  1. I dont think one must be that stubborn about the way a Veg must be looked like....I think it is the suffering part for the animals nd they being GOD creatures we must avoid to harm them. Thats it and the first step towards that will be stop eating Non Veg. Other than that if you see the leather products will still be made. .....also fisheries is such huge industry and a bread provider to millions of homes probably...so u cant really take care of everything.... The best way to start is to avoid eating Non Veg as much as possible. Fateh
  2. No ....its a mega movie project by Vipul Shah...the same guy who made bollywood movies like Namastey London. In my opinion the Indian Media is just trying to cash on the Punjabi/Sikhi Image of them ruling the roost everywhere be it US/UK CANADA in a glamourous way, and my urge to sangat would be not to get distracted by such gimicks .... as we know that media will never take Full turban and bearded Sikh for the second gen indian youth.....there is no need to get ur mind upset over it. And to be honest if you visit punjab today you will get to see the same exact replica of sikhs but they still are very ankheeley and flaunt their punjabiyat (which again is matter which can be discussed) very proudly. Also for my very dear long sighted brothers.....there is no RSS /BJP/ISI/VHP involved trying to defame the sikh image. Fateh.
  3. Thanx a lot......u made my day. Sant Maskeen Jee did really massive seva for the Panth and his vichaars are really worth of implementation. I had been searching for Makeen Jis lectures from some time. Thanx again. Fateh
  4. I mostly agree of what was said by One love kaur ....as it quite clearly depicts todays sikhi... As for the concept of janeu goes someone please explain it to me...that dont we judge the person as amritdhari if he wears a Kirpan and then we go onto become judgemental about that persons way of thinking ....so do the Hindus differentiate between each other using the Janeu. Also why is it bad to realize god through some sort of form....ie Stone....Scripture...Picture.
  5. Nice to know that....but i heard Some Very Respected singhjee is leading the campaign in the US (in the Cali area prbbly ) wherein he has taught gora people kundalini yoga and so on... I repeat my question .....are there any forms of Meditations in sikhi.
  6. Sat Sri Akal. I'm no mahapurush and no human being is.....but what I can say is that We are humans and we are bound to flow with the emotions that we can or cannot control. If you do not feel the love , it does not at all mean that you have lost the faith forever...may be it is temporary phase and the testing time ...i think ur faith and devotion during this time will help you bind a stronger bond with the almighty. The existence and presence of the almighty is beyond the human understanding....so realize this thought and u might again be awestruck by the almighty's very concept. Just let this phase pass easily as one bad dream.......it is realy not possible that you show your devotion towards him and he will not re-instill his faith in you. Fateh
  7. Does any one know ny specific yoga form in sikhism which helps one reach the alphalevel of the mind and thus control his emotions and actions. I try the simple naam meditation in which I try to connect the soul with the almighty ......and it is blissful for those minutes and the relaxation is amazing. However I wish to go to the second level....ny guidance is appreciated... Please also describe your meditation experiences if u have had any blissfull occurings..... Fateh
  8. These drinks contain high levels of Caffenine....although once in while is nt bad ...however devloping a habit will cause high anxiety levels and as these are marketed as energy drinks they have high sugar mixed liquid ..regular consumption will also affect ur Sleeping pattern. Fateh
  9. maybe you could explain to us more about the karae' then ? I agree with Dancing Warrior. Way too many Sikhs give out these elaborate explanations of our symbols that are based on no evidence. Plain fact, there are no in depth explanations of the 5 ks that can be traced to Dasmesh pitas time. It seems a joke that you want to follow something and dont want to have logical or rather any kind of base to support ur beleif. Of course Guru Ji had guided all the Sikhs to wear the Five Ks keeping in mind the Spiritual as well as practical importance for every component . If you dont have reason or background for wearing a Kara or having Kes ...you will not be convinced with your own faith ....forget convincing the World. If the Sikhs arnd the world were to beleive the same as you say then, they we wudnt have survived with our Distinct Physical Appearance and wud have easily given up on Kakkars. It is because of a very strong practical and spiritual significance that the Sikh community is so firm on these. I'm nt against u in anyway...just against ur opinion. Fateh
  10. Well I quite second that..... I rather say to be a sikh is equivalent of being a learner.....for a learner the learning never stops ...so in my opinion we all are in our journey to become complete sikhs. In the context in which the question is asked I beleive that if an individual considers himself to be a sikh after getting to know the basics of Sikhism and what sikhisms message for the mankind ...he qualifies to be a sikh. Fateh
  11. Makes a ponit actually... Why do Sikhs have a feel of Insecurity with such a brave background.....just goes to show that nyone can rattle our community if they plan to do so.....
