1. he speaks very rudely against Taksal and sounds like him and AKJ did everything. does 1996 count as diificult days? because Joginder Singh Ji did involve the rehat issues when Taksal and AKJ decided to join together. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh 100500 waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, the meeting I mentioned happened in early 1981, when the movement against the Nirankaris was in full flow, and it was just beginning against the GOI. What happened later in the late 80`s and early 90`s was very much different. Many of the best Singhs in both Taksal and BKI had been shaheed by now. The new generation were more freedom fighters because of human rights issues, rather than believing in some kind of specific Khalsa Raj. Looking back it is easy to blame maryada issues for ruining a movement. It is true raagmala was used extensively to divide the jujarhroos. However we have to look at who was responsible for that. Principally it was the GOI, but the role of Jasbir singh Rode as the Akal thakht Jathedar at that time can not be ignored. There was no problems between the Taksal of Baba Jarnial singh and the Babbars of Jathedar Sukhdev Singh singh. Both understood their roles and had mutual respect for each others actions. But there were problems between Bibi Harsharan kaur ( now of Panchain) and Jasbir Singh Rode. Incidentally neither were involved in the movement to scale where their beliefs would lead to their shaheedis. Many people , especially writers of these poor history books used on many websites stated Bibi Amarjit kaur was against Baba Jarnial Singh. This shows very poor research. She never made any statements against him, only Bibi Harsharan kaur did. In all groups you have the good and bad. I class jathedar Sukhdev Singh and baba Jarnail singh Ji as the good, and jasbir Singh Rode and Bibi harsharan kaur in the latter. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh P.s. Akaal or neo, Or If I remember correctly Barinderjit Singh ( correct me if I am wrong). Please do not stir with false rumours, it is so unbecoming of a Gursikh. A key virtue of a gursikh is a bring clarity of truth where there is doubt and dubda.
2. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, if that pics is real then it is amazing we still have a picture of him. Is he the one sitting down? Common knowledge of Maharaja Ranjit singh was that his eye was injured in battle. I am not sure if this picture is him. Also there is a pencil portrait done of him by a lady artist. He looks very different in that. What is the source of this picture? waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
3. Waheguru ji kekhalsa,w aheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, Singh ji, I was not having a go. There is enough of that on other forums already. Plus there is no need for titles, everyone knows me as just Jagjit Singh. I am not head of anything, neither have any intention to be. You maybe too young to remember, but in 80`s and 90`s, in papers it was said baba ji was in pakistan. But when rest of the jujahroo leaders based themselves in Pakistan. then it was said baba ji was in Afganistan. Later it was just said he was in Chardi kalan. Every Gursikh who has done great seva like he did is always in Chardi kalan. Many years ago, I wrote an article after interviewing a senior Singh in the BKI. He was in the complex during Opertaion Blue Star. He witnessed Bhai Mehal Singh, brother of Shaheed Jathedar Bhai Sukhdev Singh. He was in Baba Atal sahib. On the last days of the attack, he spoke to baba ji via a telephone link the singhs had set up between the Baba Atal Sahib and the Siri Akal Takht Sahib. Bhai Mehal Singh said to Baba Jarnial Singh that he can send two singhs via the sewar system to get him out. But Baba Ji said he has done "ardas" and he will fight to the end. None of us should have ever doubted his bachan. Thats all. waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
4. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, it is about time Baba Jarnail singh ji got his due credit for being a "keni and karni wale Gursikh". I hope those who still propogate that he ran away to Pakistan or Afganistan, realise that it they are the ones who did the "sant Ki Ninda". It is very easy saying it to others when they challenge your beliefs, but this is a real case where this mahaan Gursikh had his legacy tainted by this very political decision that was taken 20 years ago. The photos of his shaheedi roop have always spoken for themselves. Currently all jathebandis are going through problems. AKJ has minor had splits, but this was only because they consciously have started removing those who have become GOI agents from their ranks. Nanaksar has a real problem with their shady babas and young girls, and too much money. It is good Taksal is trying to address the problems within itself aswell. Sometimes these things are painful for those who are very attached to their groups. We should realise attachment is also a vikaar. Our attachemnt should only be too Gursikhs, their virtues, Gurbani and seva. Then these things are not painful, but we realise they are an essential part of evolvement of the Panth. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
5. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, this is not true. Sant ji and the babaars got on very well. I have written about this extensively after interviewing the peronalities involved. Some books mention it, and like all bad historians, rather than interviewing and doing the research, some writers have just copied those before. The GOI wanted trouble between the two groups. Sant ji, Bhai Amolak singh (now in Austrailia) and the late Bhai Joginder SIngh Talwara agreed before 1984 that no rehit issues would be used to split the Panth in them difficult days. Everyone stuck to their words. Also detailed interviews of Bibi Amarjit kaur ( wife of Bhai Fauja Singh) also confirm that much of this is not true. Books claimed she made statemnts against Sant Ji. She did not it was Bibi Harsharan kaur, (now in Panchain). If you do a search of articles, you will come across much of the research done into this matter. Do not believe everything you hear from self-interest groups, or read in books from dodgy historians. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
6. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, it is always good to practice the Gursikh lifestyle before taking Amrit. I did it for one year, doing everything an amritdhari does apart from wearing a kirpan. This was just to not give the wrong impression that i was an Amritdhari, as I was only practicing. You can still do amritvela nitnem, and keep this regular. Gurbani says the more you prepare the soil beforehand, the better the harvest. Before taking Amrit, I read Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh ji book, the meaning of Sikh Baptism. This is available of many websites now. I found it fascinating. It asks many searching questions, such as the real reasons why you are taking Amrit? I would advise anyone taking Amrit to read this book first. It is excellent. Even now after 10 years since taking Amrit. I still occassionally read it. I still find new things in it. Lastly when taking AMrit, while waiting outside do as much abyass of mool manter as possible. When taking Amrtit always focus on the batta when they make the Amrit. Plus do not leave the Amrit sanchaar until you have a definitive understanding of Naam. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
7. waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, about 3 years ago, i remember watching the march. It was the same old people doing the same old speechs in punjbai. Gore were totally bemused. Then I saw Bhai Roop Singh Leeds going around to all the gore around the park spending 5 minutes talking to them about what is happening. They greatly appreciated this. Last year was very good with loads of youth handing out literature in english. We have to learn to engage people about the issue of 1984. This can only be done in communication in english in a non-confrontational manner. Elders shouting their heads of, and burning effugies, just makes us look like militants. The youth need to be far more prominent, even more than last year to make this march have a real effect on people. waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh P.s. It would also be excellent to have dedicated youth team to look after the press. We did this when we did the Protest march outside the French embassy on the turban issue. It came in sky news, BBC and ITN. It is amazing the fact that the 1984 march nevers gets covered. Alot due to indian gov pressure, but possibly also because our organisers need more professional youth help.
8. waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, I have to say I am a fan of Bhai harpreet Singh, and suprisingly no seems to have mentioned Bhai Rajinder Singh ji Singapore, who I think is easily the most talented keertani I have ever come across. But saying this, we have to remember there is no difference between a keertani Singh or one who does joorian de seva, or langar dee seva. At the end of the day they are all sevadaars. We should not make keertanis into superstars, it is very detrimental to their jeevans. It is not the keertanis that make samgams, but the Guru bani. We should always aim to just do vadiaeeye of Shabad Guru, not those who do keertan. waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
9. waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, I remember about 8 years ago, myself and some Gursikhs were climbing Snowden in north UK. As we were approaching the summit, an elderly englishman came up to me. he was walking downwards. He smiled and approached stating he had served in Ludhiana during the commonwealth. He spoke really highly of sikhs, and was slightly emotional at seeing another sikh. Makes you glad the previous generations had such a good impact on people. waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
10. Part 3…………. Waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, most youth today know what a nightmare Gurdwara Elections can be. Many have experienced them first hand at their local Gurdwaras. Slough was once, one those towns saved from this. (see email – Demise of Sikhism in Slough below). However times have changed and Slough has also fallen foul to it. The key to the unity and peace in slough was the Gurdwara never had any elections in its 10-15,000 sikh community. It used the Parchhi system. Basically there was a constitution, which had a 25 member Committee, with the Top 11 positions reserved for Amritdharis only. Each position had a criteria of skills, and only those who fit these skills applied. All the applications were scrutinised. Then all the names were collated, and the names for each position were put into a small black bag in front of the sangat. Then a child from the sangat was selected, and the child pulled out one name in front of Guru Maharaj Hazori and the sangat. Whoever`s name came out did the seva for the next year. So Simple, and purely Guru Jis Will who got seva, so no-one complained. Slough Gurdwara committees were made in 15 minutes, with no sangat fighting or unnecessary election expense. The Committees always were based with people who loved the Gurdwara and were active and willing sevdaars. The problem with elections are that they are based not on seva, but on Who can get the most people on their side. This is fine if it is based upon the issues and manifestos, but unfortunately punjabi elections in particular are not. Unfortunately the majority of the younger sangat get put off by any sign of politics, and many elder sangat cannot read or write. This results in election being won by arm twisting, blackmailing, buying people out, spreading false rumours, and generally all the things Gurmat is anti. It divides the community into factions which is anti-Gurmat. It divides families. An example is Slough which has one Bisla brother supporting the councillors, and the others supporting the youth. Friends get divided, and peoples loyalties get questioned especially at crunch time. Most of all the process can be long, and it breaks people "Sharda". The SGPC is in such a bad situation because it went away from positive selection based on knowledge, seva, principles, and ability, to a system where whoever supports Badal gets in. Kaljug dominates our world, how can we expect this kaljug to go against its natural instincts and push forward Gurmat. Clearly