  1. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! pyare jio, it was fantastic to see so many youth there. I was a bit surprised to see so few elders. It is such a shame, how easily they seem to have forgotten 84. What was really good was how so many youth had good quality flyers and went around giving them to Londoners. The whole event is about awareness, and we need to interact more with people when we protest to get the message across. It was better that more of the lectures were in English. However i was thinking, instead of loads of lectures. It would have been better to have a projector system, and show a video of just images in complete silence. I think that would be alot more powerful, and affect many more non-sikhs. I also think all youth throughout the world should carry on with with parchaar about 84. In particular distribute the booklet by the truth and Justice campaign. It is called 84 Kristallnacht. It is published by National Union of Journalists. It is a very powerful and professional booklet, and also concise. This should not be a one off 20th anniversary event, but something that builds every year. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! 2. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, I have been to the gurdwara in Reggio Millia. There are some really nice Gursikhs there. especially a Gursikh called Amarjit Singh, who has alot of Guru Jis blessings. I think they also have their annual smagam in august where a couple of hundred sangatan go to Italy from Uk, and do a tour of Italy. For contacts best person to speak to is Onkar Singh, Gen Sec of AKJ UK, as mentioned, as he arranges all these parchaar tours and Amrit sanchaars. Please be aware it is very hot in Italy during summer. when we were there the temperature was in the mid 40s - degrees centigrade. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  3. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! pyare jio, the punjabi version is available widely in Punjab, and some places in USA/Canada. They will be available in UK hopefully soon. Translated english version will start appearing on net in mid - september. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  4. waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, The book is called "To Devaa Jagda Rahee ( Keep the light Burning)". It is written by my brother-in-law in Punjab. His name is Amardeep Singh Amar. He is a young Gursikh naujawan like us. He has spent many years researching, and writing accounts and events since 1978. The stories are factual, however to protect identities, places, and some names have been changed. As mentioned, it took along time to get this book published, for obvious reasons. It has now come out in Punjabi, and has been very popular in Punjab, especially Amritsar/Tarn tarn area. Some copies have found their way to Canada/America. They will hopefully be available in UK soon. The second edition of this book is also complete and has been sent to the printers. It too details factual events in the last 20 years. It is important to realise that we need to record our history and remember that these Gursikhs are not just meaningless statistics, and their sacrifices are not forgotten. There are many amazing stories to be revealed as yet. We should thank Guru ji for blessing the Panth with such amazing souls. The english version of both books will be on the net in September. One last point - this book has been published by Amardeep veer ji in Punjab. A week after it came out he was picked by the police. However Gursikhs managed to get him freed. He remains undettered and continues to write. He wrote and published a book in Punjab, which many groups, shops and stallholders are afraid to sell in UK, and abroad. Why? We have complete freedom here. It should be NRI Gursikhs who should be making the most noise, and not so eager to forget the last 20 years. waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
  5. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, I think it is fantastic news that Dr manmohan singh will be PM of India today. Althougth he is Congressi, he is significantly less anti-sikh than the likes of badal. At least he is honest, and does not abuse sikhi and its traditions. In India, a sikh Pm was unthinkable, just a few days ago. If he electioned for this instead of Sonia Gandhi, never would they have let him win, and the BJP would have brought up a raft of anti-sikh sentiment. How much he will do for the Sikh Quam cause will be dependant on how much the Sikh Quam lobbies him on issues like justice for Delhi riot victims, drawing back the influence of Hinduvata, and freedom for youth languishing in jails. Just to bring justice to the victims of the delhi riots, the main issue which should be lobbied for, would be an immensely courageous move for him, as the perpetrators are in his party, and given tickets by his party. But at least we have a Sikh for the first time as a recognised world leader. A person is a world renowned economist, and someone who has widespread respect in Indian society. He will actually do more parchaar for sikhi, than most will think. When he goes to America, Europe and is photographed with other world leaders, the press will point out he is a Sikh. The beard