    I’ll be honest, our lot, (especially “Gursikhs”), are kinda dumb when it comes to street smarts.

    True, I think it’s important that we become more humble and not be talking about of how great Sikhs we are but rather be grateful for Guru Sahib. It’s also easier for our lot to talk about how Hindus and Muslims try to kill us, but we hide the parts where the enemy is one of our own, (KPS Gill, Badal, Brar).

    There’s no reason at all to be casteist in the west at all. Unless you are an actual farmer in the west; what’s the point of being proud of being a farmer? That too, the idea that people would get judged because 10 generations ago, one of their ancestors made shoes for a living is an extremely backward concept. If you want to discriminate someone, (which you shouldn’t), you should judge them based on their current status, not their ancestors status.

    Same reason any of us fall short of following Guru Sahib’s bachans, (Haumai). But logically speaking, the Mahants did help introduce caste into our psyche. The strongest mahants, (Nankana and Harmandir Sahib Wale), were known for discrimination against Dalits which was part of the reason they got booted.

    Someone can marry a Punjabi, doesn’t mean they’d stop being racist towards them. In the same way a Jatt could marry a chamar but still hold views of superiority. Just go on social media and see all the gandh in our community.