in Slough, the youth have won this argument and the councillors and their egos even went on Punjab radio to debate in favour of elections, but clearly anyone who has faith in Guru Maharaj and true Sharda for Seva will always have faith in the Paarchi system. Fortunately more and more youth are now paying interest. The one thing Is clear, youth whether Amritdhari, non-amritdhari or Mone, they all have A sincere nature and want the Gurdwaras to be special places where the community and come together in a positive manner. Will these youth get a chance? Maybe in some towns they will. Singh Sabha Bradford is a model Gurdwara for developing youth and youth ideas for the benefit of the Gurdwara. Equally this reflects in the nature of the sangat and sevadaars, which has a majority of young children and teenagers. However in towns like Slough, as more elder councillors are getting retired they are just using the Gurdwara for their Pindo war games. I would ask youth in all towns to put forward to their local Gurdwaras In towns where elections have decimated the sangat into factions. Present To the sangat an alternative which is a paarchi system. If people need a Full Gurdwara constitution showing how Paarchi system works, then we can send the old slough one to them. There are two types of people in this world. One who watch things happen, and one who makes things happen. Lets be the latter. Rather than watching wrong happening in our Gurdwras, lets do what we can to bring change for the better, in the hope our next generation will witness more Gurmat in our Gurdwaras. Waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
11. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, as mentioned before in a previous post the youth have decided to enter the elections in Slough Gurdwara. The youth are not in favour of elections, but in the traditional Paarchi system. Most of this is explained in the below email, "The Demise of Sikhism In Slough". (A following email called Elections vs Paarchi System will discuss it further). Sunday 1st May, was scheduled to be election day, but due to disputes between the independent Election commission and the Councillors/Sher Group/ruling committee group. It has been delayed for two weeks. Usually in elections, it is the two opposing groups at each others throats. But the carear Punjabi politicians of slough are fighting with the sangat selected independent and un-bias election commission. It came to head, when it was revealed that the councillors are now so scared of losing that they tried to disband the election commission, and run the election themselves. Hence they would hear their own objections and count the votes themselves. So being "judge and jury" on themselves. This is their idea of a "Fair Election". However the 5 member Election Commission won a reprieve from the Charity Commission to stop this bullying from the current committee. Hence the Election Commission did get the full authority to look at objections, and as a result disqualified four people for complaints ranging from criminal convictions, to sleaze allegations. Allegedly today, they even went to High Court to get an injunction against the Election commission but where refused. Rumours in slough were rife that the election had been cancelled. But their plan has failed, and all their threats to ruin people lives in the Election Commission with lengthy court cases funded by the Gurdwara Golak have for now stopped. Now the Election is scheduled for this Sunday 15th May. The youth stood mainly to bring back paarchi system, highlight sikh Youth issues, ensure Gurmat is upheld, support the good work of groups like SCAN,Khalsa Aid, and support sikh school project and punjabi school in slough. The youth figured win or lose, lets at least present an alternative to what was going to be the usual one party Councillors group election. At least the Gurdwara will have an agenda to work to. The councillors group wanted their one party election, in which they were guaranteed success, rather than a Paarchi system, which the mainstream sangat would prefer and enter. At the time the youth knew they would lose, due the majority of Slough sangat, which numbers 10-15,000 not being aware of any election by the deadline for membership of 1st January. It was decided by the Pardan by lieing, against the wishes of the majority AGM, a few weeks later. Most people thought it would be Paarchi system, so did not bother becoming members. The councillors group/ruling party had a pre-plan so they made their vote banks to guarantee their success. The total membership rose from around usual 500 being just around 1400 from the possible 10,000. But the youth thought lets have faith in Guru Maharaj has present a Gurmat alternative, a strong manifesto, with a realistic future 2 year plan for the Gurdwara. Such has been the response from the sangat to finally after many years A real and appealing opposition has had the guts to stand up against these councillors, that the youth are now confident of victory in the upcoming elections. The youth party has grown to encompass representatives of the Punjabi School Parent teachers Association, the kabbadi boys, the educationalists, businessmen, other local councillors, aswell as experienced Gurdwara Amritdhari sevadaars, and youth. It is a real coalition of all Groups who want change in slough. The "Unity for Change" has been strong and effective, creating a party called the "Panthik Ekta party". The agenda put forward has been strong within the manifesto. The Councillors/ruling party have now also had to produce a manifesto Which basically copies the ideas from the youth one, with their usual divide and rule policies to break the sangat. The youth are happy because at least these issues about our future are being discussed. The councillors now state they will bring youth forward, which is ironic considering their party has an average age of around 60, but the youth one averages around 30-35. Secondly why are they now realised youth need support, when the youth have created their own party? They have dominated the Gurdwara in the last 4 years, have they been asleep? Why have groups like SCAN, Khalsa Aid, Sikh School Trust, and local youth had no support, or even never been allowed to speak on stage