  1. This is a nice topic ...makes me all smiley..
  2. I think whereas that may have been true of most council living peeps this guy seems to have been personally affected by the grooming gangs as they have got his female cousin hooked on drugs and were abusing her also his male friends have been radicalised by the dawah guys , I think anyone in that situation can understand his feelings he could have easily let the BNP takeover but he didn't . We are not aproblem in his eyes because we are also suffering like his people and we have always made a positive contribution to British life , as a group we are the most law-abiding, most charitable and hard-working we have a work ethic unlike so many newbies.
  3. Yes the new year has arrived for the Julian calendar but for Sikhs we celebrate at Vaisakhi so when I get to 13th April 2015 I will wish all sangat worldwide Have a laha filled year and I hope Waheguru blesses you and yours with Naam and Amrit .... so here's advanced notice :biggrin2:
  4. I remember reading the phone call transcript of a yezidi girl of 15 she said there was no life after what was happening to her and her companions this words still chill me 'what future ...since morning until now (lunch) i have been raped 30 times ...I am better off dead' these children pray for death and commit suicide because of their conditions ...the UK and US chase the oil and weapon sales they are not there for any innocent parties , never have been, remember the Kurdish massacres in Iraq ...
  5. somebody needs to get the gurdwara's founding team to write down their advice on how to create another gurdwara like this i.e. requirements of sangat etc practical matters and we need to roll this out across the world can you imagine akhand jaap going in every country where such a Gurdwara stands ....Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru jio
  6. maybe he could see what you couldn't ... that we ALL are people of one breath , the current one ...there are no guarantees for the next and the last one is gone ...we should use every precious breath Waheguru blesses us with to get to mission target. I think you have to remember not everyone who goes , gets amrit ...there is a process you have to ask humbly from Guru Granth and Guru Panth for that boon and the panj will voice the Guru's yes or no ...I have been told No when younger because They could see that I would need to go through some stuff before I would be ready I was told to have Amrit after College (I was 10) but they would give me and my siblings choola. Others have been heart-broken like me but not given a time to come back. When Guru ji says Yes it is the culmination of millions of years journey of your soul, it is your destiny opening up... If Guru ji has embraced you as his beloved son, his Khalsa , for whom he sacrificed every last one of his pleasures in life and his family laughingly, a Father who promised his utmost attention and love always whilst you called him father, trusted and obeyed him. Would you spurn such a love for what the world has to offer ?
  7. I think you are confused as to what a sehajdhari sikh is , Guru Nanak Dev ji set the requirement for kesh not Guru Gobind SIngh ji it was the first rehit given to Bhai Mardana, so even being a sehajdhari means keeping kesh . what has occured to make you so unhappy about your kesh and your banis ? We can intellectualise ad nauseum but the truth remains the truth you need Guru ji's blessings to get anywhere in life and to succeed in life's mission you need to give your whole self : ego , mind , body and soul to him and follow his orders, even if hard , inconvienent or you don't understand why. The why will become apparent as you progress.
  8. be real Bebe Nanaki was Guru ji's follower from his childhood whereas Bhai Mardana was only after Guru ji reached maturity.
  9. yep it is her choice but please spare me the fake piousness of those girls who wear the headgear but their faces are plastered with makeup as they walk around in skin tight clothes and are totally besharam with guys on their lunchbreaks, after work. The purda is supposed to be in the minds of the men and women if it's not there no amount of cloth is going to hide anything from kaami minds
  10. DTF veer ji, you made a big mistake , Bebe Nanaki was the first sikh , the first disciple of Guru Nanak Dev ji and she broke the fresh ground by being a woman disciple ... please don't forget your history ... Kesh Rehit was started by Guru Nanak Dev ji , he was asked by Bhai Mardana what was required for him to become a sikh , first rehit was to be Sabat surat and stay in Akal Purakh's hukam by not cutting his kesh (this also broke with islamic tradition of hijamat trimming of kesh) to remember Akal Purakh -Jap Naam, earn an honest living by the sweat of one's own brow - Kirt karna and to share what one had with others less fortunate - vand ke chakna.