  12. I'm really sad and after seeing this...... how much ignorance shal prevail?????? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpMpF4uTUjg SSA.
  13. Paaji ...you definately should come to India ..It is really beautiful to visit all the Gurudwaras and experience the the bliss .....moreover the apprehensions that you about people giving you alien stares is a far away situation. Even moneh in Punjab respect the Keshdaris and no disrespect at all. However it is true that SIkhs who are even far away frm Punjab in India itself are apparently more sikh. However if you are looking for Some Active Khalistani movement...that wont be a very common site. I urge you to come and im sure you will leave with more than one resaon to be delighted SSA
  14. ur just a geeek man i swear eitha that or ur a hindu gandi was a erm......well i aint allowd to swear but u get my drift psssh father of a nation :umm: Din't quite get what u r tryin to say man!
  15. I really cant beleive there is so much crap and ignorance in this world. A pure political mind like Gandhi is rewarded the Crown Of Father Of Nation. We are truly living in the world of Falsehood. I dont know when people will speak and express themselves freely wiothout any fear and apprehensions.
  16. Gandhi was a pure Diplomat .....he changed the way even Congress idealogy began and potrayed the Christ of 20th Century Picture of His own. India's Independence was atleast delayed by a decade if not more because of His One Man Army idea. He could have easlily saved Shaheed Bhagat Singh but for that he would have come in the Bad Books of British hence that never happened. Also the very existence of Bhagat Singh was posing a threat to the Virtual Gandhi Empire. Even his theory of Non Violence is opposite the very basics teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji "Defending Your Rights Ideology". Nathuram Godse has mentioned in his speech that Gandhi declared Guru Gobind Singh Ji a misguided warrior which he states is completly wrong.
  17. It s very very true......Turban in India is more abt Fashion and style Statement more than being a gift of GuruJi ...I stay in India ..nt In Punjab though but all the observations made are very correct. With Cut beards I hardly see any Intellectual GurSikhs in Urban or Rural Punjab. I should be the last person on earth to judge anyone on their sikh values but sometimes I just cant help my frustration grow. I dont say that Cutsurds or Monay are bad but we expect some more devotion at the Birthplace of Sikhism. I see people Outside the state of Punjab being more religon conscious and closer towards Gursikh Values. Its really heartwarming to know that people outside India are So Sikhi Conscious and try to Uphold their Sikh Values against all Odds. Fateh!
  18. Gandhi "A mahatama or What" This is the speech of Godse i read on net. After readin this I totally have different views abt Gandhi. Even b4 reading this I was among those who dont like Gandhi (still I am among those only). But this thing, I never thought of: Godse's defense speech in court... "Born in a devotional Brahmin family, I instinctively came to revere Hindu religion, Hindu history and Hindu culture. I had, therefore, been intensely proud of Hinduism as a whole. As I grew up I developed a tendency to free thinking unfettered by any superstitious allegiance to any isms, political or religious. That is why I worked actively for the eradication of untouchability and the caste system based on birth alone. I openly joined anti-caste movements and maintained that all Hindus were of equal status as to rights, social and religious and should be considered high or low on merit alone and not through the accident of birth in a particular caste or profession. I used publicly to take part in organized anti-caste dinners in which thousands of Hindus, Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaisyas, Chamars and Bhangis participated. We broke the caste rules and dined in the company of each other. I have read the speeches and writings of Dadabhai Nairoji, Vivekanand, Gokhale, Tilak, along with the books of ancient and modern history of India and some prominent countries like England, France, America and' Russia. Moreover I studied the tenets of Socialism and Marxism. But above all I studied very closely whatever Veer Savarkar and Gandhiji had written and spoken, as to my mind these two ideologies have contributed more to the moulding of the thought and action of the Indian people during the last thirty years or so, than any other single factor has done. All this reading and thinking led me to believe it was my first duty to serve Hindudom and Hindus both as a patriot and as a world citizen. To secure the freedom and to safeguard the just interests of some thirty crores (300 million) of Hindus would automatically constitute the freedom and the well being of all India, one fifth of human race. This conviction led me naturally to devote myself to the Hindu Sanghtanist ideology and programme, which alone, I came to believe, could win and preserve the national independence of Hindustan, my Motherland, and enable her to render true service to humanity as well. Since the year 1920, that is, after the demise of Lokamanya Tilak, Gandhiji's influence in the Congress first increased and then became supreme. His activities for public awakening were phenomenal in their intensity and were