Kphull I appreciate that - in no way would I condone anyone's family being punished for their fathers misdeeds, and to date i have heard of no instances where his family been in any danger. there is evidence of Nidar overplaying the threats - to make those who oppose him look like terrorists and fanatics, yet the main reason why we started this parchaar was due to the fanaticism displayed by his students in our various kids camps, their inability to accept other peoples views and their arrogant claims to authenticity and supremacy, their beshurm mocking of other martial arts groups and blatant misuse of alcohol and marijuana. once Nidar came to an akj program and this was during the time he had openly put photos of their elders on his website blocked out their eyes and called them pakhandis (these are the actions of a wise respectable master?), one of the young organisers approached him and said "look you know there's tension kindly please move on, we don't want any trouble" he smiled and hung around, then he went straight around the corner and made a complaint to the police that he had been manhandled. in my case, what have I done other then write articles and disseminate key points about his parchaar - yet he called the Counter Terrorism unit on me. Now we are lucky that in the UK the police check before they take someone in. I showed them all my research and even told them to check the letter and the signatures as they are well known people it only takes a phone call to verify. They checked everything and let me go. now, had we been in India I would not have faired so well..... he threatened the committee of Somerset Rd Gurdwara hence the backlash where many people turned up. He also threatened the Guru Tegh bahadur gurdwara saying "I have students in America, Europe and Canada, and they want to tear the place up" to which the police officer present at the meeting had to warn him to calm down. one of Nidar's students called one of our sevadaars place of work and made a complaint about him being a violent gang member, and he is a teacher at a school, this could have seriously damaged his career and family. In my opinion, a self-proclaimed master is one who establishes their own independent criteria to declare their respective status within the martial arts community, usually at some sort of highly ranked level or teaching position. In some cases, they may have created a completely fictional background about themselves or even a fictitious martial art style. Often they claim some difficult if not impossible to authenticate training background. More often, they simply obtain at least some credentials from others through various means. Often they will enter into mutual recognition arrangements with other like-minded persons. This usually works something like, "I will recognize and rank you at a high level in my style if you reciprocate and rank me in your style." It provides them with a sense of external recognition and results in lots of new high dan rankings for both participants. Others quite frankly purchase martial arts rank certificates from unscrupulous individuals or organizations. Why do people self proclaim themselves as masters? I am not an expert on mental health, but I think it has a lot to do with fear and insecurity. I've noticed that many of the self-proclaimed masters I've met haven't enjoyed much success in the other aspects of their lives. They often are employed at fairly simple occupations and frequently have a limited educational background. Their feelings of powerlessness and inadequacy are often the reason they were drawn to the martial arts in the beginning. For example, you hear them talking a lot about the dangers of today's streets in nearly paranoid terms, as if we are likely to be assaulted at any moment or face attackers lurking around every corner. The martial arts master presents a very powerful image, one who is capable of defeating all enemies and has incredible wisdom. This master is not intimidated by such opponents or modern technology. Since it is unlikely they could actually earn rank within the more traditional styles, they are left to create their own martial arts teaching credentials. To appear even more powerful, they often adopt titles associated with martial arts masters, such as soke and shihan, often to the point of absurdity. For the same reason, you find self-proclaimed martial arts masters have purchased diploma mill degrees or simply awarded themselves with educational credentials. Like martial arts ranks, the academic doctorate title represents a powerful icon to someone who feels inadequate. There is one very well-known martial arts organization run by a self-proclaimed martial arts master who takes full advantage of these fears. For a fee, he will "register" individual applicants as sokes or founders of their own martial arts style, thus providing a sense of legitimacy and group recognition they often are seeking. In addition, he also offers various academic sounding degrees in "oriental philosophy" to members willing to pay for such nonsensical credentials. By doing so, he has not only addressed his own inner fears, but has obviously found a way to exploit the insecurities of others such as himself

