  1. There was a girl on sikh channel wjo could tell the shabad off head and the page it was on as well. She had obviously memorized it in the last janam. This is what I am talking about. The divisions we have now have always been there. When I read sikh history evil and division was there even during the Guru jis times. Each Guru ji starting from Guru Arjun Dev ji had an opposer. Sri Chand and his udasis only integrated into the Sikhs after Huru Har Gobind Ji gave him his son Baba Gurditta ji. It should be noted that Guru ji made an effort to bridge the gap. Our divisions just work towards making the gap bigger and bigger. The Sikhi I have been brought up in did not know the words nihang, taksaal and AKJ. However my youngest sister picked all this up from university. So who planted all this? Did it come from India or has it always been a part of UK sikhi? I have known the divisions of singh sabha, nanak sariye and Ramgharie. EEvery religion will have its subtle differences just as every individual has their own beliefs. Each one practices siikhi to a different level according to the kirpa of Waheguru. True religion is tolerant of evil too. The Guru jis had the power of getting rid of all their opposers in a very fast and furious way. However they never used this power. They had great control and they only submitted to the hukam of Waheguru by living as normal human beings, eating, working, performing seva, having families and being utmost humble (Guru Arjun Dev Ji sent mata Ganga Ji to Baba Budha Ji to get ashirvaadh to get a baby) It does not mean that he had no powers to give himself this dhaat. The power Guru ji had I him must have been so great. He wrote most of the shabads in the Guru Granth sahib ji which Guru Gobind Singh Ji installed later as the Guru. Therefore its up to the individual whether they want to focus on the divisions or the truth that lies hidden within religion just as both exist within us to. Bikh amrit base ik sanga.
  2. Judging from the religious interest of particular youngsters, this is highly likely. However it is kalyug and we need more kamayi valle purash around. I would say that being away from india had enabled people to do kamai more easily and in a safer environment. Sikhi can flourish more easily. However it can be pulled down by the ignorant just as easily too.
  3. Just do a simple ardaas. Guru sahibaan ji is all powerful. The right person will come soon. Meanwhile concentrate on simran.
  4. According to my belief, Naam is the word. The word of God as Christians call it. Naam is also the name of God. Word can be translated to shabad to mean sound or name bringing us back to Naam. This word or naam is so powerful that it can be seen as fire in the spiritual world. It has a great amount of energy and power in it. It can expel evil within its vicinity. It even repels the jamdhoot and dharam raaj such that a person with lots of simran will have Guru Ji arriving to take their soul to heaven with great celebrations. We have no idea what saying Waheguru once can achieve. If only we knew that when we say Waheguru - fire comes out of our mouth.... would we stop saying it. powerful fire which can stop any evil dead in its tracks. This comes from a really evil person who had approached a religious person in order to kill him. He entered the taxi with him. when the preacher saw him he uttered Naam... the word - the name of God. This person was expelled from that taxi and found himself lost in some woods. God comes to the help of even animals as the incidences narrated in SGGS. An elephant, crocodile and deer remembered God in the time of need. God came to save them. Therefore Naam is the name of God. Just like a child calls to their mum to save them when they are in danger, just like a mum calls to her child to come and do something for her - this is what Naam is. Everything on the earth has Naam on it. Even demons - they however hate it. Even the trees, walls, stones, the earth itself is absorbed in the word of God. They repeat and remember the word of God. The word is the one which is giving the sun the ability to be the sun, the wind to be the wind, the earth to be the earth, people to be people if they jap it. We all have naam is us but it is upto us whether we want to use it. If only we knew what it does we would not stop saying it. However God has played a trick on us and hidden all this spiritual drama from our eyes. If we could see all this happening then we would never stop naam for one instance. This is the level of our Gurus. They saw everything that was going on. Our thoughts, our feelings, things being stuck to us in the spiritual world, our desires and our future too. This is what enabled Guru Arjun Dev Ji to sit on the tati tavi and say tera kiya meetha laage. He could see what happens for real to people who disobey God. Imagine the unseen to be able to make your seen haseen.
  5. Terrible. However you have to forgive her. This happened to my mamaji. Well they are still married. They have four kids. Only God knows which are his. Is she apologetic or is she still wanting more with the guy? She's probably hurting more than you are. For the sake of your innocent lovely children, try to make it work. Suicide will plunge your soul into darkness. No one will come to get your soul. You will hover in the air around for ages. Do not let this burn you. Imagine you did the deed. Would you want your partner to cast you away. Many people make mistakes. Go on a holiday alone to recover if it helps.
  6. Dear bhenji, Remember not to be ashamed and go on with your partner but limit it. You are not getting your feel good hormones from bani therefore you are driven to an alternative source' - physical relation. It is however a natural way of relieving your stress. Don't feel guilty as you are doing nothing wrong so long as you are with your partner. Start reading path with your kids. Start teaching them bani too. Get some sakhis and read the.. dedicate some time to do the banis in the morning without interference from kids. Put your banis on and let the kids listen. Put shabads on for kids. Tell them meanings. Share Guru Nanak Dev jis sakhis with them. Answer their questions. Do bani aloud when around kids so they can hear too. Soon you will find your family is getting satisfaction from bani and you have to indulge less. However don't let it guilt you or your partner. Suppressed urges are not good either. I am mum and married too. I am twice your age.
