  2. LOL! im confused... the post 27 says that the original posters name is Gurpreet?? Well in any case - i'm really pleased to hear that the original poster overcome the Kes issues and took Amrit!!! Well done!!!
  3. Gurpreet Phenji, thats great news! Well done!
  4. I forgot to add that olive oil is a great cleanser!!! I use it at night on some cotton wool - no need for cream! When you first star using it you'll find that it beings your impurities out and you have some spots but keep with it once all the grime comes out you'll notice the difference!!!
  5. I have a great cream from boots no 7 range it's called 'Shine free make up base' you can use it under make up or as i do on it's own, it gets rid of your oily areas around your t-zone, and sort of evens out your complexion - no redness... i really like it... it obviously dosnt get rid of spots but it dosnt make them look so red...
  6. The beauty of Sikhi is that we are all learning, we are all learning and all work at own paces - we never stop learning. We have a 100 questions about Sikhi, so we research, read, ask questions, when we've answered those questions, our thought process change and and we find that we now have another 100 questions to ask, which is why we are always learning, always expanding our horizons. But, if we cant be bothered to learn and expand our minds by going to school / college where we are essentialy spoon fed the information - how are we going to continue and learn about Sikhi? Doing your GCSE's / A Levels is about more than just, getting a piece of paper with a grade on. It's about the experience, the opportunity to expend your mind and interact with others, it provides you with the skills to be able to debate with people and put your opinions across to others, to take as well as give criticism. If your not interested in your course, why not do your A Levels in Religious studies / history / punjabi, then go onto do a degree which interest you. Along with expanding your mind about Sikhi, you owe it to yourself and to every other Sikh that has ever inspired you to try and better yourself and inspire the next generation. With an education you will and Vaheguru beside you, you will be able to choose an occupation where you can help others - you could be part of the MI5 and help with translations to prevent and terrorist activities (see there website), you could be a doctor, dentist, pharmacist then take your skills back to punjab and help people out there for free. With an education you can help people who are less fortunate than you - wich is what we all want to be able to do. Phul Chuk Maaf
  7. Thanks! Will definately start to IM now!!!
  8. Thanks everyone, lets keep clicking. Cancer of any kind is horrible, but on the basis that free test are available, we should put aside any embarassment that we may feel and just get tested. Stay Healthy!
  9. A favor to ask, it only takes a minute.... I dont usually do this, but i have checked that this is a valid request, so lets help... The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on 'donating a mammogram' for free (pink window in the middle). This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors /advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising. Here's the web site! Click and Pass it along to people you know. http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/

    New Baby - Help!

Also, i dont want to pry into your family affairs, but i truly believe that regardless of the issues that you and your husband have had with your families, they would be over the moon to know that your now expecting. Furthermore i am sure that they will be happy to know that you want to bring them up in a Sikh environment - maybe you should get back in touch with them? You never know you maybe pleasantly suprised.

    New Baby - Help!

I'd suggest going to your local Gurdwara either on the way home from the hospital or at some point soon after. If you then speak to the Granthi there they will be able to give you a letter from the alphabet to help you select a name for each of your children. Good luck with the delivery! Hopefully it's quick! Dont worry about visiting the Gurdwara though, everyone is more than helpfull and they will be able to help you out.

