  1. Muslims do what they do, and it works regardless of the ethics behind it. If I was a Christian, I'd do what they do in India, which is "kill them" with kindness. I'd help the poor and disenfranchised with whatever social and personal issues ail them, whilst alluding to the desire that I expect something in return, i.e. conversion, AND hammering home the fact that the Sikh orthodoxy and it's adherents don't care for them. A gareeb wants medicine for his sick child, not a lecture on killing Ego, lol.
  2. Let's not try to fly before we can even dream of crawling. For 99.9% of people aspiring to follow Sikhi to the letter, killing Ego is an abstract and unfathomable concept. How many people do you know that have destroyed all trace of Ego within themselves? It's not impossible if Gurbani prescribes it's true, but humanity isn't perfect. Control is the first step, and for most people, the last. You may call it weak minded; I call it being realistic and not over-reaching.
  3. Killing them would render any human unable to function. You rein them in, as you would a wild horse, so that YOU control them not the other way round.
  4. They've got the infrastructure, support, and administration aspect spot on.
  5. That's an inevitability when most of the Sikh influx into Canada are, or were, farmers and/or owners of agricultural land. You can't "educate" agriculture out of a people over the course of a few months or years, especially when it's in the blood, so to speak, for generations.
  6. We see it all the time on this site. A person is "exposed" by presenting undeniable facts about their conduct, but his or her supporters adamantly present the nindya argument as a defence to shut down discussion.
  7. When does stating an opinion, or even cold facts, cross over into the territory of nindya? Does intention and the manner in which those thoughts are expressed have a bearing on how this issue is viewed?
  8. This thread is one of the more subtle wind-ups in the Gupt section. It's good.
  9. It's almost as if these people don't practice what they preach.
  10. I can't tell if you're joking or not. Making an observation from a place of objectivity is not a criticism. He has gained weight. That's a fact. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the attempt on his life a while ago.

It's funny albeit juvenile stuff, lol. I look forward to what fresh reason these jokers think of in order to post another, "Should I pesh?" topic.
  12. He's gained a noticeable amount of weight, too. I wonder if he's suffering from an obviously undiagnosed form of trauma?
  13. In this day and age, if he was smart, he could turn it around and make it work for him. But he'd have to keep his head down and ride out the initial controversy. He'd have to wave goodbye to the mainstream rank and file, though.
  14. He may be onto something, but innocent until guilty I suppose, if not on the earthly plane, which is increasingly one of injustice and deception, then the one where the Big Guy upstairs resides.
  15. Don't ever attempt to silence or suppress the voice inside you that provides you with such insight.

    Pimple hair

First there was jupping Naam whilst on the job, and now there's conducting an ardaas halfway through it! Do Sikhs actually do this?
  17. Are you being pressured by your parents into getting married to a Punjab based woman?