  7. Study yourself and deal with the reasons why you went for him? Was it his trap ? Does he have a reputation for that ? I think you should change your job to another bsnk if possible. Forget it ever happened. Many people make this mistake but never learn from it. Are you lonely or were you seeking a promotion or better treatment? Are you just curious about relationships. Access yyourself and deal with your weaker areas In life. Put up your safeguards to dtop it from happening again. Did you drink? Did he offer you drink? Was it a date first or did you just offer to help him? Did he complain about his wife and take your pity? Look into all this and get to the root of the problem. You can always register and talk to someone in confidence if you feel that will help you.
  8. Any partIcular reason why you are thinking this ?
  9. If I were you, i would gift him the book From manmukh to Gurmukh and say it was because you are impressed with his decision to take Amrit. or just refer him to the pdf. Then wait a bit like 2 weeks then casually ask him if he has read the bit about Bhai Rama Ji burning in hell and why he had to suffer for it.
  10. The koran predicts too they will rule this world and it will be an evil rule. I don't know which particular verses though. I heard their ladies talk about it at school.
  11. Or some of them go like I wish sk and so could die and get stuck with bad luck....
  12. I heard someone saying it out of a hindu scripture. I am sure which one though.
  13. All ardaas gets replied. However because of our karams , sometimes we don't get the message.
  14. Mainly because the Sikh knows whatto ask for. Other people with scattered minds ask for their good. A Gursikh asks for sarbat fha bhala. God can simply not refuse such a request.
  15. There is a prophesy that they will multiply and rule the earth. Then they will fight amongst themselves and kill every one of their own kind. Then it will be the turn of the Khalsa to take over.
  16. I thought you would have apologized and removed that last line out of your post. However you Intend to justify yourself and act as If you have done no wrong at all. How dissappointing!!!!!
  17. Why why why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why?????????????? Do you have to spit out your abnormal sexual fantasies on a religious site???????? why??????????? Stop it ........STOP IT!!!!! STOP IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!! OH WAHEGURU........... writing the above did take a lot of energy out of me. I hope your bad thoughts get ironed out by the burst of positive energy I have just sent you.
  18. Some years ago, our faith had this too. My mum and dad had amrit before they were married. However most people are not anble to keep rehet as Married life Is busy and requires lots of adjustments. Now the Giani jis would not bother suggesting It at all. Whats the point of taking amrit whenyou are doing It not purely for your true love for Guru ji but just vecause You are getting married Its n
  19. Excellent sakhi. If you don't know who wrote the Guru Granth Sahib and what its message is - then please don't bother identifying yourself as a sikh!!!! Why? Because you don't even know your Guru. So whose Sikh are you?
  20. Do not forget that all the shaheedees In Sikh history have been caused by their bizarre need to become the sole religion
  21. I really hope you are trying to make an effort to practice naam simran at home too. The best time is the morning and then at night. An audio in the car might help too. Whilst it is a good thing to occassionally perform naam simran at work... you have to realise that it takes your attention away from other important things you may need to focus at the moment. I recently got carried away reciting a shabad in the middle of playing monopoly. I made the calculation that my turn would come when the shabad ended. I picked the dice and rolled it - then I realised it was not my turn - everyone just turned their eyes on me and well I did feel a bit foolish. The point being that when you are not making enough time for naam then it starts to spill out into the day. Therefore satisfy the cravings of your soul in the morning and at night. Set aside 20 minutes or so and sit without interruptions. If you can do it in the day - its a bonus. listening by the ear - greatly helps. I noticed better progress in my part when I was listening to the audio rather than reading the path silently in the morning. However it is good to keep a balance between both so that you can get the recitation and pronunciation correct.
  22. The more gupt you do your naam jap the greater the reward. However you have to remember that only God cares about you. Naam is the only thing that should be of any importance to a sikh. So whether quietly or loudly I believe you are allowed to practice your naam simran as and how and where ever you may wish to. You may want to try memorizing a shabad as well, as this comes across as you are reading something so you don't appear to be talking to yourself. The Gurus never thought about what other people will think. They carried on with their seva hence earning their Guruships. Use your break time, walking to and fro work and also weekends for maximum quiet time and focused mind on God. The bliss is greater when you are less worried about the world. I occasionally tend to read the meanings of gurbani from my phone, whole in waiting rooms and other places. I can see people curiously observing my face wondering what I might be studying, however I get back to reading coz I have limited time to study with full focus.
  23. Them being the majority In government helps greatly. They will not expose themselves and can be hidden by their own people.
  24. People are getting so stuck to their religious labels without being religious at all !!!!! Kalyug!!!!
  25. Keep doing your simran. Sometimes dreams push us into action. You will encounter lots of resistance when you start simran or increase it, however you have to persist in order to get to a better level. Also include your dream in ardaas to Waheguru and ask Guru ji to protect you from any difficulties that might be in your path. Ask Guruji for help in helping you focus better in your simran. I usually repeat the shabad aukhi ghari na dhekhan dhei if I feel unsettled. Remember it is a good sign to get these scary dreams. It simply means you are getting somewhere and some force is trying to hold you back. Fight even harder. Soorma so pehchaniye jo larhe dheen ke het.