and turban will get re-associated with Sikhs, rather than Bin laden for many ignorant people, especially in Europe. Activists in UK should now approach approach him and lobby him to bring up the turban issues with the European leaders. Furthermore, he is a very intellectual sikh. I remember a few months ago, reading an arti cle about Sanjay Dutt, a film star, going on stage at an awards ceremony, and saying, " I have a joke, 2 Sikhs playing chess, get it thats the joke." The whole audience was in a fit of laughter. Basically part of the Hinduvata strategy of humiliating minority groups. So what did the Akali Dal do, Sukhvir Badal had him as a chief guest, campaigning in Punjab with him, rather than reprimanding him. Today in Dr Manmohan Singh we have a world leader, an intellectual, with a proven track record. Some Sikhs have criticised him, but I, realising how hard it is for Sikhs to succeed in India, wish him well, and hope he is equally as successful as he was before. My only concern is that he has a track record of an honest man, who never got caught up controversial issues. Unfortunately as PM he will be surrounded by hoods, and buffoons, in MPs in congress and BJP, and they will all be on his case. It is very hard for a honest man to survive in the company of scheming, and corrupt people. I hope his government survives a full term. May Guru Ji bless him with good sense, conviction, and some Sikhi stature. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  6. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, there are so many different schools and interpretations in Islam. Whichever way you go, someone will have something to say the other way. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  7. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, veer ji, many youth nowadays take the literal english translation of that shabad. This is inaccurate. Eating meat is a clear No NO is Gurmat. Let me explain, you have to understand the context of the shabad. In the old days, these brahmin vegetarians would come to villages for food. Knowing they are vegetarians, village people who did not like them intentionally put meat into their baskets. This would anger them greatly. Guru ji uses meat as an analogy, not literally. The shabad is about arguing, not about meat at all. Guru ji is explaining to them, that the bhagati they have done is lost when they allow people to incite them with the meat. The people are saying to meat, meat, and they respond by Chaggaring (arguing) with them. Sly indivduals have twisted the meaning of this shabad to justify their taste for meat. there is more than enough eveidence in bani about not eating meat, and nothing in their supporting it. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  8. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, this is an excellent site. Nice to see all the pics of young sikh bibian with dastaars. Can I please have the details of the webmasters. I have written some stuff on coming into sikhi, and answers to questions put by muslims aswell. I would like to contribute. Also this is a specific problem in yorkshire, mainly down to areas like bradford, dewsbury, etc. Only two weeks ago, i heard of a boy from huddersfield converting. I set up a meeting with him, and now he is thinking about coming back. Two years ago, I came across a bibi in bradford, who was tryig to convert me. I made her think about alot of things. Some of it I have written in previous mails. her main points were all sikh girls were cheap and slags. When she came to our local camps she saw all our local bibian with dastaars, and could not believe it. Definately dastaars, and sikh spirit needs promoting. Just forwarded the site to all egroups, and messageboards that I am on. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  9. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, that discussion on akj.org is a old one. That preetum kumar was fake. He was actually a nakli nihang from Uk. He was just going on akj.org under fake aliases to disrupt the site, with endless arguments. I responded to him, pointing out the Hindus had damaged themselves more than any other community with practices like caste, sati, dowry, etc. Unfortunately many punjabi have turned towards some of these practices. Anyway, this person then just used that thread to write loads of rubbish on sikh awareness. When I refuted him and questioned many of his points, he went on to personal attacks. Again I refuted him. Only then he realised his mistakes, and apologised for writing lies, and deleted all of his posts on sikhawareness. I am not sure if that thread still exists. By the way, all of them names mentioned were not sikhs, but punjabis. Not every punjabi with a turban is a sikh, sikhi is earned...(kamaii - ed). Hope veer ji that clears things up. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  10. Bani of Sahib Siri Guru Tegh Bahadhur Ji SUKH MAI BAHU SANGI BHAE DUKH MAI SANG NO KOE P1427 Aad Granth Sahib Ji FRIEND IN LIFE AND DEATH In happiness and prosperity one finds her many friends; In sorrow and adversity there is none; Says Nanak, leaving Communion was gone, my mind, The Lord will save thee in the end. Translated by Bhai Tarlochan Singh ji. Plato once stated, "that friendship arises out of human needs and wants and the higher form of ideal of friendship exists only for the sake of God." Selfish and greedy people become the most flattering friends of prosperous, successful, powerful and rich people, but as soon as they face adversity, they not only disappear be even turn against him/her. True friendship is inspired by wisdom, pyar, selflessness and virtue. These are acquired by leading a contemplative life. Shakespeare states, "All friends shall taste, the wages of their virtues and all foes, the cup of their deservings." True friendship is a divine gift, which exalts character, ennobles and purifies man's heart and soul and fills it with compassion and understanding. God, and those who live in the love of the truth, are the only true friends of Man and destined but stand by him and redeem him from the sorrow and tribulations of life and death. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  11. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, get away from all this caste rubbish, it just messes up your mind. Some facts - 1) Most shaheeds were not jatts, they were sikhs. A jatt can never be a sikh, without leaving his jatt title. 2) Most of sikhs you died in delhi were sikhs, not bhappe, but Wanjaaree sikhs. The gareeb ones from tribes. There are 120 million of them in India. Sahib Siri Guru Hargobind Sahib jee brought towards sikhi. They are the porr untouchables, who everyone always forgets about. AKJ & British Sikh Council is currently doing alot of parchaar for them, and trying to bring them back into mainstream sikhi. Be a sikh! Be a Human being ! Forget Caste, it is for fools! Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  12. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, your questions are followed by some answers. I can't read Gurmukhi & do my nit nem from an english gutka. Try to read Gurmukhi. Best to avoid just doing paath from romanised, as this is a mistake I made, and made my paath very bad. Best way is to get a Gurbani CD, and follow the paath on the cd, with your Gutka, or romanised. You will pick up punjabi very quickly, and learn paath very fast. Do not do paath just from a cd, as it will probably make you lazy. I am married and my wife is not interested in taking amrit.[/i] This is your biggest problem. Many Punj Pyarres will tell you to wait until she is ready aswell. I would also advise the same. If you do not, you may find that the two souls in the marriage are going in vastly different directions. Do not force your wife, but talk to her, and try to inspire her with sangat. Do ardas for her, and do paath for. If done sincerely, you will be surprised how miracles happen. Some people will tell you take Amrit now, and forget her. This ideologue is wrong. Oly go together, when both of you are ready. Until then live as an Amritdahri in rehat, and lifestyle, and keep preparing the field which is your mind. The more your do abyass beforehand, the more benefit you will reap. I struggle to sit in the chonkri position (cross legged) and cannot sit for very long periods without getting cramps. This is common in many people. It only happens because you allow your mind to wonder, and think about these things. If you go deep into Naam abyass, when you get it from the Panj, these things go away. Your Mind becomes stronger than the matter. If you do decide to take Amrit, then first read Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jees book "Amrit ke Hai" which is translating in english, in the form of "The Meaning of Sikh Baptism ". It can be downloaded from most AkJ sites. This book questions your mind, and fundamentally asks you if you are taking Amrit for the right reason. The more abyass you do before Amrit, the more benefit you will reap. Always remain focussed on the Bata, and listen to the Bani as it is read. Listen carefuly to the Panj. Afterwards - make Amrit vela your most important task of the day. Your Amrit vela is your jeevan. Compromise on it, and you will compromise your jeevan. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! 13. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Pyare jio, just to add. There are 4 essential events in a Spiritual life. These are Birth, Amrit, Anand karaj, and death. Like doors each has to opened and entered. Without doing this the Atma will always be lacking and yearning. Anand karaj is essential for procreation of life, spiritual companionship, and balance in thoughts and actions. Althougth many may quote Gursikhs who never got married, Anand karaj is an essential part of Gursikhi. I have always believed the best way to do the Anand karaj is at a rainsbhai. It gets all the sadh sangat together in many hours of blissful bhagti, and then the sangat witnesses your Anand karaj, and then the whole sangat does Ardas for the couple. Finally Guru Jis blesses you with a hukamnama. These Anand karajs are beautiful scenes, and precious are the souls who are blessed with union in this manner. