BUT if they dont want or refuse help its like talkin to a brick wall!

  5. valid points BUT 1) everybody loves money lol not just JSMs and every turbanned Singh i see is a professional these day some into IT, Doctors, Lawyers etc 2) I never met a singh (turban and FULL bread) who couldnt find a wife etc so stop generalising there are guys out their who cut and trim who also cant find anyone or cant get wife etc...........they just use it as an excuse to cut their hair. 6. we only have oursleves to blame at the end of the day...............we put pictures up in our homes of Gurus and also have little statues etc............key rings with khanda on them etc................why do we put khanda et al on tacky things like that...........sikhi i think can be promoted in better ways than that! actually nobody will ever know what the Gurus looked like lets focus on what they were trying to teach us than what they looked like.
  7. mona = someone who doesnt keep hair. but the term is used in a derogatory manner these days.......i cant believe it growin up i have realised that there are so many divisions in our community..............but u have to admit that in our community sikhs who dont keep hair out number the ones who do keep hair...........so why do sikhs who dont keep hair get all upset when someone points to them that sikhs are meant to keep hair (not trying to offend here, sorry if i do, i just want to know what goes through your mind if someone says that to you and if you dont keep hair)......cos it happens to me when a sikh goes why do u keep hair and when they dont (i mean not because they dont get that your supposed to keep hair but because they are amazed that someone is keepin hair in todays society, their perception i mean).
  8. yea i understand what you mean and it is frustrating watching youth mess their lives BUT at the end of the day they need to take responsibility for their own lives too..............nobody is forcing drugs etc down their throats they do it because they want to and then when they become addicted its too late they're hooked.
  9. suicide? not really sure about that.........what im trying to say is you have to ask yourself how did YOU (not just you B4ND4 but anyone) get into sikhi...........you were probably two different people before and after you get into sikhi......i mean before you got into sikhi your mentality must have been different and you probably wouldnt have liked it someone goin on about religion BUT after getting into sikhi your mentality does change...........if not sure if im getting my point across clearly BUT all im saying is sikhi cant be forced on people or you cant lecture people into sikhi just make them aware you are there for them and when they DO want to get into sikhi be their friend and support.
  10. 1) I dont think you can force men/women to keep hair they should want to keep hair because they want to. 2) you cant force sikhi on people otherwise it just reinforces their views that sikhi is i.e. extreme, they should want to come into sikhi on their own. 3) just because they arent very religious NOW doesnt mean they wont be in the future. 4) we can educate them (men/women) but not to the point where they start thinking you are hassling them e.g. just tell them that you are there for them if they need you. 5) isolation isnt the key i think they (men/women) who dont know much bout sikhi etc should be introduced to sikhs who will help them develop their sikhi etc
  11. part 2 "Nothing in life can prepare you for 1:24" :D  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJKsbma10-A...ted&search=
  12. EXCUSE THE TITLE IT ISNT CORRECT i know its wikki but stillannoyin BUT alot of peopel go on it though and it gives off the wrong impression correct spelling - HARmandir sahib NOT HARImandir sahib...........cos looky here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmandir_Sahib
  13. there must have been good number of them there (i think) but how many people altogther were there at the first amrit sanchar? because all we have to tell us is paintings......BUT its all about POLITICS! now, it wouldnt be a problem for me to see a bibi in in Punj Piarey.
  14. can a donation system be set up just like then one that was set up for the singh who needed the kidney.
  15. if you thinks its weird for a singh to be wearing a patka in his mid twenties, why cant the same be applied to bibia wearing patke wen their in ther 20's? (not saying that i agree with singhs wearing patke ) p.s) not trying to cause offence....just wonderin I get what you mean BUT i think an older singh wearin a patka is just weird init makes them look like a kid or somthing
  16. u can wear patka or dastaar whateva makes ya happy..................i just think its weird when i see a singh in his twenties wearing a patka! WHATS UP WITH THAT!
  17. I admit............the pakorai, samosas and ladoos i ate yeasterday have messed me up and im paying the price today
  18. the old bibia down my street are dangerous. Awwwwwwwwwwwwww, are you afraid of them? And you call yourself "supersingh"?!!!!! im just joking you know
  19. erm...........sikhs shouldnt be eating meat in the first place right? so this is issue is minor for vegetarians but meat eaters either need to be careful or start protesting!
  20. if your son or daughter came up to you and told you they wanted to cut their hair how would you react? do mothers and dads react differently to when their son or daughter tells them this? would you as a mother or dad support them in their decision or beat the crap out of them  (sori bad joke) this happens to many families and im just wondering what would you do?
  21. yea too many meaningless rituals the one i find funi is wen they put the yellow stuff on the groom to make him more light skinned, u got all these bibia there, putting crap on you!!!!!!! poor guy  :D
