  1. Yes that is true. But there will always be a niche of smaller stores. I think there is certain areas that online businesses may not be able to replace. But there are other reasons why High Streets are dying as well. This is to do with the extortionate rates charged by councils, expensive parking charges etc.
  2. I can see the cashless society. It definitely seems to be going in that direction.
  3. I think what has been shown is how being online has kept everything going. Imagine what would happen if this was 20 years ago. However, human beings being social animals have the need to have people to people interaction and I don't think online shopping can replace that.
  4. Sikhs outside India for the most part don't really have much to do with Indian Hindus. The most interaction would be with Hindu Punjabis.
  5. After 30 years that Pandits left the Valley, I am sceptical whether they would want to return. If you are of the young generation and made your life outside of Kashmir, it is not going to be easy to transition. There are certain people who want to turn the line of control as a proper border but this is unlikely to happen. One of the advantages of Sikhi over Hindutva's overliance is the varna system. Varna system is too specialised and causes more problems because only one group is able to fight. With our way, we all pitch in to fight. As a Sikh, I got the brains to outwit a Brahmin, I got hustle to out-hustle a Bania/Vaisya ,I can out-fight a Kshatriya and I get down and get my hands dirty and get stuck in like a Shudra.
  6. I think in all probability, the type of Hindu warrior has been wiped out of the gene pool. All that is left are cowards and traitors.
  7. The BJP have got rid off Article 370 and have they are split off Ladakh from Jammu Kashmir putting it into central control. What plans they have for Kashmir Valley, I would not know.
  8. It is said that up to half the deaths are from nursing homes. I think on the news they mentioned there was one nursing home that had 15 deaths alone.
  9. The priority for these Hindus is their survival. If it suits their purpose then we are great, if it does not then we are not. If there is something that is flattering about Sikhs mentioned by non-Indian media, the Hindu particularly Hindu Punjabi will try to appropriate. Parasite behaviour.
  10. It is naive to assume plants cannot have viruses or spread viruses.
  11. Covid-19 is not racist, it can effect anyone. BAME tend to have higher proportion of people with pre-existing conditions.
  12. If there is one kind of racism, it is this kind of 'benevolent ' racism where it is made to look like they are doing you a favour. In the US, there is Planned Parenthood which I have read specifically targets the black community. I don't know how these elites operate. They are either not that as smart as they like to think they are or the elites are not as cohesive with competing factions. The reason you see these huge population growths is because child mortality was very high in the past, so families tended to be bigger so there are enough children to be around in adulthood. Having a lot of children meant that their Parents can be supported in their old age. However, with all the various inoculations, it has meant that a lot more children survive. This results in a huge population bulge. With globalisation, people all over the world have a lot more aspiration and want to emigrate to wealthier countries and with Gaddafi now gone in Libya, a lot of these Africans are shifting north trying to get into Europe. There are consequences to every action, there are 1st order, 2nd order and 3rd order effects. The elites seem to be digging a bigger hole everytime. They carry out one program and their are side effects to it, so they try to implement another program to counter those side effects and it opens up another can of worms.
  13. Subsaharan Africa has some of the highest population growths in the world. Whereas most countries may have 1% increase, there are countries that in Africa that are growing 4-5 %. There does seems to be some goal to reduce their population.
  14. Just watching a documentary about Ancient Carthage, they were very much a mercantile empire. However, they never really made allies and were betrayed by other states when they were fighting enemies. It is important to win hearts and minds. That is something Marathas never did.
  15. When animals lose their habitat they start coming into urban areas. Normally, they stay away from humans but they are not frightened anymore.
  16. Food source, they look for food and come inland to look for it. It is the same for foxes. You see a lot of them in towns and cities.
  17. There is an ecological balance that has to be maintained in nature. Conservation is very complicated. If you kill off too many predators then their prey will multiplicate and overrun their environment.
  18. You see some type of behaviours and undertones in Indian serials particularly in the saas-bhau drama serials. I recall the one serial called "Kyau Ki Saas Bi Khabi Bhau Thee", where the protagonist Tulsi is kind of revered as a some devi and when she was challenged by some scheming female villain then she would step up to her and that Conch shell sound effect, it was like Mahabharat or something and she fighting for dharma like it was some kind of 'dharam yudh'. Even the dialogue was Bhagavad Gita like when taking about 'truth' Then they will also introduce and influence certain rituals I never even heard of like this 'Karva Chauth ' , where a wife will fast for her husband for a day and in the evening break her fast when the moon came out and she will hold some tambourine like object over the moon. Then I started hearing about some of our girls/women started doing this for their husbands. And I am like 'come off it', this seems to be some made up recent ritual, we have never done this in our traditions. There is a lot of soft power and influence in the media.
  19. https://amp.scmp.com/news/asia/east-asia/article/3079126/japan-pay-firms-leave-china-relocate-production-elsewhere-part?__twitter_impression=true Japan is looking to move production away from China.
  20. Boris Johnson and the UK health authorities under-estimated Covid-19 and UK is paying for the consequences. Here is another question that the sceptics would ask (UK sceptics) "If there are all these cases, how come Hospitals are empty?" You see what is being claimed is that more and more wards are becoming Covid wards but it is claimed that these wards are empty. (I cannot substantiate these claims) The other side of this argument would be this is a good thing because if people are heeding all the advice then the health system is not as much under pressure than we thought. But at least we are prepared if there is a sudden up-turn. This is what the Covid sceptics don't understand : We don't understand enough about this, we should be mitigating all the risks until we have better control of things. I mean you can drive a car without a seat belt but your still wear it.
  21. One of the things people who dispute Covid-19 death numbers is whether the numbers are inflated. For example, in Italy it is said every death is attributed to Covid-19. You can die of a heart attack and their authorities will say it is because of Covid-19. It is then said that the reason that Germany's numbers are so low is that won't check if a patient has Covid-19 if they have died. So if a patient has heart problems and had Covid-19 symptoms and dies, they won't necessarily record it as a Covid-19 death. So it seems likely that different countries measure their death rates differently. You have China has had 3,300 deaths approx and it has barely risen. How do we know they are telling the truth? The question then arises is that people who have pre-existing conditions who have died, are they dying with covid-19 or because of covid-19? I have no idea.
  22. It poses more questions than answers. This country produces nothing and it's been like this for decades. The only European country that seems to have a handle on this is Germany. They had lockdown very quickly and their people follow the rules. And they never got rid of their manufacturing. The UK is run by accountants and they look to do everything on the cheap.
  23. Too much dithering. The claim is that lack of supply of certain chemicals to produce these testing kits. I suppose every country is scrambling to get these testing kits which impacting supply chains, so now they are forced to locally produce. The other thing is that a lot of countries are getting testing kits from China which have been proved to be defective. 3D printing is taking off in a big way.
  24. From my understanding about one of the tests is that it tests for antibodies. It doesn't test whether you HAVE covid-19 but if you HAD covid-19.
  25. Every country could have done more to prepare. I was watching GMTV today and Dr Hillary Jones mentioned that it was thought because SARS and MERS were not as widespread and fewer deaths, the UK authorities thought this would be the same. There was definitely complacency there. The country has never been through something like this before so would not have a clue how to handle this. But it also poses other consequences. There are people like journalists like Peter Hitchens who think we are over exaggerating the impact of Covid-19 and the taking of drastic measures like lockdown could cause more deaths because the economy would crash.