  11. my problem with this how are they reconverting?? are the people doing pesh in front of panjpiare or is it just 'siropa leho ji... parshad kaho ji ....bus hogea . ..tussi phir sikh ho..'
  12. I learn that day one I arrived from Poplar , we sikhs will always be the meat in the hatred sandwich, that's why you have to choose kick back and refuse to give in to pressure to conform OR live like a snivelling fear-filled wreck apologising for existing ...I know what I did and I have never regretted wearing a dastar even though the path was tough sometimes and Waheguru has shown me standing your ground earns you respect from even your enemy.
  13. well I didn't mention the long standing turkish cypriot community because they were never abrasive rude or unfriendly to other communities in fact they were more modern and cosmopolitan than other islamic countries the pakistanis arrived only after more punjabis moved /got established in my neighbourhood Shoreditch/Hoxton , whereas Leyton and leytonstone , east ham, poplar, barking and upton park was heaving a lot sooner in fact I'd say we lagged behind a good eight years the general trend because we lived in a white dominant area. I think the best indicator is the number of halal restaurants on the main shopping/school streets , as soon as you get over three halal serving restaurants out of twelve food shops then the Pakistani population mushrooms. Surprisingly where there are turkish established the pakistanis don't settle . I would say most pakistanis arrived after ugandan refugees did ...because the gujaratis and kenyan sikhs ran the wholesalers all along petticoat lane and tat situation only changed mideighties p.s. pakistanis really hate bangladeshis and banglatown (yep they took over the old haunts of the gujarati and kenyan enterprises)
  14. I am not scared of being recognised for my views , I am a Sikh of Guru Granth Sahib ...maybe people who have nefarious plans and agendas want to give me advice now? the problem dear sir is you cannot convert or become a sikh without Guru Granth Sahib and Panj Piare ...I want to know who they were, which Gurudwara they were sent from , if they were fake RSS clones then I am sorry for those wishing to stay in Guru ji's panth that they are being swindled ... they cannot simply state hum SIkh hain and that's it ...they have to do pesh in front of Guru Granth sahib ji and Guru Panth Panj piarey, give account for themselves and receive punishment then they are free to have amrit once they have had amrit they are truly Guru's sikhs.
  15. no I disagree the bhagats, saints and even Jesus , Moses all had long kesh and full beards (agewise) all Godward souls tend to this as they accept God-given appearence and stay in Hukam (God's will) and they lose sense of fitting into man's expectations of them . Just because revisionists make pictures showing other things doesn't make it true e.g Jesus wasn't white , he would have looked like other Middleeastern People -tanned with dark hair but that doesn't fit it with European ideas of looks. I have seen African Jesus - black, Korean Jesus - more oriental features . We respect and listen to the message not fixate on the body's looks, most images of Christ are made many many years after his being around and just subject to an impression in the artist's mind. Wrong again Dhur ki Bani has so much power even reciting it without full understanding can transform people's hearts and minds , and further understanding can and will be revealed , true you need a Guru and have Naam bestowed but Our Guru is that Dhur ki Bani, Guru Granth Sahib ji and Guru panth in the form of Panj Piarey together bestow naam when Khande di pahul is given to the seeker on his/her giving of their head in Amrit Sanchar. Guru Gobind SIngh ji made the order of the Khalsa and showed us how to bring them into being we don't have to wait for prophecies and the Church of the Latter -day Saints is not what he mentioned ...
