  1. Whislt on the subject of SP, I remember when I was a kid, out local Gudwara got burnt down/set on fire. I was never sure what happened? All i remember was that there was grafitti daubed on part of Gudwara with the words 'Holy Smoke'. Does anyone know of these events? It occured in the 80's in Birmingham, UK. It was the Guru Ravidas gudwara along Grove Lane in Handsworth. Any insight into this dreadful event would be grealty appreciated. (The event was made more prominant as I saw it happen from my nani's back garden, her garden faced the back of the Gudwara). thanks
  2. I agree with HEART.... Who cares what other think, say, do....at the end of the day the its YOUR actions that dictate your FUTURE..... And also, there is NOTHING wrong with chatting to girls..LOL..my best friend is a girl and we are as close as bricks and mortar.... Maybe you should ask yourself if YOU should be thinking ill of those girls and boys talking....how do you know they are actually flirting...maybe they are, but thats not for me and you to pass judgement...focus on Simran and Pyar for Maharaji and Mankind...thats all that matters... I think people in this world just like causing <banned word filter activated> for others (no offence meant to anyone in this thread), why can't we all just stop hassling each other and then things would be less hectic, more peaceful and HAPPIER!!! LOL, thats my 50cents anyway...
  3. This is from their website: http://keertan.waheguroo.com/ Saadh Sangat Jee, Waheguroo Jee Kaa Khalsa, Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh! As you all know, Waheguroo! Network sevadars had to discontinue the media downloads in the past couple of months. Many users have asked us the reasons and this is the first time we are discussing this issue in sangat. For the past year or so, our network has been getting hit with a lot of traffic and mostly every month we've been using more than allotted bandwidth. As a consequence, we have had to pay hundreds of dollars every month just for the extra bandwidth that our sangat uses when downloading keertan and other files. Besides support of Sangat, we don't have any other financial resources. So to run the Waheguroo! Network of websites, we rely on donations that are sent to us every month. Miserably for us, the money that we receive in donations has declined a lot in previous months and we have not been able to pay our monthly overage bills. We are currently in a dilemma of whether to upgrade our plan and purchase more bandwidth or completely shut down the media sites. But upgrading the plan would mean clearing off the previous debt before the next billing cycle, which comes in less than a week. We have been trying our best to pay as much as we can but we still need some help from the sangat. With folded hands, we would like to request the sangat to take part in helping us and hope you will be able to do so at your earliest. We only have a few days of time and we will appreciate any help that is sent to us immediately. Anyone having any concerns or questions can reach us directly through the PM system of this forum or email us directly at publicrelations@waheguroo.com. A list of projects that we are currently working on can be obtained from http://www.waheguroo.com/donate. Please use the same page to make donations. Although international sangat can send us money orders or personal cheques, we would really be thankful if donations are sent through Paypal as we will receive them in a timely manner. The websites currently down because of bandwidth overages include: Keertan.net Ikirtan.com Kathaa.net Khalsa.TV SweetSikhi.com Waheguroo Jee Kaa Khalsa, Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh! - Daasre http://forums.waheguroo.com/Regarding-Wahe...ure-t16477.html

  7. Quite funny!!! VERY TRUE!!! (although I dont drink or look at kooria!!!!) :T: :T: :T:
  8. None, sadly. There are a few in Birmingham (e.g. www.dtfbooks.com) but none up here.

  12. I have a feeling that this may have been highlighted before, but have you seen this website: http://www.goldentemple.com/ they have a some nut-mixture called: Wha Guru Chew OK, so maybe not exactly 'infringing' upon Sikhi, but it's close enough!!!
  13. Can someone give me the road names or area names for good desi areas in Leciester. Also, are there any good Sikhi bookshops there? We are travelling down from Manchester for a visit and want to find desi areas/shops and Gudware. many thanks Raj
  14. Thanks all. I've done that. I've told insurance company what happened. I have two people who saw what happened. The police are useless...trust me. I had another accident two days later (someone elses fault) and the police told me that if no-one was injured, they don't want to know (even though the other driver had no insurance!!). Anyway...thats life as people say. Thanks though...it still stresses me out though, to know how sick people are....they need a proper slap---mom style!!!
  15. WGJK WGJF I need some advice I was involved in a very minor road accident a few days ago. No one was hurt. I hit the guy from behind. Basically, there were 4 young guys in this car who were making racial comments out of the window as I drove along side them. I had to move over to the next lane so was behind them. They threw a bag of mcdonalds stuff out of the window. We were driving along a dual carriage way, and just passed a right turn filter lane, when these guys slowed down suddely and were trying to turn right, even though they had missed the filter lane and shouldn't be making that turn. The road was wet, and I managed to slow down enough but still had a minor bump with them. When they got out of the car they were all really OK and not being racist (I was keeping my cool). No damage on either vehicle was seen. However, this morning I recieve a letter saying that they are making a personal injury claim against me. They have not reported it to my insurance company. What can I do? I have two people who saw what happened. But bascially, they brought it upon their selves, I was driving at a reasonable distance behind before they tried to make an illegal right turn along a 40 mph road. Any advice from people in the UK? Many thanks Raj
  16. I dont want to stir-up trouble or slander them, but seems like its a common theme. Thanks for those who replied, I will certainly stay away from them and will pass the message onto my friends to think twice about ordering things from them!!!!
  17. Its ashame......I really thought the service would be better...espicially seeing as its a Sikhi-realted company......oh well...seems like it certainly is KalaYug
  18. LOL...hope not!! I was looking for a Gutka..Nitnaym (Nitnem) Baanees - Daily Sikh Prayer, Translated and Transliterated in English by Dr. Santokh Singh. They seemed like the only place I could source one from as its out of print now!!! I spent ages trying to find it, and finally when I find somewhere...I'm back to square one!!! Lets hope it turns up soon (the site looks good, but you wonder at the level of customer service they offer). Oh well. Such as life is.
  19. Is six weeks wait long enough? I've sent them 10 e-mails asking if they have recieved the order and the money, followed by a few more asking if its been posted. No replies... So...how long should I wait? 2 months? 3 months??
  20. Dunno if anyone else from the UK is having trouble using Sikhlink.net. I've ordered stuff from it, added the extra $20 for postage...over a month ago, but I still havent recieved any items and none of my e-mails have been replied too. Does anyone actually know if they still operating? If not, someones got my money!!!! If any of you guys across the pond know the guys who run SikhLink, please give them a bump on my behalf!!!! Many thanks :e:
  21. Ditto....less anger/hatred/abuse and more pyar. Whats the point of all this pushing and shoving?? Think of all that time you could have spent doing something 100% Sikhi. Something that will get you much further in life then you can ever real imagine...something that will be felt in this world and the next...something that will shower Maharajis grace upon you...something THAT counts.... What is that thing? Naam... Simran.... How do we do this? Simple...just utter 'Waheguru' with love and devotion.
  22. Ditto..excellent video, even down to the way the narrator pronounced Sikh correctly!!!
  23. WGJK WGJF OK, so i've now managed to find somewhere to hold a Sikh charity event..... The charity would be NSPCC (The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children). Any ideas on how I could attract a large enough group of Sikhs/Non-Sikhs to the event? Is it worth changing the charity towards a Sikhi/Indian related charity? If you were invited to a Sikhi-related or Diwali dinner, would you attend? What sort of 'event's would you like to see? Traditional Indian dancing, songs, DJ? Thanks for your advice and help
  24. That'd be great. They dont have an internet site or anything do they? If not, I'll probably be heading down LittleIndia soon and will have a look then. Cheers
