  1. Enlighten me then ... Yeah i know Sikh heritage has been destroyed by Sikhs, mostly in the name of "kar seva" But whatever remains is going to disappear soon
  2. Sikhs that have Anand Karaj with their Hindu partner and then run of to the Mandir to have a Hindu wedding, how would they react to Guru ji himself rejecting a Hindu marriage for himself? many Sikh men wear dhotis and have saath phere with their Hindu wife after taking part in Anand Karaj where they wear pagh and hold kirpan lol absolutely pathetic, i got a feeling most of those Sikh men are feminists lol Roughly what percentage of British Sikh men are feminists? i think the figures are rising, soaring. Especially among professionals married to "modern" women, usually living in green belt areas.
  3. I started watching porn when i was 11! and i became addicted from the very first time i watched it. She is absolutely right, i does take your innocence away. I still remember the first time i watched it! i didn't even know what most of the stuff was! You become desensitized to it and then start searching for worse and worse stuff! i can see how it can cause problems in marriages. Its too easy to access that's the problem... sex is everywhere, posters, films, adverts, clothes

Why don't we eat egg? When I'm in a situation where I need to tell someone I can't eat a cake or biscuits etc because they have egg in them and that I don't eat meat they usually turn around and say egg isn't meat! So why don't we eat egg? From my experience apart from Hindus no one else understands and get confused about me not being allowed to eat egg
  5. Same thing is going on in Punjab, Mughal heritage has been restored while Sikh and Hindu heritage is in ruins Here are images of a sarai in Jalandhar constructed under the orders of Nur Jehan the wife of Jehangir. The Sarai has been restored by the government of India and is a protected monument. another Mughal Sarai which has been restored and repaired by the government While on the other hand this is the sad state of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's palace in Amritsar and here is the state of Todar Mals haveli, Todar mal the person who sold his haveli so he could lay out gold coins on the ground as the Mughal governor said that only the area that covers the ground with gold coins will be given to the Sikhs to cremate the bodies of mata Gujri and sahibzade Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh. In order to cover enough surface area on the ground with gold coins Todar Mal sold his haveli. Today this is the state of his Haveli Even in Punjab the heritage of the Mughals has been restored and preserved while our own heritage is in ruins
  6. Babur Bani The fight against social and political injustice has historically been an integral part of Sikhism. As a religious leader Guru Nanak did not turn a blind eye to political supression or consider it outside the realm of religion, but undertook political protest through his writings, speaking out against the cruelty of rulers. Guru Nanak wrote a number of passages about the Mughal invasion of India by Babur and the brutalities that he eyewitnessed first hand (Babur Bani). Guru Nanak also spoke out about the suffering of people at the hands of unscrupulous rulers and government officials (Rag Asa, pg. 360) Having attacked Khuraasaan, Babar terrified Hindustan. The Creator Himself does not take the blame, but has sent the Mugal as the messenger of death. There was so much slaughter that the people screamed. Didn't You feel compassion, Lord? || 1 || O Creator Lord, You are the Master of all. If some powerful man strikes out against another man, then no one feels any grief in their mind. || 1 || Pause || But if a powerful tiger attacks a flock of sheep and kills them, then its master must answer for it. This priceless country has been laid waste and defiled by dogs, and no one pays any attention to the dead. You Yourself unite, and You Yourself separate; I gaze upon Your Glorious Greatness. || 2 || One may give himself a great name, and revel in the pleasures of the mind, but in the Eyes of the Lord and Master, he is just a worm, for all the corn that he eats. Only one who dies to his ego while yet alive, obtains the blessings, O Nanak, by chanting the Lord's Name. (Rag Asa, pg. 417-418) Those heads adorned with braided hair, with their parts painted with vermillion - those heads were shaved with scissors, and their throats were choked with dust. They lived in palatial mansions, but now, they cannot even sit near the palaces. || 1 || Hail to You, O Father Lord, Hail to You! O Primal Lord. Your limits are not known; You create, and create, and behold the scenes. || 1 || Pause || When they were married, their husbands looked so handsome beside them. They came in palanquins, decorated with ivory; water was sprinkled over their heads, and glittering fans were waved above them. || 2 || They were given hundreds of thousands of coins when they sat, and hundreds of thousands of coins when they stood. They ate coconuts and dates, and rested comfortably upon their beds. But ropes were put around their necks, and their strings of pearls were broken. || 3 || Their wealth and youthful beauty, which gave them so much pleasure, have now become their enemies. The order