  16. This 'reconversion' was done how , by what method? There is a lot of talk in the media but no photos no interviews of people changing faith so I cannot really believe that this is a real positive thing . Sikhi is not a conversion based faith , if you come and learn and accept Guru ji fully and decide to leave other methods and paths then you can follow through and take amrit and get naam and become full Sikhs i.e. Khalsa. You know in Hinduism you have to give bheta gain acceptance by the Guru and get given the mantar, the same mechanism in SIkhi but you seem to want to stop short of the comittment because of comments of others ? strange . RSS are blackening the name of SIkhi by associating it with forcible or rishwat based conversions...SIkhi is the path of prema bhagti if you don't love Waheguru there is no point ...I would rather people become SIkhs because of a true calling rather than a maya based push, RSS is trying to change that association and undermine a Khalsa'a image by their actions my Guru is the maker of SIkhs not these men of dubious intentions. SHaranpur really ? that's amazing because in all the coverage we read and saw nothing like this came up.... Sikhi transcends caste , culture, geographic location, race everything because it is the truth , the true mirror of Akal Purakh please try to understand that and go into it deeper because you are only just getting a glimpse so far ... many people claim to be a sikh but don't know what it truly entails when they do realise they cannot help but fall truly in love
  17. Panj Piarey gave advise to burn the kesh to get rid of it with satkar. In our household we keep a lidded box especially for this collection of guchey of kesh and when it fills the sanskar is done outdoors this is once in a while not a major time-consuming thing and not bipran ki reet if Guru Panth has given the hukam to observe this . My parents home we did the same so I am used to doing this since age 10 so 36 years later I give it no major thought ...
  18. you don't you clean it and pass it on , to your kids or family members or even give to Gurdwara to be used in Amrit sanchar sewa... There are ways always to keep satkar and benefit others
  19. The point is to have your own hair not fake hair sewn in ... you have to commit fully not do half-measures there is no rush, grow out your kesh then go for sanchar.
  20. I grew up in Hackney East London and since 1975 it's true the whole atmosphere has changed, all the recent influx of people have been islamic and very aggressive towards to original or preceding immigrants , the streets which used to be patrolled by skins in 77-80 now are patrolled by gangs of bangladeshi youths and pakistani youths even those gangs are not mixing . The Bangladeshi and guys arrived with their families during the eighties , the parents were quiet hard-working as were the older siblings it's the third generation and younger second generation siblings that fell into gang mentality due to initial fears of racism which petered out after five years as they became accepted but then the pakistanis turned up with their hatred for all non-muslims and their virulent hate-spouting Imams they radicalised the youths and now it a mix of muslim youth gangs and white/brown gangs in Hackney. Now the Somalis are here they are rude, nasty attitude and just out to get what they can out of the system and mess up the locals as we are all kuffar and deserve it. It's this attitude that most British people find hard to accept the ingratitude for giving them pannah and the reward of being cussed down, physically attacked or robbed. That woman is representative of the new face of burka hijab wearers now uneducated yet superior feeling women who are rude and outspoken to all and sundry. ehna de nal matha lagna bewaquoofi aa ehna da soch bikul bandh aa.
  21. I think you are confused you CANNOT be a khalsa without becoming a SIkh that is how you become a Sikh. The reason to wear a Kara is NOT self-defence but something more profound if you do not know what it is then I think you should find out ...Sikhs are not Hindu because they do not believe in caste or Mandir statue worship . Many Hindu guys I know have suaved it up with Desi girls trying to pretend to be what they are not ...their conduct is not becoming of a sikh so please spare me the fake excuses...
  22. An update on the situation http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/CBI-likely-to-register-FIR-against-Dera-chief-for-alleged-castration-of-disciples/articleshow/45671601.cms
  23. so if a child or teacher wishes you you would brush their wish aside and be rude ? if someone says have a nice day do you just stare them down and then turn away or brush past them ?...just wondering ... I cooked food like all the other Mums for the school parties , does that mean I affronted Sikhi ? I think not I did part of the job of a parent just like all the others...I teach my kids about Sikhi and we did talk about Chaar Sahibzahidey and Guru Gobind SIngh ji and that was the most important thing for them , they got new jumpers because that's what they needed I didn't play up tales of Santa so chill ...
