What granths have been kept by certain groups of people throughout history? I think Dasam granth was kept gupt from the English to an extent during colonial rule and I have heard of Sau Sakhi (the real one not the adulterated one) being kept gupt with certain sampardas. I also think that all of Sarabloh granth was kept gupt for a long time by the nihangs. What other gupt granths do we know or have heard mentions of?

I think that what @Suchi is trying to do is give his 2 cents but it is important for him to know that Guru Sahib has always a reason behind his hukam. So while I respect your view on experimenting for yourself, I don't think we should break rehit and if we want to become a Gurmukh, we have to follow the Guru's way of thinking. We as Sikhs surrender to Guru Sahib and Akal Purakh.

I agree that Gurbani has many layers but I would be careful when it comes to idols as it becomes a rabbit hole of sorts