or distribute literature within the gurdwara? If they are now pro-youth, then why are Slough workshops/youth club happening in a Council owned community centre rather than a gurdwara? Why were the kids at the Nagar keertan who were collecting money in buckets for Sikh School threatened with arrest from Police? WHY ARE CAR WINDOWS OF THE VEHICLES OF SIKH YOUTH BEING SMASHED SUSPICIOUSLY? Last time the youth stood against wrong-doers in the gurdwara, the youth minibus break lines were cut! Why is there no transparency in the Gurdwara process? Even some Committee members have complained that committee members are not informed of what is going on? Their own four senior committee members even began legal proceedings with them over this issue. So as we wait for the ruling group/Sher Party and the election commision to sort out their problems, the youth/baaj group are ready and confident. If the membership was open, the youth would easily win. The majority of Slough sangats wants change and wants more youth involved. Over 120 sikhs from amritdhari families alone are not members, but we feel their own councillor families are being swayed by what youth have to offer. In the end it is not about winning or losing, it is about what is best for the Gurdwara. Our Gurdwaras need to have a future. Our Sangat needs to realise they can speak against wrong. Our youth need to realise the Gurdwara is their sanctuary. Lastly we need to our Gurdwaras leaders to be afraid to doing wrong in the presence of the sangat and the Sahib Siri Guru Granth Sahib ji. Everything that has already happened has happened because One Pardan thought he could in the presence of the Guru Granth sahib ji and the whole sangat, over-rule the sangat in favour of his own desire for elections over Paarchi. Today Guru maharaj himself as directed such a bhana, that the very sangat he presided over has revolted against him. Even today, the current committee know that all this election nonsense Can stop at any time, by having faith in Guru Maharaj and adopting the Paarchi system. The youth has always said, take all of those who have gone through the nomination process and place them in a bag, let a child pick them out one by one in Guru Maharajs presence, and who ever gets the seva, so be it. It is Guru Jis will. The paarchi system is ideal, no one gets upset, everyone does seva, no gurdwara expense, no dividing the sangat, no dividing families, no groupism, just a simple method in which a new committee is chosen within 15 minutes. We cannot get easier than that. If only we all had such faith in our Guru, life would be so much easier.. .. Waheguru ji kehalsa, waheguru ji kefateh P.S. Any youth in slough who are members vote for the Youth, vote for Baaj group (Falcon) > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Jagjit Singh [mailto:jagjitsingh@f...] > Sent: 06 April 2005 19:17 > To: > Subject: FW: The Demise Of Sikhism In Slough The Demise of Sikhism in Slough (a long article, but important to read,...) Pyare jio, Slough has always been an important town in the UK Sikhi scene. It is next to Southall has probably the 3rd largest sangat attendance in UK. The sangat in Slough has always been peaceful and Panthik. During the years of the late 80`s and early 90`s of the Khalistan Movement, Slough was the one stage where everyone had complete freedom of speech. Many leaders called Singh Sabha Slough, the "Hyde Park Corner" of UK Gurdwaras. The key to the unity and peace in slough was the Gurdwara never had any elections in it 10-15,000 sikh community. It used the Parchhi system. Basically there was a constitution, which had a 25 member Committee, with the Top 11 positions reserved for Amritdharis only. Each position had a criteria of skills, and only those who fit these skills applied. All the applications were srutinised. Then all the names were collated, and the names for each position were put into a small black bag in front of the sangat. Then a child from the sangat was selected, and the child pulled out one name in front of Guru Maharaj Hazori and the sangat. Whoevers name came out did the seva for the next year. So Simple, and purely Guru Jis will who got seva, so no-one complained. Slough Gurdwara committees were made in 15 minutes, with no sangat fighting or unnecessary election expense. The Committees always were based with people who loved the Gurdwara and were active and willing sevdaars. All groups used to be represented from AKJ, Taksal, Congress, Communists, Akali, Kabaddi players, businessman. Yes, there were disputes and arguments occasionally, but these were always confined to the committee room, and never in the sangat. There was alot of unity in Slough, because we all were based at the same Gurdwara. When problems came along with Pakistani youth, our community were united and dealt with it effectively. There was alot of mutual respect and pyaar. Slough had UK biggest punjabi school which operated for over 30 years and was averaging 300-400 children a week. The Gurdwara was the most powerful institutional vioce, even in the Council. All MP`s flocked to it to get votes. Singh Sabha ran week-long Sikh camps with 400+ youth attending. It had the one the strongest sikh youth groups in UK. It had a monthly magazine, and Amrit vela programmes 4am everyday. During the early 90`s, when every Gurdwara in Uk had some fighting, court cases or election disputes, many writers used Slough as an ideal example of how a community should run a Gurdwara. Then around year 2000 everything seemed to change....... A terrestial TV channel either BBC2 or Channel 4 ran a documentary exposing Slough Punjabi Labour Councillors involved in corruption in the Local Council. All of those named were sacked. The Slough community were quite shocked and saw it as a slur on the community. Looking back this was now the pivitol changing point in Slough Gurdwara history. These Councillors who "Egos" needed them to remain at the forefront of the community flooded into the Gurdwara. The Gursikhs who ran the Gurdwara did not really mind, as their Gurdwara was never seen as anyone`s possesion, just open to the whole community. However upon coming into the committee they set about their plan... At the same time, Bhai Hari Singh Sewak, a long time Niskam sevadaar in slough