    Relationships

Your a Singh in Gurus Roop, you will meet your ideal partner soon, have faith. Be yourself, your true self, as it's your personality which will shine through and convince a prosepective partner that they want to settle down with you. Were all going to age, and long after our looks have gone, and our wrinkles set in, it's our personalities and conversation skills that keep a relationship together. Please do not cut your hair in the hope that you will meet a girl, because i dont believe that you will meet the right girl for you if adopt a new look which does not represent the true you. I have a friend who is in the same situation as you, she wants a guy who dosnt eat meat or drink and has a Pagh and Dhari, but were finding it difficult, most of the guys her parents have introduced, have said that they want a wedding with meat and sharab even though they dont eat it and my friend is very much against this. So you see your not the only one, with these concerns, but i've no doubt that it will work out soon. Have faith... Be true to yourself, be confident and you'll be fine! Phul Chuk Maaf
  13. Also, have you thought about how you would cope with a new baby when you have stitches from a Caesarean? I dont have children (yet!), but i did have key hole surgery recently and even simple tasks like sitting and bending to pick things up were difficult for a week or so after the surgery i was so sore. I know this will sound weird but oily food and being around oil really aggrevated my stiches - no i wasnt bathing in oil! But when making somseh etc the oil really aggrevated me. I can only imagine that after a Ceasarian the discomfort would be far greater and the need to get back up on your far more immediate. Personally i'd opt for the Natural option atleast then you wouldnt have to worry your baby kicking or hitting stitches... you could just carry on as normal afterwards. And besides our Mums all coped the Natural way, and at that without Gas and Air which we now have available! Dont worry!!
  14. Does any one know where i can get Bilaaval Mehalaa 5 in an mp3 format? Bilaaval Mehalaa 5 || thaathee vaao n lagee paarabreham saranaaee || chougiradh hamaarai raam kaar dhukh lagai n bhaaee ||1|| sathigur pooraa bhaettiaa jin banath banaaee || raam naam aoukhadhh dheeaa eaekaa liv laaee ||1|| rehaao || raakh leeeae thin rakhanehaar sabh biaadhh mittaaee || kahu naanak kirapaa bhee prabh bheae sehaaee ||2||15||79|| Bilaaval, Fifth Mehla: The hot wind does not even touch one who is under the Protection of the Supreme Lord God. On all four sides I am surrounded by the Lord's Circle of Protection; pain does not afflict me, O Siblings of Destiny. ||1|| I have met the Perfect True Guru, who has done this deed. 15. LOL! this is crazy. Vaheguru is neither male or female, Sikhi is one of the few religions that show us that we are all equal, we are all Vahegurus childeren he favours neither males or females over each other, he loves us all equally. Therefore we are all EQUAL. You continue in your conquest to find non Sikh girls to marry, the Sikhs that have not yet taken Amrit, but your efforts may be better placed in encouraging your peers into following Sikhi. (ocelot phenji/veerji - you have some very wise words.) Phul Chuk Maaf
  16. I truely believe that in your opinion you have done no wrong, however i can honestly say i dont believe you are exprressing your thoughts in an appropriate manner. Whilst you may have had valid opinion everything you say is clouded by the language that you use. I to could post pictures of Sikh guys who drink, smoke and do drugs - who sleep with anyone with a pulse. I could focus on the negatives, but instead i choose to respect everyone think of the postives - for all those girls who have stumbled of the Sikh path - there are hundreads more who are still very much on the path. The same is true of the guys in our community, sadly people generally accept that it's ok for guys to be drinking - but by your own definition there are far more male 'sluts' then there are females - because of course guys are always drinking, out on the pull. I'm happy to say that none of my female peers fit into your stereotype - although most of the guys do, but i hope with time they too will get back on to the learning curve, and find out more about Sikhi. For Sikhi really is a peacefull, tolerant fulfilling religion. I dont wish to argue, or attack anyone. I will continue on my path and strive to be an honest Sikh, i will help all of my younger Brothers & Sisters when ever i can. As i'm sure that you will too. Phul Chuk Maaf
  17. Sikhi to me is a way of life - it is a means to and end and the end being to go back to Vaheguru. Vaheguru has sent us our Gurus who have spoken in a language that we may understand, to teach us to lead an honest life, to follow the Sikh Path. We are all on a steep learning curve, some more advanced than others but that does not make us better then our peers - for we all have the same goal (whether we have realised it or not is a seperate matter). We must never stop learning, for there is so much to learn, and we should never assume to have all knowledge for only Vaheguru is privy to that. I strive to respect others and to treat others the way I myself want to be treated, i hope to be and remain a Good Sikh.
  18. I wont judge the original poster in the way he has judged all of our Sikh Sisters. I will however pray that you come to your senses, and that in the future you dont have to witness your own sister, niece, cousin or daughter (if you ever have one in the future) be belittled the way you have these girls. I cannot condone the way you have posted their pictures up - what were you doing looking at them for a start? The only thing that keeps my mind at peace is that i know that not all men hold the same values and opinions as you. Were all on a learning curve some more advanced than others - i only hope that you can change your opinions on the Sikh girls in the community. I hope your future wife never gets to see this side of you. Could someone please remove the hi5 references? Phul Chuk Maaf
  19. LOL! This really is funny! I hope your sisters and nieces and female cousins dont know your opinions on Sikh girls, i hope you never have any problems finding a nice boy for any future girls you may father too. I think we all need to learn to respect each other a little more. We shouldn't generalise and stereotype everyone, if we do meet bad apples along our path it is up to us to try and bring them back onto the right path. A Sikh dateing agency for the non 'khalsa'? Sorry but that's not right. As both 'lowest' and 'JustMe' Phenji have said we should all be trying to meet our one true love - Vaheguru. Not attempting to fix the Sikh Non turbanned guys up with people from other religions! Lets just all try and work on our own jeevans, and on the way help any lost brothers and sisters to come back onto the Sikh Path. Appologies if i've offended anyone - as that was not my attention. Phul Chuk Maaf
  20. I was sent this some time ago, and thought i'd share it with you all, appologies if it has already been posted: Why do you waste this life and search elsewhere? Why do you wonder aimlessly from here to there? Why do you turn to those who point you in the opposite direction? Why do you follow those who fail to look at their inner most reflection? Why do you place so much importance on wealth and beauty? Why do you abandon your faith and religious duty? Why do you look for answers from science and man? Why do you question and falter when things dont go to plan? Why do you lose your identity, conform and follow the crowd? Why so many Whys? When all that should matter is making Maharaaj Ji proud.
  21. Im not sure what your skill sets are or whether you were after a full or part time job, but Nationwide (cov city centre) had weekend posts available (there was a poster up the other week at the branch), there was also a similar poster in barclays (the town branch). Outfit at central six also needs staff. It may be worth you taking your CV into an agency. Good Luck!
  22. I had heard that the £100 million that the Mosque was going to cost was going to be funded by using the tax payers money - essentially our money, our taxes could be put to better use, the NHS, Education. But if it's being funded by an external source as per the vid on youtube, well my only concern then is the size of the proposed Mosque, is a Mosque which is bigger than the wembley stadium actually required in the UK? I dont know...

    Do You Care?

Thats terrible! I'm glad our younger Veer is strong and is still true to his faith... The article suggests that: "Umair has been charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment as a hate crime, second-degree menacing as a hate crime, second-degree aggravated harassment, second-degree harassment and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He faces up to seven years in prison. " Should he not be changed with ABH too? (Or is that a term only used by us here in the UK?) Which carries a maximum sentence of 5 years on indictment or 6 months summarily. Personally i think he should get sentenced as it was a race hate crime, even if it is for a short time (in a young offenders institution - dont know if they do that in the US?) instead of just letting him of! That way he learns the consequences of his actions and when he gets out he should have to go through the learning process as suggested. In fact he should start the process whilst doing his time... That way other people will think twice before attacking anyones faith... Can you imagine what sort of punishment would be dished out to someone who made a muslim eat pork??? They'd go for all sorts of mental, physical, and emotional compensation too! I'm not saying it's good to do that... just that we tend to just let things slide, and not fight for action... Phul chuk Maf