was given to the soldiers, who dishonored them, and carried them away. If it is pleasing to God's Will, He bestows greatness; if is pleases His Will, He bestows punishment. || 4 || If someone focuses on the Lord beforehand, then why should he be punished? The kings had lost their higher consciousness, reveling in pleasure and sensuality. Since Babar's rule has been proclaimed, even the princes have no food to eat. || 5 || The Muslims have lost their five times of daily prayer, and the Hindus have lost their worship as well. Without their sacred squares, how shall the Hindu women bathe and apply the frontal marks to their foreheads? They never remembered their Lord as Raam, and now they cannot even chant Khudaa-i || 6 || Some have returned to their homes, and meeting their relatives, they ask about their safety. For some, it is pre-ordained that they shall sit and cry out in pain. Whatever pleases Him, comes to pass. O Nanak, what is the fate of mankind? || 7 || 11 || AASAA, FIRST MEHL: Where are the games, the stables, the horses? Where are the drums and the bugles? Where are the sword-belts and chariots? Where are those scarlet uniforms? Where are the rings and the beautiful faces? They are no longer to be seen here. || 1 || This world is Yours; You are the Lord of the Universe. In an instant, You establish and disestablish. You distribute wealth as it pleases You. || 1 || Pause || Where are the houses, the gates, the hotels and palaces? Where are those beautiful way-stations? Where are those beautiful women, reclining on their beds, whose beauty would not allow one to sleep?Where are those betel leaves, their sellers, and the haremees? They have vanished like shadows. || 2 || For the sake of this wealth, so many were ruined; because of this wealth, so many have been disgraced. It was not gathered without sin, and it does not go along with the dead. Those, whom the Creator Lord would destroy - first He strips them of virtue. || 3 || Millions of religious leaders failed to halt the invader, when they heard of the Emperor's invasion. He burned the rest-houses and the ancient temples; he cut the princes limb from limb, and cast them into the dust. None of the Mugals went blind, and no one performed any miracle. || 4 || The battle raged between the Mugals and the Pat'haans, and the swords clashed on the battlefield. They took aim and fired their guns, and they attacked with their elephants. Those men whose letters were torn in the Lord's Court, were destined to die, O Siblings of Destiny. || 5 || The Hindu women, the Muslim women, the Bhattis and the Rajputs - some had their robes torn away, from head to foot, while others came to dwell in the cremation ground. Their husbands did not return home - how did they pass their night? || 6 || The Creator Himself acts, and causes others to act. Unto whom should we complain? Pleasure and pain come by Your Will; unto whom should we go and cry? The Commander issues His Command, and is pleased. O Nanak, we receive what is written in our destiny. (Rag Tilang, pg. 722-723) As the Word of the Forgiving Lord comes to me, so do I express it, O Lalo. Bringing the marriage party of sin, Babar has invaded from Kaabul, demanding our land as his wedding gift, O Lalo. Modesty and righteousness both have vanished, and falsehood struts around like a leader, O Lalo. The Qazis and the Brahmins have lost their roles, and Satan now conducts the marriage rites, O Lalo. The Muslim women read the Koran, and in their misery, they call upon God, O Lalo. The Hindu women of high social status, and others of lowly status as well, are put into the same category, O Lalo. The wedding songs of murder are sung, O Nanak, and blood is sprinkled instead of saffron, O Lalo. || 1 || Nanak sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord and Master in the city of corpses, and voices this account. The One who created, and attached the mortals to pleasures, sits alone, and watches this. The Lord and Master is True, and True is His justice. He issues His Commands according to His judgement. The body-fabric will be torn apart into shreds, and then India will remember these words. Coming in seventy-eight (1521 A.D.), they will depart in ninety-seven (1540 A.D.), and then another disciple of man will rise up. Nanak speaks the Word of Truth; he proclaims the Truth at this, the right time. (Rag Malar, pg.1288) Deer, falcons and government officials are known to be trained and clever. When the trap is set, they trap their own kind; hereafter they will find no place of rest. He alone is learned and wise, and he alone is a scholar, who practices the Name. First, the tree puts down its roots, and then it spreads out its shade above. The kings are tigers, and their officials are dogs; they go out and awaken the sleeping people to harass them. The public servants inflict wounds with their nails. The dogs lick up the blood that is spilled. But there, in the Court of the Lord, all beings will be judged. Those who have violated the people's trust will be disgraced; their noses will be cut off. https://www.sikhs.org/transl12.htm
  7. Yeah i think the government of Uttar Pradesh, that yogi guy, has removed the Taj Mahal from UPs tourism booklet. But most Indians still see the Taj as a symbol of love, many are proud of its fame.
