  1. I am confused about your statement, are you declining to acknowledge your sister as being progressive? And yes, nothing progressive about those peoples in the videos. Unfortunately, I have no sisters but I have drunk jatt uncles and PENDOO aunties who try to be modern. A lot of PENDOO punjabis around me who are the epitome of modern but not PROGRESSIVE. oh heathlands and in Hounslow lolol. things make even more sense. However when I was scouring her Twitter feed a month or so back, I am sure she mentioned Guru Nanak School.
  2. So you went to Guru Nanak school with her? I think you mean your sisters are also PROGRESSIVE. A lot of PENDOOFIED people try to look and be MODERN without being PROGRESSIVE. Such as pendoo women who come from the pend and then get stupid haircuts, and maybe start doing glassy as well. And a lot of other nonsense. A lot of PENDOOS know how to be MODERN without being PROGRESSIVE.

this people follow sant babas or bhai sahibs that hardly practise shastar rehit of khalsa.
  4. dastar is only for covering kes? Why don't you ask those who wear dumallas loaded with shastar, or read the history of the maharajas who wore their pagris? Have you ever heard the saying? :Piyo deh pagh pehra wich roldei Dastaar is totally a thing of izzat and self respect in our culture. YEs there are bad people who wear turbans. But seriously I am much more intimidating since I had a beard. The Khalsa Singhs wore the bana and carried shastar, but the look was not complete without the high turbans and intimidating beards. With a scary look, half the fight is won!
  5. If they think they can access sikhi like that, then they will get a warped version. However the christians bible translations in English are just warped and propaganda like King James or Good News.
  6. Well I actually meant to wear the dastaar and use being a Singh to stop bullies flicking or putting the allergic food on the child. Of course dastaar can block flicked food as well. Yes, but with turban also comes annakh. Annakhi person fights back against bullies. Wearing turban has meaning, it is not like a hat.
  7. this is why we shouldn't cut our hair. we should keep our turbans and have annakh, then we don't get bullied. Then the bullies don't dare flick things like cheese at us!

'Drink the immortal nectar and upon joining the Khalsa fold go hunting. Continually seek to perfect your use of weapons. Perform 'Jhatka' and eat goats. Do not even go near Halal meat.' -'Sri Gur Panth Prakash', Ratan Singh Bhangu, pg. 110. lol not actively!!!

of course. But I reckon the east african sikhs brought this trend in more strongly. The fathers and grandfathers had colonial british raj army soldier obeying fixofied beards and the sons in an imitation of this had trim or tramline beards. It has spread to everyone else now as well. And something super strange is happening. now sikh boys in uk and india are copying the hipster look. So now they are GROWING their beards but still keeping a haircut with no turban. WHAT KIND OF RIDICULOUSNESS IS THIS????

They too have the same taste. Kūṛī rās kūṛā vāpār. False is their capital, and false is their trade. Kūṛ bol karahi āhār. Speaking falsehood, they take their food. Saram ḏẖaram kā derā ḏūr. The home of modesty and Dharma is far from them. Nānak kūṛ rahi▫ā bẖarpūr. O Nanak, they are totally permeated with falsehood. Mathai tikā ṯeṛ ḏẖoṯī kakẖā▫ī. The false come and sit within them. Maṯ bẖitai ve maṯ bẖitai. Need to find the right kind of sangat like Nihang Singhs and other understanding groups. Does sikh council help in these things? I remember when they were asking tweeting everyone to support the sikh manifesto. When I mentioned halal, they seemed to have put it in a footnote somewhere. FOR SHAME!!! I am sandwiched between Slough and Southall areas, I see more sikhs preaching haircuts and shaving than those preaching to keep hair!
  13. DELETED-- This thread seems to be a repost, so go to this one: http://sikhsangat.com/index.php?/topic/81403-halal-food
  14. IF they are just going INSIDE mandir then nothing wrong. but obviously they are probably worshipping idols which isn't the way for nirguna pooja. We respect sarguna, but don't do pooja of this sort. The only chandi pooja we do is practising pf sword in sri bhagauti. to worship in standing idol form is useless for us.
  15. I have no problem in judging amrit dharis who don't bother with doing shastar abiyaas on purpose.
  16. In this case, I was talking about how there were still Princely states when India has been independent for a while. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_princely_states_of_British_India_(by_region)
  17. in the case of indian parliament, absolutely. But remember, there we had monarchies as opposed to a monarchy. Or how about a mixed system, democracy and monarchy as well? The way it was before India did the act for disabling the monarchies.
  18. Judging is important. IT is the lack of judging which has got our panth in a lot of trouble.
  19. Going off topic a bit. But if this applied to indian states then the answer would be because democracy has failed over there.
  20. naam japo, kirat karo, wand ke chakko. As long as you're not obsessed with working, and not obsessed with money (these obsessions are actually a problem in many sikh families), then I have no objections.
  21. I wish Khalsa fauj could go there and join with the Yazidis and destroy the ISIS terrorists there.
  22. I wonder about this school. Do they teach gurmat sangeet at this school or just silly harmonium? That's what they taught at Guru Nanak School Hayes, unsure if this still is true. I would love to start a fund for this also.