Baba Giani Singh (who learnt from Baba Giana Singh "Rabb JI") who is alive said Nidar Singh has got hankar, as he met him once briefly at Hazur Sahib, and this inner-hankar has caused him to break away from the Khalsa Panth into Brahamanism. the FACT is he has blatantly lied and concocted an elaborate fantasy to market himself in the western world. knowing full well the Nihangs in India would neither know of what he is upto or how he was going about stealing the crown of Shastar Vidiya to establish himself in the western world. You may think a few martial artists endorsing him is enough, but he spent a large part of his early career, insulting, ridiculing and upsetting the most part of the Sikh Sangat. His stories have clearly changed over the years, I met him him 12 years back at the Baba Deep Singh Gatka Akhara with a Baljit Singh I knew then, and NIdar clearly said out loud that my teacher was an unknown monk from the jungles who no one knew. A few ex-students have said he always had loads of books and martial arts dvd's at his house- he has clearly incorporated arts like escrima, silat, jkd, etc into his art. Early students who studied with him in the early times have also said they taught him some of their stuff as his stuff was lacking somewhat. There is nothing wrong with this but then why claim its AUTHENTIC, ORIGINAL Shastarvidiya. Just tell the truth and why cuss down other gatka ustads who have multiple martial arts skills. He still on his website insults those Sikh Shaheeds who gave their lives for Sikhi, why would a Sikh Warrior condemn those who gave their lives for what they stood for? There was no talk of Snatan Shastarvidiya, at that time it was Gatka and Hatka, then it became Chatka Gatka, then it became Shastarvidiya, then it became Hindu Sikh Shastarvidiya, now because it’s causing backlash he has removed the Hindu-Sikh. A few Questions 1. If it is just about Martial Arts then why is he using Shastarvidiya to preach Snatan Ideology when none of the previous ustads or nihangs did? Why not just leave it out and teach martial arts? 2. Why concoct the elaborate story, Lie and claim to be the LAST Gurdev, why not just say I learnt from budha dal ranjit akhara and i want to continue the tradition? 3. Why curse down all the other gatka akharas, why not work with them to improve the general level of Martial tradition within the Sikh panth in a non-egotistical and forward thinking manner? 4. Why is he still saying that this is the original snatan art from ancient times, when he has clearly mixed the basic shastarvidiya with other arts? (proof of this in one of his videos with Pat'o Malley Pat says these arts are virtually the same, and Nidar says nothing about his special authenticity and also ex-students who shared their knowledge) 5. Why do none of the NIhangs in India Like him or endorse him, and why did they write a letter to akaal takht sahib asking for him to be spoken to? The signatures have been verified and the letter is legit. So many of Nidars students keep saying its fake – how many of you have actually spoken to the Nihang Jathedars. Hajur sahib one of the ancestral homes of the Nihangs have warned he will be shot if he ever steps foot there. I think this says it all - The mentality of the teacher is represented by the behaviour of his students ...... this kind of egotistical my dads better then your dad stuff is what really puts martial arts to shame ! I wouldn't dismiss the Gatka people so candidly - some of them will give as good as they get and when it comes to it will fight with great spirit...... in a street fight your choice of martial art counts for nothing...... Kphull this would have been the ideal option, and i love it when Nidars Students go "he just teaches martial arts leave him alone, your all just jealous of his invincibility !" so why did he not let others be ? why did he threaten Butta Singh, challenge everyone like a drunk outside the pub on a Friday? Following are names of students of Baba Giana Singh – Baba Gurdial Singh, Baba Giana Singh, Baba Gurbax Singh, Baba Daya Singh , Baba Gian S, Baba Pritam Singh, Baba Mohinder Singh. Baba Pritam Singh’s Ranjit Akhara can be found on facebook here. But he doesn’t have the ego and to go around pumping himself as the ultimate last warrior. He is a humble Nihang Singh who encourages young people to learn shastarvidiya and do demonstrations to keep the art alive. Baba Pritam Singh also holds no animosity or superiority complex over Gatka and allows his students to freely practice according to the sangat present without making fun of people who do Gatka, but encouraging them. So how can Nidar claim to be ninth Grand Master in line, and the only living practitioner of the art, when there was no clear line of succession and there are still existing students of Baba Giana Singh (8th generation) and their subsequent students who are ninth generation. Who made Nidar the gurdev? and who gave him sole copyright over Shastarvidiya. How can he claim to be the last Master of this forgotten art when there are so many others. Nidar absolutely hates it if anyone else tries to teach shastarvidiya of any kind yet he cannot claim to be from Baba Giana Singhs lineage but at the same time not recognise his rightful descendants. Surely anyone can now go to India learn from the Ranjit Akhara at Budha Dal and and be taught from direct descendants of Baba Giana Singh and setup legitimate Shastar Vidiya Akharas across the UK. I have heard that a few already have. The truth is that Nidar’s version of events is mere fantasy, self aggrandizement and self-promotion. His earlier origin stories were akin to a 70′s Jackie Chan Kung Fu Movie. Its all a very clever marketing campaign. NIdar is living off the name of nam japan valey, hath, tap, seva karan valey, bani paran valey, panth de mahan Brahmgianis and Gatka Ustads of the past, who have lived to serve the Panth. While this fraud serves his own belly and ego. And what Nidar has done by hijacking shastarvidiya and claiming to be the sole owner is similar to the way Balbir has taken control of the Budha Dal and claimed jathedari for himself even though no jathedari was ever passed to him.

the soul feels sad as the world it once held onto was just a dream, what is the point of it all? but look forward to what is ahead of this life, japp naam and remember this is holding the hand of the Guru, and hereafter we will be reunited with our beloved... the housholder is haunted by worry, the renunciate is haunted by ego gurmukh is the householder and renunciate in one - sant sipahi - the saint and the soldier in one The gurmukh lives in family but understands it is just a dream, but this life is also the only way to do bhagti and reach vaheguru, so living in maya he remains clean like the lotus flower on the swamp, he performs his worldy duty and helps those around him yet he is detached from life and understands that one day we must all accept defeat why not bow down to the guru and accept it now...... such balance is beyond us at young age... hope that as we get older wisdom will teach us more about this balance..... sangat is very important - sangat of gursikhs, siyane, sants, mahapursh and doing seva is very important to learn more about balance.