  8. Yes, thats why the few times i have been mandir i felt really weird while bowing down to statues lol
  9. Lol iv only been mandir like 6 or 7 times in my life. Here in the UK i can only remember going mandir once! In India my family believe in babeh, shrines, tombs, etc so they end up dragging me to these places. I have been baba Balak Nath in India and i was told to touch a goats feet and receive blessings! 2 years on and im still confused! i think to myself did i really touch a goats feet for blessings LMAOO Yeah i don't believe in any of that its only when i visit Punjab my family there take me to these weird places, some of these places have some of the the weirdest looking idols/statues i have ever seen! you really are left scratching your head thinking who the hell came up with that!
  10. That's very interesting, especially the controllable society bit. I agree. Though I disagree with people sticking to their own castes. I think young sikhs need to do the opposite, marry out of your caste, it will creator stronger relationships between sikhs of different castes and we need that... In fact I hope i do marry someone outside of my caste
  11. Ask Waheguru for guidance! be honest and pray from the bottom of your heart and ask Waheguru to bring you closer to him, Ask Waheguru to always keep you close. continue looking at Sikh videos online. I agree that Bhai Sukha UK has some of the best videos, he is really good at doing what he does. I am currently read the biography of sant Harnam Singh ji, he had visions of Guru Gobind Singh ji. Its a very inspiring book, here's the link for it if you are interested http://www.gurukhoj.com/eBooks/Se_Kinehiya_-_English.pdf
  12. The Taj Mahal is the face of India, Its one of the most recognizable buildings in the world. Its impossible to have a India tourism brochure without the Taj slapped on the cover or somewhere inside. The Taj has been romanticized as the symbol of love, but what about the slaves that built it? what about the genocide of non Muslims carried out under the orders of Shah Jehan? The Taj like any other Mughal structure was built using Indian wealth plundered by the invaders, Indians were denied their wealth, land, culture, religion, yet India celebrates this building! Its not just the Taj but many buildings built by these invaders have a dark story which has been overshadowed by the "beauty" and "grandeur" This whole idea of Shah Jehan building the Taj as a symbol of love for his wife is false lol! the Mughals, like any other emperor of the past built huge colossal resting places to make themselves eternal! they forever wanted to be remembered so built huge mausoleums for themselves. Throughout time emperors themselves wrote much of history in order to be remembered as powerful Kings. Many of the Mughal tombs have gardens with fruit and exotic plants, fountains and artificial lakes, the idea was to create jannat here on earth, and its the same for the Taj. The whole love saga was created much later. I have been to the Qutab Minar, Delhi which was constructed by one of the early Muslim invaders, Delhi sultanates. Huge Hindu, Jain and Buddhist temple complexes were destroyed and the same material was used to build this Minar. The Qutab Minar complex is huge and the remains of these ancient temples are still there! the ruins of these temples are dotted around everywhere surrounding the Minar. Walking around it makes you wonder how magnificent these temples must of been at one point. There are many other early Islamic tombs and structures in the Qutub Minar complex and they too are made of destroyed temples. Today the Qutab Minar is a UNESCO world heritage site and is protected by the government of India! it is a protected monument under the archaeological survey of India! how does that make any sense? Imagine the moment the Islamic invaders marched into the temple complex, the genocide they carried out, the screams and bloodshed, the slaughter and destruction. And then those same temples were crushed and used to build the Minar. Its not just the buildings but even in Bollywood the Mughals are romanticized. Jodha Akbar was a huge movie a few years back and it was all false. It was a fictionalized version