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  14. waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, Bhai Joginder singh ji Talwara passing away is an immense loss to the Panth. I felt great sadness yesterday when I found out, althougth one should never be sad, when someone soul departs for a better place. Dass, never got to meet Bhai sahib, but in my heart yearned to, and only missed him on a few occasions. Such was my "Marre Karam". Bhai sahib jis contribution to the Panth is years beyond our time. Many of us will only realise in years to come how important his work has been. His stature in the Panth was huge. For he was the one selected to correct the spelling in the printed Guru Granth Sahib jis, by researching all the Prataan saroops. His books too are beyond their time, and those who deeply search Gurbani, in abyass, and finding Aarth, know how valuable they are. In recent years, The Panth has lost many precious Gursikhs, who were the intelligensia of the Panth. Pyara Singh Padam, Principal Harbhajan Singh are a few names. Bhai Joginder singh is another of these vital Gursikhs who has now completed their Jeevan Yatra. There is not another in the Panth, who has so much knowledge on Gurbani, and knowledge of the Prataan saroops that he did. Most will remember him for his graceful keertan, and sehaj filled avasta. Just imagine how many Gursikhs, Bhai sahib taught keertan to, or inspired via his keertan, and you can just see what an amazing jeevan he had. He never shyed away from Panthik seva, and always stood firm on Gurmat Asools. An example to many youth, he is a person who had the balance of miri and piri. While doing interviews, as part of research for the kurbani book, a Gursikh told me a story about Bhai Joginder singh which I would now like to share. After 1978 Saka, all the sikh youth were doing seva together against the Nirankaris. Many anti-Panthik forces were afraid of this new unity which had appeared in all youth due to the saka of 1978. They did everything they could to divide the youth again. Bhai Joginder Singh called a Gupt meeting, which was attended by Baba Jarnail Singh ji Bindranwale, and Bhai Amolak Singh ji, ( due to many senior youth were now openly hunted by the Police). Bhai Joginder Singh told them that the times which they will now witness will be very hard. Many forces fear the possibilities of what can be achieved. So they are now doing, and will do in the future, so much to ensure the Panth is always kept divided. We should all come to an agreement to never let any issue, whether of maryada or jathebandik, get in the ways of the interests of the Panth. And ensure we always enforce this where we have influence. They all agreed this, and as such, in times when so much pressure was put on them, they all held firm. For the next few years up until June 1984 Saka, They all ensured the panth was together, and it enjoyed a period of great Chardi Kala. After 1984, the Panth could have achieved so much, but let itself become embroiled in issues, which divided and distracted it from its goal. But I write this as a Tribute to the kind of Panthik Spirit that Bhai Joginder Singh had, he was an intellectual, a writer, a Guru ke Kirtanianee, and a Panthik soldier, a True Gursikh. Bhai Sontokh Singh once told me, that Bhai Randhir Singh said to him, that Bhai Joginder Singh will grow up to do immense seva for the Panth, and would be a pillar of it, and indeed he was. waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
  15. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, the shabad mentioned by veer J singh should be considered with the sakhee that goes with it explaining the context of that shabad. The shabad by no means advocates meat, and I would ask J singh to post the sakhee aswell when he quotes the shabad. We should not base our rehat on literal translations of shabads in english. Pyare jio, in response to the original question about sitting with meat eaters. We need to understand this in its context. Also remember Sikhi is about your jeevan, and that is what the rehat protects. When I started University, I had just taken Amrit. As per condition of the Panj Pyare, I everyday attended Amrit vela with a enlightened Gursikh. Guru Maharaj showers so many blessings. Starting a new university, you know no-one and no-one knows you. Everyone tries to assimulate. I just left it to Guru Jis bhana. I would sit in my free time just doing abyass. But I found so many people became friendly with me. I never said anything about rehat to anyone. You should just worry about your abyass, and let it work its magic. I found it creates an environment around you. Whenever youth were with me, they knew I only really talked about seva or spirituality, and occasionally football. Automatically they never talked about girls, meat, drugs, etc. If these subjects came up, especially girls, I would usually drift away. After time, the realised I did not like that, and when I came these subjects would stop, and sikhi subjects would start. One day I came and sat down at a table with some friends. Another lad I know happened to be eating a burger. When I sat down, he panicked and threw it out the window next us. Everyone laughed. I asked why he did that, he replied he felt guilty eating in front of me. Something really dawned on me then. You see I never preached sikhi to any of them, only those who came to the sikhi events. All I did was try to practice it as much as possible in my own jeevan. I concentrated on Guru sahib, and Guru sahib