I dont know much about the situation, just saw it and posted it, i did on one occasion contact the old comittee members and they were very rude and didnt respond at all in a nice way. I got through to one of the anand brothers who said can you ring me later and when i tried to ring him back he had blocked my number. But what doesnt make sense is if the new comittee are anti dasam then why would they replace the gyani for one whos done a phd on dasam granth saying its guru's bani?

There is actually quite a big problem with fake babas in the UK, no offense to genuine bhagats and mahapurshs Only a lot of them now don’t dress up as or go around like fake babas, we had one here in Smethwick, a builder who was quite a charismatic speaker, managed to extort over £50,000 from innocent people who thought he was spiritually gifted. I knew this guy and he seemed ok at first just a normal Mr Singh in his 50's who was into Sikhi, seemed to want to help people, and talked about good things like seva, simran, and spirituality. He was attracted to rich families and people in good professions. In the end it turned out he was trying it on with young girls behind everyone’s backs, telling them that union with a spiritually blessed one can help someone’s own spirituality, and arranging meetings at hotels. What was distinct about this particular individual was that he made a point of ridiculing fake babas and anyone who accepts money for spirituality, which is why he was harder to detect - he seemed to be one of the people who was against holy men and that a lot of them were taking advantage of their gullible followers. He was heard on a few occasions calling himself a sant but in plain clothes and bigging up his own spirituality over others. Taking credit for good things that would happen in people’s lives when they had nothing to do with him and he also had quite a nasty narcissistic complex which meant anyone who disagreed with him or opposed him he would do anything to discredit that person. This person was called to a meeting in Birmingham and he admitted most of his mistakes the community made sure that this person was well known and agreed to stay away from people’s families and stop his antics. One of the girls suffered quite a bit of mental suffering due to this person’s evil manipulation the key thing to note is that in almost every incident of fake babas - there is a lot of initial ground building with good ideas concepts and katha - they will speak about the things that will appeal to you - even saying "Besides Guru Granth Sahib ji don’t accept no one" all the while gaining your trust and snaring you in. they know what the sangat wants to hear, so like good salesmen they sell their fake spirituality. People like what they see and want to believe what they are hearing so they buy into the fantasy that they might have finally met someone that can show me the way. Even when there are gaps in the babas knowledge or things he says are dubious, the followers blinded by their misguided hope, overlook their mistakes. So desperate people have become to end their misery and pain they are willing to try anything or anyone, and while their relief is short lived they almost always walk away bitter, disappointed and worse off. There are many conmen who do this not just on spirituality but on other aspects of Sikhi aswell, martial arts is a prime example, where young people are sold a fantasy of an alternate reality and they end up thinking everything their teacher says is gospel. How many times have you heard someone saying “I don’t want to get married” as if they are too spiritually inclined for it, and then end up having to get married due to not being able to control it or end up involved in some sordid sexual controversy. It is unfortunate and many good decent people have had their hopes and sharda broken due to these evil fakes. It’s too easy to call yourself sant and wear white and people are scared to question that person. Never trust anyone with your family, no matter how holy they seem, especially children Never give anyone money unless you know where it is going (use good charities like Khalsa aid, sopw, Sikh Helpline, 1984 families) Don’t think that just by following a baba your pains will go away, guidance from elders is ok, but ultimately you have to make the journey within yourself. The dehli comittee was run by Sarna and the Sikh missionaries who are very close to Prof Darshan Singh - this cult do not beleive any of the Banis in Dasam Granth were written by Guru Gobind Singh ji, so there have been many occasions where they have accosted sikh kirtani and other gursikhs to stop them reading gurbani that we have been reading for 300 years, and that are a part of the Sikh nitnem and Amrit Sanchar Ceremony. On this occasion Bhai Balbir Singh ji showed the power of ardaas - he felt very hurt that this was hapening in one of the main sikh temples in India, a pain that is being felt worldwide as these people are brainwashing people with their doubt filled egos, but they could not defeat Bhai Balbir Singh - he returned and finished his SHABAD!

It is the celestial words sung from their own mouth, Guru Gobind SIngh Ji the true King. Those who are speaking out and opposing this scripture should not do so as it belongs to our master and to the panth. I remember I was doing Kirtan here a while ago,(he Sings)"TIN BEDIYAN KI KUL VIKHEY PRAGTEY NANAK RAI". While I was singing Professor Darshan Singh was sitting nearby with the prabandhaks(comittee) and they grabbed my arm and stopped me singing hymns. "Stop this" they said "What do you think you are doing" I replied " I am singing the hymns of Guru Gobind Singh Ji which I have sung for many years at Sri Harimandir Sahib, Why are you stopping this kirtan" they stopped me but I felt very hurt, the sangat also felt very hurt when they acted in this manner. I did ardaas(Prayer) to the almighty truth, please bring that time, when I will be able to again sing those hymns from which I had been so rudely stopped.