who was Headmaster of the Punjabi school, along with senior Gursikhs from Singh Sabha, and Ramgarhia Gurdwara, seeing the demise our youth into drugs, gangs and bullying started working on setting up of the Slough Sikh School. This was a big problem for the Councillors who saw their dream project of building a wedding hall for parties in Slough being threatened by the Sikh School project. Hence they did a secret alliance with some really dodgy khalistanis, Communists, and the Congresses to scrap the Parcchi system and introduce Gurdwara Elections. They knew this would work and give them totally control, because the Amritdharis in Slough, were completely against elections in Slough, and would never stand on principle. Hence Slough saw the farce, of a Gurdwara Election with only one party standing. Then they went to work bringing the darkest period of the Gurdwara history. By now the Sikh youth camps, youth magazine, Amrit velas had stopped. Slough Sikh Youth projects like Khalsa Aid were targetted and so were Slough youth. Most towns would have been proud of Khalsa Aid, but these councillors saw it as a threat to them. Hari Singh Sewak was targetted, and so were the families who supported ediucation and sikhi. This led to "fit ups" and false allegations against Singh and families, which led to court cases. Something which had never happened in Slough before. The councillors lost the case but just used the Gurdwara Golak money to save themselves. This led to more court cases. The Amritdhari librarian was assaulted because he spoke up, the sikh youth mini-bus has its brakelines cut, and Police was now a regular observer of the Sikh community in Slough. Slowly the demise was in full effect..... After the Councillors committee itself split due to too many egos which has led to more court cases, and use of Golak money. The Slough Sikh School Project was salvaged by Hari Singh Sewak and new young sevdaars like Nick Kandola, and with Guru Maharajs kirpa it will be completed soon. But the school needs money, which the Gurdwara is not prepared to support it. The Gurdwara has almost £700,000 in the bank, but will not support the school, the gym, the footballers or any youth project. Instead it is happily buying 3 houses as a property investment for rent. Khalsa Aid was promised money, which was not given. The Parent Teachers Association at Punjabi School raised money for it, but were threatened when they gave it to Khalsa Aid. The bibian in the Gurdwara raised £25, 000 for the Sikh School Project, but the committee stopped it and put it into their own account. The youth of slough are bullied so much in schools by Pakistani youth, that they were totally demoralised. Neither Gurdwara would support them and provide sanctuary, and eventually Slough Sikh youth have arranged with a the Slough Council a Community Youth Center were the youth between 14-18 now get together, where now 150 are registered. The Slough Gurdwara stage which was before open to everyone, is now so censored, that only the Councillors group are allowed to speak. Even the Sikh School Trust have never been allowed to speak or hand out leaflets inside the Gurdwara. Instead they have had to sometimes stand in the rain outside informing the sangat about the school, and occasionally verballing threatened by the committee. Knowing that the Gursikhs would still not stand in a Gurdwara Election, at the AGM the Councillors were desperate for another election this time. The Slough Sik h Youth turned up on the odd chance they would be able to speak, voice their case for the Youth, Sikhi, the school and the Paarchhi system. Such was the impact of the Youth at the AGM, that the majority of the sangat supported their views. In a panic the President closed the AGM lying in front of Guru ji and the whole sangat, saying the sangat is in favour of Elections. The sangat was shocked as now one had even voted, and the majority was clearly in favour of re-introducing the Paarchi system. So now here we are..... The Gurdwara Elections. The Gursikhs will not stand because of principle, but the Youth have decided enough is enough... "We want Sikhi back in the Gurdwara, We want our Youth back in the Gurdwara". The youth will stand for election. We know we are 80% likely to lose because we never made our vote banks like they did. Neither have we involved ourselves in dirty politics by expelling members with no real reason, who support the youth. But the Youth are standing to present an alternative to the sangat and a new voice. We have already won by showing the sangat, that only the Youth have the guts to stand up to these people. The election is just a first step to bring change to Slough through the Movement called "Unity For Change". This movement will grow and it already has bringing together all those people in Slough who Love their Gurdwara and their Community, and will speak the Truth, and work in a Niskam fashion to bring Change.... Today we see a Governing Commitee who are picking their party not by who supports which Sikh Community issue, but by who is a Councillor, and a Stage Secretary is chosen because he runs a catering business, and wants a monopoly of all birthday parties and weddings. The members of the community who support the Youth are told their positions in the Labour party will be threatened and their kids will not become Councillors, unless they support the current committe. Or their planning permissions will not be passed unless they support the Councillors. In last few days 9 epople took Amrit. I thought that was good. But talk in sangat has highlighted that it these Councillors who had taken Amrit just to make up the positions in their party. One elder stated to me, "Even Amrit is now a plaything for their power games". I was really shocked, people taking Amrit just for a plastic chair in a committee room which you can buy in Tesco for £10. How much sacrilege of Sikhi can anyone do? Akali style Badal politics is rife. We all want change in India, but first we need to bring change in our Towns. We need Panthik Gurdwaras and Strong Sikh Communities. This is why we need the "Unity For Change" Movement as a long term strategy for change to stop the demise of Sikhism in Slough. May ALL those Who Love Sikhi Do Ardas For Us Youth To Bring Change!

13. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, the khalsa never boycott Gurdwaras. If we read our history, the khalsa instead brought Sudar to nankana sahib, harmandar sahib, etc. The khalsa just need ardasan. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh

The Amritdhari librarian was assaulted because he spoke up, the sikh youth mini-bus has its brakelines cut, and Police was now a ragular observer of the Sikh community in Slough. The bibian in the Gurdwara raised £25,000 for the Sikh School Project, but the committee stopped it and put it into their own account. The Slough Sikh Youth turned up on the odd chance they would be able to speak, voice their case for the Youth, Sikhi, the school and the Paarchhi system. The Gursikhs will not stand because of principle, but the Youth have decided enough is enough.... But talk in sangat has highlighted that it was these Councillors who had taken Amrit just to make up the positions in their party.
15. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, I met Bhai Sukhpreet Singh last year when he attended my wedding In India. He is a nice Gursikh. The GURSIKH group is an organisation of young Sikh writers which include Amardeep singh Amar, Ratinder Singh etc. All of them have done immense work for the Khalsa Panth. At the same time they have had alot of hardships aswell. Amardeep has survived 2 attempts on his life. Ratinder Singh was severely tortured leaving him almost blind, and also injected with slow poisons. He also has numerous false cases on him by Punjab Police. Dr Sukhpreet Singh has written a 900 page book exposing the activities of the RSS. The RSS chief himself phoned him up and offered him positions and immense riches to join them, but he has refused. Instead he has faced death threats. The publisher of his book has now pulled out due to threats from RSS. He is currently looking for a publisher and funding. The RSS chief specifically said to him, that if you do not join us, I will get your own sikhs to destroy you. Actioning this policy, when Sukhpreet Singh went to Canada, a so-called sikh organisation tried to defame him, and set him up in a position to question his character. But Guru Maharaj himself saved his sikh. These youth like Sukhpreet Singh, Amardeep singh are the same age as many of us, late 20`s. They do very good seva in very hard circumstances. They need our support and ardass. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
16. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, If Bhai balbir Singh rejects snaatanism, what is his stand on the various aspects of the nihang rehat? waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
17. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, what is the current position of Bhai Balbir singh? Does he believe in snaatanism? We here so many conflicting reports about Santa singh. Does he really condone or condemn the Uk lot? waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
18. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, The kakkars are given to you before your peshi before the Amrit Sanchaar. The Peridaar will not let you go in with out full ishnaan, and 5 kakaars. There is usually a Singh and a bibi outside the Amrit sanchaar to help you with any quieries. If you have any detailed questions, then any questions can be asked of the Panj Pyeares. If anybody has any transport quieries, they can contact AKJ Uk general Secretary - Onkar Singh on 07956528735 waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Presonally I always advise people to read Bhai sahib book "amrit Ki hai" (Meaning Of Sikh Baptism) before they take Amrit. This ensures they know what they are doing, and are doing it for the right reasons. It is only a small books, about 20 pages long, but very beneficial.
19. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, you should clean the sangats shoes and do abyass at the same. Otherwise you will get ego from doing your seva. Below is a mail I wrote a while ago. A singh today just put it on sikhi unleashed. It covers these topics. The posts happens to be about Bhai Rama Singh ji. From: "jagjit singh" Date: Mon Aug 5, 2002 9:33 am Subject: Bhai sahib ji and Kamai Waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, sometimes Bhai sahib would speak to us youth about how we should do more kamai. He would say that kamai is very underestimated, and not everyone realises how important it is. Once he said to me, that youth think that by doing the occasional amritvela, or rainsbhai, that they are of good jeevans. But he said, it is much more than that. He said after a little kamai, they wonder why nothing happens to them, why they have not reached sackhand. It takes great Udham to achieve Gurmat. He said, just to get Naam flowing inside you, you need to have a strong amritvela routine for a least a month, but people do it for a few days, and expect miracles. He would say much Udham is required by the youth in abyass. He also emphasised the need for doing your abyass on a gupt level. When I was living in the South, there was a regular rountine of the monthly jatha rainsbhai, and then the monthly local kids rainsbhai. On the other weekends, Bhai sahib and about 4-5 youth would get together at a house in Southall for abyass. upstairs in the house, there was a small room, with Parkash of Guru maharaj. About 5-6 of these Gursikhs naujawan, who I will not name, and bhai sahib would start simran at 9-10pm, and continue till 3am, and then do nitnem. Afterwards they would go to simran at Singh sabha. These programmes were in them days regular, and I was sometimes invited to these programmes. i used to feel very priveleged to be in the company of these Gursikhs. These programmes were excellent. Once I mentioned to the youth, that these programmes were happening, and the more people