  1. yh bani tells us to remember and meditate on Guru Arjan Dev ji and that he will carry us across. Ardaas tells us to remember Guru Harkrishan Sahib Ji and all our dukh will go. Nanak Naam jahaz hai jo chadhe so utre paar.
  2. no idea its the first time i saw the painting as well i imagine this is how Guru Sahib would of been curing the ill. lepers were considered worst than animals, they were below the untouchables, yet Guru Sahib embraced them
  3. Yh they told Bhai Mardhana to get some water from the lake but when he went the lake was turned into gems, they were basically trying to show off lol but they had no idea who Guru Nanak Dev Ji was. you seen the movie Nanak Shah Fakir? you might like it its on youtube if your interested.
  4. i think the siddh babe were like 100s of years old through magic attained through meditation they were able to extend their lives and were hiding up in the Himalayas. I think they tried showing off in front of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and they told Bhai Mardana to get some water from the lake and when Bhai Mardana got to the lake they turned the water into gem stones. They also through magic made all the animals in the area under their control.

  6. When i was a kid we used to have people living in our house for rent lol and i remember there used to be this old Jamaican guy, i must of been around 3 years old but i have a really gd memory so i remember a lot. I even remember his name. He used to take me to the shops in the buggy and buy me milkyway chocolate lol! i clearly remember everything. He had a sad life though, his wife through him out because he drank a lot and didnt let him see his son, so he gave me all his sons toys, i remember a old brown teddy bear he gave me. i clearly remember him. Having a really gd memory can be a gd thing and a not so gd thing at the same time. He eventually had to move out and soon after died all alone sad really ...
  7. At the gurdwara the Singh doing katha started telling a story about a family that he personally knows. He said they were not religious at all and were proper party animals and absolutely everything that Sikhi tells you not to do, the men and the women. There was nothing Sikh about them, the entire family. Apart from one lady from the family who used to go to the gurdwara most days. She was the only one that went gurdwara and did some paat pooja etc anyway, she used to do sewa at the langar hall. But when she used to do sew she used to be like those grumpy old buriyan that you see in the langar halls who behave like their dad owns the langar hall. She always used to be rude to the sangat, whenever anyone used to ask her for something she used to to do it but never with sweetness, she always used to be rude to the sangat despite doing sewa. Anyway, she got really ill one day and "died" when she was "dead" she was taken to Dharamraj's darbar, she saw people being tortured and screaming by the jamdhoots. She even saw her own family, husband, kids, relatives there with ropes around their necks hanging! physically they were alive and on earth but their souls were already up there with ropes around their necks hanging! she saw all her relatives! Then her turn came to get judged by Dharamraj. The Singh doing katha said she described Dharmaraj as a being with a white dastar and a long flowing white dhari, looking like a saint. He said to her that it was her time to go to Narak, but Dhan Dhan Guru Arjan Dev Ji has told me not to send you to Narak and that he want to give you another chance. Dharamraj told this lady that Guru Arjan Dev Ji has said continue doing sewa at the gurdwara but do it with love and sweetness. The lady then woke up from her "death" the Singh doing katha said that he personally knows the family and that the entire khandhaan is now Amrtidhari. Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj stepped in and saved the woman from being sent to Narak and gave her a second chance. Guru Arjan Dev Ji gave Dharamraj orders and told him not to send her Narak. Guru Sahib saves his Sikhs from falling into Narak. I had goosebumps sat there listening to this story. I narrated this story to my black Christian friend and she stuck her arm out and said she has goosebumps listening to the story. How blessed and lucky that woman was to have Guru Arjan Dev ji Maharaj save her from falling into Narak.
  8. yh iv seen videos of roofs and walls blowing off when theres a storm not very weather resistant lol
  9. honestly apart from 1 black grummpy woman iv never had a bad experience with a black person. they are quite inquisitive about other cultures and ask you questions not in a bad way but out of curiosity. and they always ask about indian food and how we make the turka lol my black friend told me that, because they way blacks were treated and the way the media portrays them, a lot of black people feel like they need to put up a front, like look hard, she said its a defense thing, which is quite understandable. culturally they are really similar especially the family aspect. by black friend was like whenever any black person does a house extension or makes a room in the loft, all the other Jamaican aunties in the local area come around to have a look and be nosy that reminded me of us lot lmao
  10. same when my fuffar visited he started telling us how his house is bigger than ours, he pointed to the end of our garden and said his house goes all the way up to there ? once all my massis daughters from canada visited and one of their sons was like your house is so small, and my cousin sister from here was like at least the roofs don't blow of when theres a storm outside ? my cousin sister recently visited from canada and she said how her brother has anger problems and he punches the walls, but she was like if he punches a wall of these british houses he would break his hand. there houses are like cardboard lol
  11. I really dnt worry or bother about the kind of people in the video. Most people from other communities know there is a difference between actual religious Sikhs then the other kind like the ones in the video. In my last job this paki kid was telling me how the sikh boys used to mess around in his school but then he said to me that he can tell that I'm the religious "type". Iv had other people say similar stuff like "the really religious Sikhs with blue turbans" or "sikh sect with blue turbans" iv had people say "your people" referring to religious sikhs that dont eat meat, differentiating us from the regular punjabis . Iv had a gora ask me which type of sikhi I am if I am the religious sikh or not religious sikh. I had a polish woman inviting me to a after work party and she was like "you obviously dont drink but you can still come" I never even told her I dnt drink lol Most people from other communities know there is a difference you would be surprised lol It seems a blue dumalla is associated with religious sikhs and it rightly should.
  12. Most my family is in Canada, iv never been neither am I interested in going. My family have been canada though. They seem either proper desi or proper gorafyed. Iv got family in Toronto, Montreal, Surrey and Brampton. My family living in brampton are proper desi, it's as if they never moved from punjab, my mother went there and she said it's as if she was in punjab. The family in Surrey are like a balance between gorafyed and punjabifyed, while the ones in Montreal and surrey are like goray. Not sure if this is the common trend lol. Idnno I think I'd go for brampton ?
  13. I haven't seen it around here. A few months back I saw a asian female with a black baby in the pram not sure if she was indian or paki though. When I was a kid I remember everyone was talking about it but some girl just b4 getting anand karaj ran away with a kala. The kala came outside the gurdwara on a motorbike and the bride hopped on and he drove off and the guests saw it. Poor families In school we had a few paki girls dating black guys but I dnt remember any punjabi females. But there was this one black girl that was dating a punjabi guy, and this other punjabi guy who went to my school is with a mixed race girl. I dont mind black people their alright
  14. Guru Arjan Dev Ji curing lepers at Tarn Taran Sahib
  15. They can never be your friends. If you do become a friend then you are replaceable for them, you will always be at the bottom of the pile. my "friends" at school were pakis.

thats some scary stuff yh i dnt think people get it, you can still date som1 without having sex or kissing them. if you date som1 to marry them and leave the sex/kissing for after marriage then it is fine imo

  20. yh its mixed around here a lot of su1eh but still has a sikh presence, around 20 sikh houses on my road, its not the best of areas but its still better than manor park, chalvey etc lol yh gurdwara is close by and so is khalsa primary school