reinforced by the slogan of truth and non-violence, which he paraded ostentatiously before the country. No sensible or enlightened person could object to those slogans. In fact there is nothing new or original in them. They are implicit in every constitutional public movement. But it is nothing but a mere dream if you imagine that the bulk of mankind is, or can ever become, capable of scrupulous adherence to these lofty principles in its normal life from day to day. In fact, honour, duty and love of one's own kith and kin and country might often compel us to disregard non-violence and to use force. I could never conceive that an armed resistance to an aggression is unjust. I would consider it a religious and moral duty to resist and, if possible, to overpower such an enemy by use of force. [in the Ramayana] Rama killed Ravana in a tumultuous fight and relieved Sita. [in the Mahabharata], Krishna killed Kansa to end his wickedness; and Arjuna had to fight and slay quite a number of his friends and relations including the revered Bhishma because the latter was on the side of the aggressor. It is my firm belief that in dubbing Rama, Krishna and Arjuna as guilty of violence, the Mahatma betrayed a total ignorance of the springs of human action. In more recent history, it was the heroic fight put up by Chhatrapati Shivaji that first checked and eventually destroyed the Muslim tyranny in India. It was absolutely essentially for Shivaji to overpower and kill an aggressive Afzal Khan, failing which he would have lost his own life. In condemning history's towering warriors like Shivaji, Rana Pratap and Guru Gobind Singh as misguided patriots, Gandhiji has merely exposed his self-conceit. He was, paradoxical, as it may appear, a violent pacifist who brought untold calamities on the country in the name of truth and non-violence, while Rana Pratap, Shivaji and the Guru will remain enshrined in the hearts of their countrymen forever for the freedom they brought to them. The accumulating provocation of thirty-two years, culminating in his last pro-Muslim fast, at last goaded me to the conclusion that the existence of Gandhi should be brought to an end immediately. Gandhi had done very well in South Africa to uphold the rights and well being of the Indian community there. But when he finally returned to India he developed a subjective mentality under which he alone was to be the final judge of what was right or wrong. If the country wanted his leadership, it had to accept his infallibility; if it did not, he would stand aloof from the Congress and carry on his own way. Against such an attitude there can be no halfway house. Either Congress had to surrender its will to his and had to be content with playing second fiddle to all his eccentricity, whimsicality, metaphysics and primitive vision, or it had to carry on without him. He alone was the Judge of everyone and everything; he was the master brain guiding the civil disobedience movement; no other could know the technique of that movement. He alone knew when to begin and when to withdraw it. The movement might succeed or fail, it might bring untold disaster and political reverses but that could make no difference to the Mahatma's infallibility. 'A Satyagrahi can never fail' was his formula for declaring his own infallibility and nobody except himself knew what a Satyagrahi is. Thus, the Mahatma became the judge and jury in his own cause. These childish insanities and obstinacies, coupled with a most severe austerity of life, ceaseless work and lofty character made Gandhi formidable and irresistible. Many people thought that his politics were irrational but they had either to withdraw from the Congress or place their intelligence at his feet to do with, as he liked. In a position of such absolute irresponsibility Gandhi was guilty of blunder after blunder, failure after failure, disaster after disaster. Gandhi's pro-Muslim policy is blatantly in his perverse attitude on the question of the national language of India. It is quite obvious that Hindi has the most prior claim to be accepted as the premier language. In the beginning of his career in India, Gandhi gave a great impetus to Hindi but as he found that the Muslims did not like it, he became a champion of what is called Hindustani. Everybody in India knows that there is no language called Hindustani; it has no grammar; it has no vocabulary. It is a mere dialect; it is spoken, but not written. It is a <admin-profanity filter activated> tongue and crossbreed between Hindi and Urdu, and not even the Mahatma's sophistry could make it popular. But in his desire to please the Muslims he insisted that Hindustani alone should be the national language of India. His blind followers, of course, supported him and the so-called hybrid language began to be used. The charm and purity of the Hindi language was to be prostituted to please the Muslims. All his experiments were at the expense of the Hindus. From August 1946 onwards the private armies of the Muslim League began a massacre of the Hindus. The then Viceroy, Lord Wavell, though distressed at what was happening, would not use his powers under the Government of India Act of 1935 to prevent the rape, murder and arson. The Hindu blood began to flow from Bengal to Karachi with some retaliation by the Hindus. The Interim Government formed in September was sabotaged by its Muslim League members right from