who come the better. But most were put off by the length of the programmes. After this, Bhai Sahib said to me, that abyass which is done should remain gupt. Gupt abyass has much "phaal." He said it is gupt abyass that is going to build your jeevan. He also greatly emphasised the value of "jorian de seva". He would have a handkerchief in his pocket, and would carefully clean the shoes, and then wipe the handkercheif on his forehead. He would tell us to always do simran, when doing this sewa, otherwise it will give you ego, that you are doing joorian de seva. Bhai sahib said to me once, whenever you do any seva, whether talking, keertan, or anything, always do joorian de seva first. then when you walk into the darbaar in front of maharaj, you mind will be on the floor, in his charan, no ego will enter. Then you will see how Maharaj blesses the seva. To really understand Bhai sahib, you need someone who has also done kamai. i am not that person, only a person who understands naam, can discuss its virtues. I am just sharing somethings Bhai sahib said to me. Hopefully those who understand naam, will find something in this. Waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
20. waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, I had a iriver HP140 for many months. A very good machine, much better than a ipod. It is a bit bulker, but you can record direct which is good for dictation, and recording live keertan. Never regretted buying it, but did not like the brown case. Since about 1 month ago, I have replaced with the 40GB Iriver PMP, which is similar machine, but with decent screen for watching keertan films, or giving my brothers kids something to watch in the car. It is good for transferring pictures aswell. waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
21. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, it is good to see North is going well. I just had chance to view some pics. All of you guys are really growing up, or maybe I am just sounding too old. In future, a quick benti, I have also felt the strength of North is Leeds and Bradford Youth working together. Together you have so many blessings. Youth like Kamaljit Singh, Gurvinder Singh, Ravinder Singh, and two in particular Bhinderpal kaur and Bhupinder Singh. These two are very Gurmukh souls, which not everyone realises. They definately need to be encouraged to these events and speak in front of youth. Youth are instantly caught by their keertan and kamai. Both have humilty and enjoy the background, but when I was up there I always pushed them forward subtley. Now that Sikh week is finished, follow it up with regular programmes and get some of these youth down on evenings for talks. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
22. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji kefateh Pyare jio, from vancouver sun - seems like media protrayal will leave a lasting impression on some. malik and bagri should look at whether they can do a defamation of character case on Kim Bolan & Co. It could be a one-off thing, but innocent until proven guilty seems like a forgotten concept. Malik warehouse vandalized A Yaletown warehouse owned by the family of Ripudaman Singh Malik was broken into and vandalized early Thursday morning, less than a day after Malik was acquitted on charges he conspired to blow up two Air India jets and killed 331 people. waheguru ji kehalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
23. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, it is wonderful news. Words cannot describe my joy. I do not know these Gursikhs but I felt they were innocent. While The iron is hot, the family needs to ask the following questions:- 1. Every human has sympathy for the families of those who died, but now that the finger can no longer be pointed at the Singhs, what was the role of the indian governmnet? 2. A full public enquiry should happen to question the links between canadian intelligence, indian intelligence and the framing of these Singhs? 3. The media damage done to the Sikh image is irrepairable? What steps will taken by Canadian authorities about this? 4. Will Kim Bolan, the main mouthpiece of predjudice in her vile vendetta against sikhs be sacked? 5. Will the media also now examine the indian governmnet role in the bombing? 6. Bhai sahib jeevan singh was descibed as a terrorist mastermind? Apoligy is required? 7. Will the book "soft target" be considered, and put before the media? There are many more questions but this is a start.... Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
24. Waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, the above all proves that the only way to judge is to see the practices of each in accordance to Gurbani. Veer Akaal 108, I do wish you guys would use your real names. You have Gurmat names, why use false ones. If you stand by everything you say, then why be embarassed to use real names. Anyway, your link to the cyber museum, which I note was created by those who Uk followers of Niddar, instrimental in pushing these views on sampardays. I am sure many quotes would push anyway to their view. Such as how my Great Grandfather who was Babbar Akali and was hanged by British. He was an Tat khalsa, but books in India published on his jeevan claim him to be a communist, because they were written by communists lobby themselves. My regard of Baba Attar Singh varies from yours. My information comes directly from Akal Acedemy, which I think is the most reliable source of his jeevan, as it is his legacy. The picture you put of him without a kirpan, means nothing. How does that prove him to be a nirmala? This is a huge assumption of your part. Baba jiwas not perfect, he may have been brahamgiani, but so was Baba Buddha ji. Only Guru Ji was perfect, which is why the Guru-ship was passed to them, and not