created the parchaar and seva, and the environment for me himself. I never had to say anything to anyone, they all just knew, even if they were not punjabi. All my friends were monas, some pakistanis, some white, one chinese, and one hindu. Somehow they just all knew me. We are all close even till today. Some years later I met many of the punjabi lads, and found to my joy that many had kept their kesh and some had taken Amrit. It is all Guru Maharajs blessings. The moral is I never worried about these things and just concentrated on abyass and my jeevan. Treat everyone with pyaar, politeness and respect, just how you expect to be treated. Create your own environment, not by preaching or force, or paranioa, but with pyaar and respect. You will be amazed how people come to respect you and your space, and your beliefs and intentions. Guru maharaj himself got that young lad to remove the meat, I leave these things to him. I just need to worry about where my mind is, and how much seva and abyass i have done that day. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  16. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare veer khalistani ji, I think Baba Gurbachan singh ji Bindrawale was mentioned, not Baba jarnail singh ji. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  17. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, rather than praising baba ji, I know he was special. But surely it should Dhan the Shabad Guru, sahib Siri Guru Granth sahib ji, that creates Gursikhs like these. Dhan Shabad Guru. "Guru moorat Gur shabad hai". Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  18. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! pyare jio, just seen the news debate on CNN. The reasoning by the French goverment is that it is all about muslims, and paranioa of them. The far right Le Pen Govt were going to announce it in their manifesto for elections next year. Chirac knows its populist, and is doing it himself. Their excuse being this is a Christian country, and it is being dominated by foriegn cultures. They also use the excuse of how non-muslims are treated in muslim countries, which I admit is a very valid point. As alway i fear, that is this non-offical war between the West and Islam, sikhs once again will be caught by both sides, and will suffer. This is very shameful for France considering their are so many Sikhs shaheed on French soils and so many monument to commerate them. But their next generation will be disallowed to follow their religion, a religion which sacrificed to save France. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! P.S. there will be many debates on this on various news channels, and news groups. Everyone do something practical and phone in, and email. Lets get a sikh perspective heard on this. I tried to phone CNN, but was unable to get through.
  19. Bani of Sahib Siri Guru Tegh Bahadhur Ji JIO SAPNA AR PEKHNA AISE JAG KO JAN P1427 Aad Granth Sahib Ji THE WORLD IS A STAGE Know this world to be transient like a dream, The stage on which we act and depart; Nothing in it is true and lasting, says Nanak, Besides he, The Light of God. Translated by Bhai Tarlochan Singh ji. Sahib Guru Tegh Bahadhur Ji, does not accept this world as a dream or illusion, as in some other religions. In Sikhism, human existence has two aspects, the Everlasting creative truth in it and the transient material panorama of nature. The material structure of human existence keeps on changing like the scenes of the theatre, while Man acts many parts in it and departs. The man who limits his vision to the bounds of a his narrow earthly stage and is shifting scenes, an unmanned who accept for money and material comforts only is none better than a monkey or an elephant in the circus showbusiness. But the man who is conscious of the creative spirit behind his acting and feels a touch of the eternal spirit behind his histrionic art, is like a saint who moves in this world, a stage, like inspired actor conscious of his role in the divine drama of God. Sahib Siri Guru Gobind Singh Ji states " I have come to the first to witness this world drama (jagat tamasha), and acted my part given to me by God. Gursikhs are conscious of the part they are destined to play in the world drama.
  20. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Bhai niranjan, strange how you just assumed Baba Ram singh had a nihang background? Not that it matters, but it is an assumption. I just asssume everyone is part of the Guru khalsa Panth. That is what they are dedicated to and sacrificed for. Wy do groups insist on having names of great sikhs attached to them. It does not prove anything. Anyway something interesting I found out today from my local GP. He is an english doctor. We were discussing iron defficiency. He said many people can have this. Usually we get most iron from red meat, but as sikhs are vegetarians, they lack this. Iron is need apparently in heamoglobin in the red blood cells. If your body is lacking it then, it can cause fatigue. We discussed foods that have iron, he recommended beetroots, leafy vegetables. I mentioned in India, some sikhs have for centuries been eating out of iron bowls, and even cook in them. He became fascinated by this. He said that was amazing. These people must have known about how important iron is to balance a vegetarian diet. Cooking and eating in iron bowls, will surely help balance this out. He was just amazed how people naturally have done these things over time. This is not to push sarbloh on anyone. I am not myself. Just some interesting thoughts. Any other knowledgeable medics who can confirm or deny this. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  21. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! pyare jio, the books are eternal glory, by Brigadier Pratap singh jaspal. then you have harbans singh doabia books, and numerous punjabi artciles in punjab papers. When I first read about Baba Nand singh Ji, I found the books, articles and katha, concentrated alot on miracles that happened around Baba Ji. Considering that Gurmat is against miracles, but I have often see miracles do happen around abyassi people. This is not intentional, but just bhana. Much of the parchaar, especially katha on Baba ji concentrates alot on miracles. For example, he saw a carpenter. The carpenter had cut some pieces of wood wrong. When baba ji came, the pieces suddenly became right size, etc. (Very over simplistic example) This kind of parchaar reduces Baba Nand singh ji to be made out to be just a miracle worker. I really do not think they do justice to him. It was only later when I got more into Baba Attar singh ji Mastuana wale, than read more about Baba Nand singh ji again. Then I re ad punjabi articles, about how he used to Amrit vela on a branch of a tree, above a shappur. Or how he used to tie his kesh to a peg. Or how he never let any building remain for people to Puuj him. Then you realise his dedication to abyass, and Gurmat. I just wish this side of him to shown more, rather than miracles. Did he ever write anything? Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  22. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, I have read alot of books on Baba Nand singh ji. He seemed like a very abyassi gursikh. But some books contradict each other, I think this is due to over-zealous followers. I just wanted to know, if there anything the Baba Nand Singh ji wrote himself? Possibly letters, articles, or eye witness accounts of him, recordings, etc. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  23. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, thats fine veer ji. I think you will find what most Namdaari sangat actually do, and what Bhai Ram Singh preached is very different. mainly based on how they treat him. I believe Bhai Ram singh to be a very accomplished Gursikh. The letters to which I refer where written by him, when he was in jail, due to British. It has been a while since I read it, but I believe he was sent to Rangoon. Either he or possibly Bhai Maharaj Singh ji, another jeevan wale gursikh, who fought against the british. His jeevan katha was very similar so forgive me for confusing the two. Bhai Ram Singh wrote many letters telling the sangat what to do. He protests quite vigourously about the way the Namdaari sangat had started equated him to a Guru. He wished the sangat to only treat him as a Gursikh. These letters were scan copied, and printed in the book. Then the book went into detail about him, his lifestyle, where it mentioned his daily routine, including sarbloh, also his level of abyass, and how he did parchaar. It was a very good book. Hopefully, i will meet that Gursikh again who borrowed it from my little library, and I will read it agian. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  24. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Gathka is the traditional fighting art in India. It has been around long before the Guru shaibaans. Although sikhi is truth, it is Aad sach, Jugaad sach, hai bhi sach, Nanak Hose Bhi sach. Sikhi is the truth, and the truth has always existed. However gathka has been in India for centuries. I have read some thoeries, that the Buddhists, who originally were the majority religion is India, were massacred, and pushed into Tibet by Hindus. They took the gathka, and developed it into the various forms of kung fu, which then spread into China, then japan. Guru Sahibs refined gatkha and gave the martial training a spiritual purpose, creating harmony between both. Veer jis point about the lack of martial training is completely valid. Although I may disagree with him, not nihangism, sampradayas, and hindu mythology. One thing is clear far too many sikhs, especially Amritdharis are pacifists, which is not gurmat. Or many are unable to defend themselves when required, which is why so many sikhs lost so much in Delhi roits. We should learn from this and return to not just being sants, but sant siphahis. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  25. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, naranjana, Baba Ram Singh nam dhari was a strict sarblohi. I read it in a book of his jeevan, based upon some of his letters, and accounts. Unfortunately, the book was borrowed from me and never returned, so I am unable to give you the ISBN number. He had no link with nihangs as far as i know, plus he was an ultra-strict vegetarian, hence the movement for burning butcher shops in Amritsar. Please stick to facts and aviod word association.