its inception, but the more they became disloyal and treasonable to the government of which they were a part, the greater was Gandhi's infatuation for them. Lord Wavell had to resign as he could not bring about a settlement and he was succeeded by Lord Mountbatten. King Log was followed by King Stork. The Congress, which had boasted of its nationalism and socialism, secretly accepted Pakistan literally at the point of the bayonet and abjectly surrendered to Jinnah. India was vivisected and one-third of the Indian territory became foreign land to us from August 15, 1947. Lord Mountbatten came to be described in Congress circles as the greatest Viceroy and Governor-General this country ever had. The official date for handing over power was fixed for June 30, 1948, but Mountbatten with his ruthless surgery gave us a gift of vivisected India ten months in advance. This is what Gandhi had achieved after thirty years of undisputed dictatorship and this is what Congress party calls 'freedom' and 'peaceful transfer of power'. The Hindu-Muslim unity bubble was finally burst and a theocratic state was established with the consent of Nehru and his crowd and they have called 'freedom won by them with sacrifice' - whose sacrifice? When top leaders of Congress, with the consent of Gandhi, divided and tore the country - which we consider a deity of worship - my mind was filled with direful anger. One of the conditions imposed by Gandhi for his breaking of the fast unto death related to the mosques in Delhi occupied by the Hindu refugees. But when Hindus in Pakistan were subjected to violent attacks he did not so much as utter a single word to protest and censure the Pakistan Government or the Muslims concerned. Gandhi was shrewd enough to know that while undertaking a fast unto death, had he imposed for its break some condition on the Muslims in Pakistan, there would have been found hardly any Muslims who could have shown some grief if the fast had ended in his death. It was for this reason that he purposely avoided imposing any condition on the Muslims. He was fully aware of from the experience that Jinnah was not at all perturbed or influenced by his fast and the Muslim League hardly attached any value to the inner voice of Gandhi. Gandhi is being referred to as the Father of the Nation. But if that is so, he had failed his paternal duty inasmuch as he has acted very treacherously to the nation by his consenting to the partitioning of it. I stoutly maintain that Gandhi has failed in his duty. He has proved to be the Father of Pakistan. His inner-voice, his spiritual power and his doctrine of non-violence of which so much is made of, all crumbled before Jinnah's iron will and proved to be powerless. Briefly speaking, I thought to myself and foresaw I shall be totally ruined, and the only thing I could expect from the people would be nothing but hatred and that I shall have lost all my honour, even more valuable than my life, if I were to kill Gandhiji. But at the same time I felt that the Indian politics in the absence of Gandhiji would surely be proved practical, able to retaliate, and would be powerful with armed forces. No doubt, my own future would be totally ruined, but the nation would be saved from the inroads of Pakistan. People may even call me and dub me as devoid of any sense or foolish, but the nation would be free to follow the course founded on the reason which I consider to be necessary for sound nation-building. After having fully considered the question, I took the final decision in the matter, but I did not speak about it to anyone whatsoever. I took courage in both my hands and I did fire the shots at Gandhiji on 30th January 1948, on the prayer-grounds of Birla House. I do say that my shots were fired at the person whose policy and action had brought rack and ruin and destruction to millions of Hindus. There was no legal machinery by which such an offender could be brought to book and for this reason I fired those fatal shots. I bear no ill will towards anyone individually but I do say that I had no respect for the present government owing to their policy, which was unfairly favourable towards the Muslims. But at the same time I could clearly see that the policy was entirely due to the presence of Gandhi. I have to say with great regret that Prime Minister Nehru quite forgets that his preachings and deeds are at times at variances with each other when he talks about India as a secular state in season and out of season, because it is significant to note that Nehru has played a leading role in the establishment of the theocratic state of Pakistan, and his job was made easier by Gandhi's persistent policy of appeasement towards the Muslims. I now stand before the court to accept the full share of my responsibility for what I have done and the judge would, of course, pass against me such orders of sentence as may be considered proper. But I would like to add that I do not desire any mercy to be shown to me, nor do I wish that anyone else should beg for mercy on my behalf. My confidence about the moral side of my action has not been shaken even by the criticism levelled against it on all sides. I have no doubt that honest writers of history will weigh my act and find the true value thereof some day in future." - NATHURAM GODSE Incidentall the same man is known to be an RSS activist but he left RSS before the assassination.