baba Buddha Ji. But this does not mean that Baba Buddha ji did not have an exceptional jeevan. The focal point is Gurbani. "Rehat pyari Muj ko, Sikh Pyar nahin." Most Nirmales, udasis etc, have no regard for Amrit, kakkars or rehait. Those who do fine, but those who donot do not fit into the khalsa brotherhood. If they do, then suddenly all sufis, buddhists, sadhus, Christians, Muslims, are also equally Khalsa. This is in complete contradiction to Gurbani, and only in line with hindu maat and their Ocean of hinduism idelogy, where every human is a Hindu even unless he is a muslim. Clearly from reading Guru kian saakian this is not the case, Sikhs are distinct in Roop, practice and nature. Your Quote:- Bhai Veer Singh and Sant baba gurbachan singh ji khalsa bhindranvaley were both affilated with taksal...difference one was affilated with bhai mani singh taksal and other was affilated with Damdami Taksal...both started by beloved dasmeh patsha Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Response Again, I have read all of Bhai Veer Singh jis books and many of his artisles. There is no mention of taksal. Neither does his trust which prints his books, in their jeevani mention it. Also in the first part of his jeevan, he was anti-raagmala, this position only changd when he had a dispute with another anti-raagmala scholar. So if he was a taksali, how come he was anti-raagmala at some time. Neither does he follow taksali rehit, according to their rehit maryada. My quote:- Your quote:-what's soo insulting about my statement?? I didn't deny the fact ultimate he gave his head to Guru Ji..all i said he was affilated with nirmaley not only that the fact is even now day- one such nirmaley sampardha called "Bhai Dya Singh Sampardha" which still exist today see- http://www.rarasahib.com/sg.htm for more information. Response:- Today RSS has units called Damdami Taksal, and AKJ, which are monas hindus who teach Gurbani katha, and do rainsbhais. Neither have any rehit, most are monas with white hats. Are we in 100 years going to accept them as real AKJ and Taksal? Again I dispute you to find any sources where Bhai Daya Singh did not accept the imprtance of Amrit, rehat, and kakkars. He was one of the Panj who gave sahib Siri Guru Gobind Singh ji Amrit after he begged for it. So how would he head an order which does not see Amrit as improtant? You do not give your head for something, then say it is not important? Your quote:- jagjit , i still owe you proof of sant singh maskin links with nirmaley..so stay tuned... Response:- Please email me on jagjitsingh@f2s.com aswell as putting it here as I am not a regular visitor. Your quote- regaring your claims above....this is to be noted without any reason....he called everything that didnt fit in his narrow view of sikhism as "anti panthik". Response Everyone who knows never call me narrow minded, please do not stick labels. Your quote:- last one question- why people feel soo insecure of existance of sikh sampardha's especially- udasi, nirmaley...i wonder if such people even had a discussion with nirmala or udasi in their real life. .. 88329 Response:- maybe if they did something positive for the panth people would recognise them. Simple things like take Amrit, keep rehit, do ishnaan, do seva simran anbd sacrifice for the Panth. AKJ and Taksal do this, hence they are respected. Udiasis have a history where they wre against Guru sahibaan themselves. Your websites forget to mention this. Udais and nirmales were the masands who ran the Gurdwaras which were freed by the Gurdwara Reform Movement. Hence they are anti-all Panthik Groups and why they call them Britsih. The reality is the Singh sabhas were panthik, and the Udais and Nirmales were in bed with British. My own Geat Grandfather was grassed up them, which led to his shaheedi. Please every youth think. Guru jis states "Jo Satgur ka Jo Sikh Akahia, So phal ke out har naam Dhiaee, Udham karai pahl khe Pahrbati, Ishnaan karia Amritsar Nahavai. " keep follwing these banis, and then judge Udaiss and Niramlas, then see if they are khalsa are not. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
25. waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru j kefateh Pyare jio, I would also add another dimention to your work. "Bindrawale- terrorist or Protector". If I was doing the paper i would add a section discussing terrorism. A terrorist is a person who directly terrorises people, inflicts harm or the threat of harm. Then look at the facts of punjab. Mass movement by sikhs between 1947 - 1978 - always remained peaceful. Violence entered the movement by Nirankaris, not sikhs by killing Bhai fauja Singh and 12 other gursikhs in 1978. Bindrawale comes to the fore and vioce of the Sikhs. Sikhs killed in Khapur, Delhi during protests. Lawlessness enters punjab. 1984 and Bindrawale is shaheed. Thousands killed in Operation Blue star, Operation Woodrose. Delhi riots killing 10-15,000 sikhs across India. 20 years of genocide in Punjab. With so much terror and murder, how much can be directly linked to Baba ji. Very little. The reality is the one who terrorised and murdered were the goevrnment machinery. It was they who were resposnible for 1978, 1984, Operation Woodrose, Delhi Riots, and genocide in Punjab. The only people who made Baba ji a terrorist were the government bias press. The facts are clear, who did the killing, rape, and genocide... waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh P.S. Some the info above in inaccuarte. Shaheed Sukhdev Singh babbar and Bibi Amarjit kaur did not oppose Baba Ji. These were divisive rumours sent out by government agents to divide sikhs. These points have been addressed in previous posts. To see them search their names. The real stories have come out form directly interviewing people, not just coping others history books.