of Akbars marriage to Rajput Princess Jodha. In reality Jodha had to change her name to Mariam and was buried according to Islamic beliefs and has a Islamic tomb. Akbar is called a secular king with the first secular government, but why do they ignore the Rajput genocide that he carried out in order to spread his empire? The Mughals slaughtered the local princes and then claimed Indian wealth and land as their own property! with this same wealth they built their empire and built these monuments using Indian slaves. Why are these people celebrated? The Islamic invasion of India was one of the bloodiest genocides the world has witnessed, for 900 years millions of Indians were slaughtered and today their buildings are protected and their culture is celebrated. why? Here are the ruins of temples in the Qutub Minar complex. Around 900/800 years foreign invaders marched into this very place and carried out a brutal massacre. They demolished the indigenous religion and culture and replaced it with their own. This place should be a memorial not a tourist attraction. The crumbling temples and the towering Muslim structure in the center, This place perfectly captures the Islamic invasion of India. This place symbolizes one of the worst genocides the world has witnessed.
  13. Guru ji has blessed you, i wish i was into Sikhi when i was 15! not many people have interest in faith/religion at that age brother. At 15 i knew absolutely nothing about Sikhi. Your still very young. I had a bit of a bumpy ride and then got into Sikhi when i couldn't see any direction, your still young you wouldn't understand lol. I started doing wrong stuff and If it wasn't for Sikhi i would of been in a very dark place today, i dread to think of it. But i believe that Waheguru ji saved me and guided me towards Sikhi. But your very lucky that you have that much interest in Sikhi at 15, i wish i was like that at your age. But take it easy! have fun too, don't go too hard on yourself. Be involved in Sikhi and have fun too, don't get too serious, its important that one enjoys being a sikh and has fun! I don't know to much but some of the members on here would explain things better ...
  14. Hello What makes you doubt the existence of god?

    Sikh videos

Nice Sikh videos, some are interesting and some beautiful! post more guys ...
  17. I do the complete opposite of "lovingly" ahahhaha! lol joke I don't think there is any wrong in doing it once in a while! i think one should work around their feelings/urges rather than go against them! But if you can stop and control/conquer those urges then thats good. If you end up trying to suppress your feelings then you end up with this little battle going on inside you and you won't be able to concentrate on anything else, so its healthy to release all that, and then you can concentrate again. But if you can control it and completely stop without it then thats even better. Better to work around it than against it. many sects of Christians are prohibited from using contraception and are only allowed to have sex for procreation, that is completely going against the way us humans are and think, its such a powerful force and to suppress it is mad! now we know why there are so many cases of catholic priests raping nuns!
  18. I think you missed the whole point. He is saying we constantly change the style of our hair and beard based on what is in trend, so we don't think for ourselves but let media, society etc think for ourselves. When the British arrived in India most of the urban Indian men shaved of their hair and beards and fashioned it into the Victorian styled sideburns, why? because the British were in power so urban Indian youth felt they had to ditch their traditions and imitate the British. He is opposed to people not thinking for themselves and blindly following trends and whatever is currently popular. Every couple of years hair styles change based on what is on trend, people are not thinking for themselves but letting media and society think for them, hence why we follow what is popular, Its the same case for hair. Men keeping their hair short is a very recent thing and became popular when western culture became dominant, especially during the empire.