  19. I dont need Khalistan... All you NRIs .....its becoming All Fart No SHI* Come to India...contribute for the Devlopment of Sikhi...Make Punjab Smack Free. Have You ever been to Punjab recently ...if yes then you wud'nt be making tall claims even if you had the Strongest Conviction for Khalistan. Khalistan is far from reality.. Can an Singh Khalistani tell me ...wass the first step towrds this so called Sikh Homeland? Who and How are these steps being taken. The fight for Khalistan only will cast a shdow for more violence among the Sangat. We are not slaves to this Indian Govt...in India I live as a Free Sikh.
  20. It is practically impossible to have Khalistan. I dont need it either. I want to be free wherever I go as sikh in the world...not a Tiger in My DEN only. What are you trying to prove when you say that Sikhs are not free to practise their religon....are you encouragins Sikhs to leave their place of Livlihood and come to Khalistan for free practise .....it has to be the other way round.....we need to make a mark for ourselves wherever we go and live and have feeling of Belonging to that place.
  21. Clearly Shows how tolerant u are whn it comes to dealing people with different views calling ManMohan Singh Hindu. Wonder if you want to convince evryone for Khalistan with the Same Attitude. DUDE U may be Knowin a lotta history abt 84 and the Violent Events after that. Go back a little more and try to see how toelrant and humble sikhs have been. Even If he is a Keshdhari Hindu he is doing much better than those Posers sitting outhere. I just dont get one point ....y does a sikh need a separate state to practise his religon with liberty. Are we incompetent for practising our faith in any corner of the world. If you think there are corrupt peope in the system ...then you enter the main system and change for th good for mankind not just for Sikhs alone. akitosforever, i agree with u that sikhs can practice their religion anywhere in world... but, my point is that we have to practice sikhism with pride... in india, sikhs r often beaten...their kesh r often mishandeled...is this wat u call practicing sikhism...(with pride).. so, we do need a separate state to practise our religion with liberty... and about corrupt political system of india,, its not so easy to enter that system and improve it...its not easy to form a sikh govt. in a hindu majority state... and its not easy for 1 sikh to go against all his corrupt party members... u can take example of manmohan singh.. why is he not taking any action against corrupt leaders... becoz its not just 1-2 corrupt leaders in india... 90% of them r corrupt... and if anyoe goes against them.. then it is not possible for him to continue his govt. with only 10% support.... so, the final point is that khalistan is a neccesity... not a useless demand... Glad that you considered an opinion like an opinion.... However My Point is that the corrupt people that you talk about in the Indian Govt ....are'nt any sikhs part of this very govt... and lets say Hypothetically when Khalistan is formed do you think that there will be new breed of Sikhs politiciansand the Pure leaders will Rule...Completely wrong .....it will be the Very same corrupt Sikhs with just different political parties . And sikhs being beaten and insulted in India today....what will happen more when Khalistan will be formed ....there will be more insulting and beating for the Sikhs ...havent u witnessed the Homelessness Fellings of the Humble Muslims after the Formation of Pakistan. Till date Muslim is being taunted being Pakistani. Khalistan formation would definately not be all by peaceful means, what do you these RSS/BJP people will do to the Indian Sikhs . Why hasnt justice been done till date for the Culprits for Post 84 events. becuase there are so many sikh supporters for people like Tytler. You add to that he state of the State Punjab. Cant we concentrate on Bigger Issues like the Drug Abuse in Punjab. People shying away from Sikhi ....children from Gursikh families are shedding Hair. People who tell that their will be Democracy and Hindus/Muslims/Christians will have equal rights in Khalistan.....and the same people have so much hate against Hindus instead of hate only against corrupt Individuals when I read their Posts. Tell me why there has been no single post for the Hindus who Helped the SIkhs in the releif Camps in the 84 Riots. Why there has been no appreciation for the Lawyer who has done life devoting research after Khalras Abduction for the Mass Sikh Killings in Punjab. Dont those Hindus Deserve some respect . There are my points and Im pretty rigid about them. Fateh

  23. Veeron Said it before..... Sayin it again....Sikhs Dont need Khalsitan. and i say it without any second thughts too. Tribute & Heads down respect all the shaheeds of 84 and all who contributed for the Formation of Khalistan when it was required and needed. What Sikhi needs is Unity in the Panth and people to move out of their $ Houses $ and work for the Panth. You people got no Idea what level of conviction and commitment it takes to when we talk abt formation of a Nation. Is the formation of a state its culmination???????What about its success as Country and the Survival of the people after the formation of the political boundaries. Show me one place in India where there is agitation in the Sikh Masses against the present Indian Government. Please anwer these questions before continuing your plans for the State. Fateh.
