My soul, body and wealth are all Thine. ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ = ਮੈਂ ਗੁਣ ਹੀਨ ਵਿਚ। ਸਾਕਉ = ਸਾਕਉਂ। ਪਹੁਚਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ = ਮੈਂ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, ਮੈਂ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਮੈਂ ਕਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਸਕਦਾ। ਘਾਲ = ਮੇਹਨਤ, ਉਹ ਮੇਹਨਤ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਣ ਲਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਗਤਿ = ਆਤਮਕ ਹਾਲਤ। ਮਿਤਿ = ਮਾਪ। ਤੁਮਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ = ਤੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਮਾਪ, ਤੂੰ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਡਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ। ਜੀਉ = ਜਿੰਦ। ਪਿੰਡੁ = ਸਰੀਰ। ਸਭੁ = ਸਾਰਾ। ਮਾਲ = ਸਰਮਾਇਆ।੧। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਗੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਮੇਹਨਤ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਸਕਦਾ (ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ)। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਡਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ-ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ। (ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਹ) ਸਰੀਰ ਤੇ ਜਿੰਦ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ।੧। ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਨਬੋਲਤ ਹੀ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਹਾਲ ॥ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਹਮਾਰੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੨੧॥ Anṯarjāmī purakẖ su▫āmī anbolaṯ hī jānhu hāl. @ Balbir Singh Ji, from the little I gathered through the Shabad Bhagat Ji is conveying a message for us, how our minds should be attuned to Waheguru Ji, to Maharaj. Bhagat Ji has given examples in the shabad how we should remember Waheguru Ji. In the last panktee of the shabad he speaks about a mother who's child is in the cradle and while she carries her house chores, she constantly keeps her child in her mind. This is how we should remember Waheguru as we go about our daily routines, with our mann always attuned with Him. This is the little i could gather ji, please forgive wherever i made mistakes. Prays Nanak, my hopes are fulfilled; my Lord and Master is unlimited. ||5||1||3|| ਧਨਿ ਧੰਨਿ = {धन्य धन्य} ਬਹੁਤ ਚੰਗੇ, ਬਹੁਤ ਸਲਾਹਣ-ਯੋਗ। ਘਰਿ = ਘਰ ਵਿਚ। ਪਿਰੁ = ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ। ਸੋਹੇ = ਸੋਹਣੇ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਬੰਕ = ਸੋਹਣੇ, ਬਾਂਕੇ। ਦੁਆਰ = (ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਘਰ ਦੇ) ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ, ਸਾਰੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ। ਬਨੁ = ਜੰਗਲ, ਜੂਹ, ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਜੂਹ। ਹਰਾ = ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ। ਹਰ ਹਰਾ = ਹਰਾ ਹਰਾ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ। ਸੁਖਹਗਾਮੀ = ਸੁਖਾਂ ਤਕ ਅਪੜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਮੰਗਲ = ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ। ਰਸੁ = ਸੁਆਦ, ਆਨੰਦ। ਘਣਾ = ਬਹੁਤ। ਨਵਲ = ਨਵਾਂ। ਨਵਤਨ = ਨਵਾਂ, ਨਵੇਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਾਲਾ। ਨਾਹੁ = ਨਾਥੁ, ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ। ਰਸਨਾ = ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ। ਕਵਨ ਗੁਨ = ਕਿਹੜੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਣ? ਭਣਾ = ਭਣਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਾਂ। ਸੇਜ = ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਸੇਜ। ਸੋਹੀ = ਸਜ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਦੇਖਿ = ਵੇਖ ਕੇ। ਸਹਸਾ = ਸਹਿਮ। ਹਰਾ = ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਅਪਰੰਪਰਾ = ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ, ਬੇਅੰਤ।੫। ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-) ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰਾ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਪਤੀ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗ ਪਏ ਹਨ। (ਮੇਰੇ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਘਰ ਦੇ) ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ (ਸਾਰੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਹੁਣ ਇਹ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲ ਖਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦੇ, ਮੇਰਾ) ਸਾਰਾ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਜੂਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਆਦ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਮੇਰਾ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਨਵਾਂ ਹੈ ਜੁਆਨ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਦੇ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ)। ਮੈਂ (ਆਪਣੀ) ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਕਿਹੜੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਣ ਦੱਸਾਂ? ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-(ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਣ ਨਾਲ) ਮੇਰੀ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਸੇਜ ਸਜ ਗਈ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦਾ) ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹਾਂ (ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਹਰੇਕ ਸਹਿਮ ਤੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।੫।੩। Ang. 847 kirtan :waheguru:

There are thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, many millions of them, but those who contemplate them are very rare. ||1|| ਕਵਨ ਕਵਨ ਗੁਨ = ਕਿਹੜੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਣ? ਕਹੀਐ = ਬਿਆਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ। ਪਾਰੈ = ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ। ਕਈ ਕੋਰੈ = ਕਈ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ। ਕੋ ਹੈ = ਕੋਈ (ਵਿਰਲਾ) ਹੈ। ਐਸੋ = ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ। ਬੀਚਾਰੈ = ਬੀਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।੧। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਲੱਖਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ (ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਇਉਂ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ।੧। ਬਿਸਮ ਬਿਸਮ ਬਿਸਮ ਹੀ ਭਈ ਹੈ ਲਾਲ ਗੁਲਾਲ ਰੰਗਾਰੈ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤਨ ਰਸੁ ਆਈ ਹੈ ਜਿਉ ਚਾਖਿ ਗੂੰਗਾ ਮੁਸਕਾਰੈ ॥੨॥੧॥੨੦॥ Bisam bisam bisam hī bẖa▫ī hai lāl gulāl rangārai. You got some amazing recipe above. If you like in spinach sauce, here's a very simple one. Its not got much masale though. 1. Boil pasta as mentioned above, depending upon which one it is. Keep aside. 2. In a saucepan, add a tbsp of butter/ oil & add chopped garlic & onions to it. Saute while on low heat. 3. Add a cup (or more) of milk to this & let it cook for a while. If you wish to thicken this sauce, add a tsp of cornflour. Stir well & switch off the gas. 4. Boil some spinach (say 150 – 200—gms), drain the water & allow to cool. Blend this well in a blender. This puree can now be added to the white sauce that you made. Allow to cook on low heat, add salt, pepper to your taste. Add the boiled pasta to this sauce, blend in well & its ready to eat. You have so many forms and colors, so many classes, high and low. ||3|| ਕੁਦਰਤੀ = ਕੁਦਰਤਾਂ। ਦਾਤਿ = ਦਾਤਾਂ। ਕੇਤੇ = ਬੇਅੰਤ। ਜਾਤਿ ਅਜਾਤਿ = ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਜਾਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਨੀਵੀਆਂ ਜਾਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵ।੩। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਹਨ, ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂ ਹਨ। ਬੇਅੰਤ ਜੀਵ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਾਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਤੇਰੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੀ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਹਨ, ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਜੀਵ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਨੀਵੀਆਂ ਜਾਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ।੩। ਸਚੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਚੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਸਚ ਮਹਿ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਤਿ ਊਗਵੈ ਗੁਰਬਚਨੀ ਭਉ ਖਾਇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਾ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ ਆਪੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੪॥੧੦॥ Sacẖ milai sacẖ ūpjai sacẖ mėh sācẖ samā▫e. O Nanak, the True King absorbs us into Himself. ||4||10|| ਸਾਚਿ = ਸੱਚ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਸਚ ਮਹਿ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ। ਭਉ ਖਾਇ = ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਹਮ-ਡਰ ਮੁਕਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਜੁੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਸੰਸਾਰਕ ਡਰ ਮੁਕਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੧੦। Ang. 17 - 18

The Sovereign Lord of the Universe is the Saving Grace, the Protector of the capital of His devotees. ||1|| ਬਿਘਨੁ = ਰੁਕਾਵਟ। ਕੋਊ = ਕੋਈ ਭੀ। ਪਹਿ = ਪਾਸ। ਰਾਇ = ਰਾਜਾ। ਰਾਸਿ = ਸਰਮਾਇਆ।੧। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ (ਸਦਾ) ਆਪ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ। (ਜੇਹੜੇ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ) ਕੋਈ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ।੧। ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਕਦੇ ਮੂਲਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਬਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੨॥ Ŧot na āvai kaḏe mūl pūran bẖandār. Cẖaran kamal man ṯan base parabẖ agam apār. ||2|| There is never any deficiency at all; the Lord's treasures are over-flowing. His Lotus Feet are enshrined within my mind and body; God is inaccessible and infinite. ||2|| ਤੋਟਿ = ਘਾਟ। ਨ ਮੂਲਿ = ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਨਹੀਂ। ਪੂਰਨ = ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ। ਭੰਡਾਰ = ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ। ਮਨਿ = ਮਨ ਵਿਚ। ਤਨਿ = ਤਨ ਵਿਚ। ਅਗਮ = ਅਪਹੁੰਚ। ਅਪਾਰ = ਬੇਅੰਤ।੨। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਇਕ ਐਸਾ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ) ਭੰਡਾਰੇ ਭਰੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਥੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ) ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਤੋਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ। (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਣ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।੨। ਬਸਤ ਕਮਾਵਤ ਸਭਿ ਸੁਖੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਊਨ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ॥ ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਭੇਟੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪੂਰਨ ਜਗਦੀਸੈ ॥੩॥ Basaṯ kamāvaṯ sabẖ sukẖī kicẖẖ ūn na ḏīsai. Sanṯ parsāḏ bẖete parabẖū pūran jagḏīsai. ||3|| All those who work for Him dwell in peace; you can see that they lack nothing. By the Grace of the Saints, I have met God, the Perfect Lord of the Universe. ||3|| ਬਸਤ = (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ, ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿਚ) ਵੱਸਦਿਆਂ। ਸਭਿ = ਸਾਰੇ। ਊਨ = ਕਮੀ, ਘਾਟਾ। ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ। ਭੇਟੇ = ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਗਦੀਸੈ = ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ।੩। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ) ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਗੱਲੇ ਕੋਈ ਥੁੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦੀ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੩। ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਸਭੈ ਕਰਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਥਾਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਇਆ ॥ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਸੁਖ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੩੩॥੬੩॥ Jai jai kār sabẖai karahi sacẖ thān suhā▫i▫ā. Jap Nānak nām niḏẖān sukẖ pūrā gur pā▫i▫ā. ||4||33||63|| Everyone congratulates me, and celebrates my victory; the home of the True Lord is so beautiful! Nanak chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the treasure of peace; I have found the Perfect Guru. ||4||33||63|| ਜੈ ਜੈਕਾਰੁ = ਸੋਭਾ, ਵਡਿਆਈ। ਕਰਹਿ = ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਚੁ = ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਸੁਹਾਇਆ = ਸੋਹਣਾ। ਜਪਿ = ਜਪ ਕੇ। ਨਿਧਾਨ ਸੁਖ = ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ।੪। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਦੇ ਹਨ) ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸੋਭਾ-ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਇਕ ਐਸਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ (ਸਦਾ ਲਈ) ਮਿਲਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਈਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੩੩।੬੩। Keep the faith!

Pārbarahm ṯū rākẖi▫ā ḏe apne hāth. ||1|| rahā▫o. No one can threaten you now, O my humble friend, for you are the slave of the Guru. (ਜੇ) ਤੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ (ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇਂ, ਤਾਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਰੱਖ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨੀ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। ਜੀਅਨ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਬੀਆ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਰੁ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀਆ ਮੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੋਰੁ ॥੨॥੯॥੭੩॥ Jī▫an kā ḏāṯā ek hai bī▫ā nahī hor. Cẖiṯ āvai os pārbarahm ṯā nihcẖal hovai rāj. ||2|| If you are weakened by the pains of hunger and poverty, with no money in your pockets, and no one will give you any comfort, and no one will satisfy your hopes and desires, and none of your works is accomplished - if you then come to remember the Supreme Lord God, you shall obtain the eternal kingdom. ||2|| ਦੁਬਲਾ = ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ। ਪੀਰ = ਪੀੜਾ, ਦੁੱਖ। ਧੀਰ = ਧੀਰਜ, ਹੌਸਲਾ, ਧਰਵਾਸ। ਸੁਆਰਥੁ = ਆਪਣੀ ਗ਼ਰਜ਼। ਸੁਆਉ = ਸੁਆਰਥ, ਮਨੋਰਥ। ਨਿਹਚਲੁ = ਅਟੱਲ।੨। ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਅਜੇਹਾ) ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ (ਕਿ) ਭੁੱਖ ਨੰਗ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਰਹੇ), ਜੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਪੈਸਾ ਨਾਹ ਹੋਵੇ, ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੌਸਲਾ ਨਾ ਦੇਵੇ; ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ = ਗ਼ਰਜ਼ ਪੂਰੀ ਨਾਹ ਕਰੇ, ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ ਸਿਰੇ ਨਾਹ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਸਕੇ (ਅਜੇਹੀ ਦੁਰਦਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਭੀ) ਜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਅਟੱਲ ਰਾਜ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਅਜੇਹੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਡੋਲੇ)।੨। ਜਾ ਕਉ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦੇਹੀ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਰੋਗੁ ॥ ਗ੍ਰਿਸਤਿ ਕੁਟੰਬਿ ਪਲੇਟਿਆ ਕਦੇ ਹਰਖੁ ਕਦੇ ਸੋਗੁ ॥ ਗਉਣੁ ਕਰੇ ਚਹੁ ਕੁੰਟ ਕਾ ਘੜੀ ਨ ਬੈਸਣੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਓਸੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥ Jā ka▫o cẖinṯā bahuṯ bahuṯ ḏehī vi▫āpai rog. Garisaṯ kutamb paleti▫ā kaḏe harakẖ kaḏe sog. Ga▫oṇ kare cẖahu kunt kā gẖaṛī na baisaṇ so▫e. Cẖiṯ āvai os pārbarahm ṯan man sīṯal ho▫e. ||3|| When you are plagued by great and excessive anxiety, and diseases of the body; when you are wrapped up in the attachments of household and family, sometimes feeling joy, and then other times sorrow; when you are wandering around in all four directions, and you cannot sit or sleep even for a moment - if you come to remember the Supreme Lord God, then your body and mind shall be cooled and soothed. ||3|| ਦੇਹੀ = ਸਰੀਰ (ਨੂੰ)। ਵਿਆਪੈ = ਜ਼ੋਰ ਪਾ ਲਏ। ਗ੍ਰਿਸਤਿ = ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤ ਵਿਚ। ਹਰਖੁ = ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ। ਸੋਗੁ = ਚਿੰਤਾ। ਗਉਣੁ = ਗਮਨ, ਭ੍ਰਮਨ। ਬੈਸਣੁ = ਬੈਠਣਾ, ਆਰਾਮ। ਸੋਇ = ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ।੩। ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਬੜੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਬਣੀ ਰਹੇ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ (ਕੋਈ ਨ ਕੋਈ) ਰੋਗ ਗ੍ਰਸੀ ਰੱਖੇ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤ (ਦੇ ਜੰਜਾਲ) ਵਿਚ ਪਰਵਾਰ (ਦੇ ਜੰਜਾਲ) ਵਿਚ (ਸਦਾ) ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹੇ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਗ਼ਮ ਘੇਰੀ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਘੜੀ ਭਰ ਬਹਿਣਾ ਭੀ ਨਸੀਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਪਰ ਜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਵੱਸੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤਨ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ (ਸੰਤੋਖ ਨਾਲ) ਠੰਢਾ-ਠਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੩। ਕਾਮਿ ਕਰੋਧਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਵਸਿ ਕੀਆ ਕਿਰਪਨ ਲੋਭਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ ਚਾਰੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਉਨਿ ਅਘ ਕੀਏ ਹੋਆ ਅਸੁਰ ਸੰਘਾਰੁ ॥ ਪੋਥੀ ਗੀਤ ਕਵਿਤ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਕਰਨਿ ਧਰਿਆ ॥ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਓਸੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਤਾ ਨਿਮਖ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਤਰਿਆ ॥੪॥ Kām karoḏẖ mohi vas kī▫ā kirpan lobẖ pi▫ār. Cẖāre kilvikẖ un agẖ kī▫e ho▫ā asur sangẖār. Pothī gīṯ kaviṯ kicẖẖ kaḏe na karan ḏẖari▫ā. Cẖiṯ āvai os pārbarahm ṯā nimakẖ simraṯ ṯari▫ā. ||4|| When you are under the power of sexual desire, anger and worldly attachment, or a greedy miser in love with your wealth; if you have committed the four great sins and other mistakes; even if you are a murderous fiend who has never taken the time to listen to sacred books, hymns and poetry - if you then come to remember the Supreme Lord God, and contemplate Him, even for a moment, you shall be saved. ||4|| ਕਾਮਿ = ਕਾਮ ਨੇ। ਮੋਹਿ = ਮੋਹ ਨੇ। ਕਿਰਪਨ = ਕੰਜੂਸ। ਲੋਭਿ = ਲੋਭ ਵਿਚ। ਕਿਲਵਿਖ = ਪਾਪ। ਉਨਿ = ਉਸ ਨੇ। ਅਘ = ਪਾਪ। ਚਾਰੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ = {ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਕੈਲੀ ਘਾਤ ਕੰਞਕਾ, ਅਣਚਾਰੀ ਕਾ ਧਾਨੁ}। ਅਸੁਰ ਸੰਘਾਰੁ = ਸੰਘਾਰਨ ਜੋਗ ਅਸੁਰ। ਕਰਨਿ = ਕੰਨ ਵਿਚ। ਕਰਨਿ ਧਰਿਆ = ਸੁਣਿਆ। ਨਿਮਖ = {निमेष} ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਸਮਾ।੪। ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਮ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨੇ ਮੋਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜੇ ਉਸ ਸ਼ੂਮ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ (ਸਦਾ) ਲੋਭ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਚਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਉੱਘੇ ਪਾਪ = ਅਪਰਾਧ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਣ, ਜੇ ਉਹ ਅਜੇਹਾ ਭੈੜਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਹੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਧਰਮ = ਪੁਸਤਕ ਕੋਈ ਧਰਮ = ਗੀਤ ਕੋਈ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਸੁਣੀ ਨਾਹ ਹੋਵੇ, ਪਰ ਜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਫੋਰ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੪। ਸਾਸਤ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਬੇਦ ਚਾਰਿ ਮੁਖਾਗਰ ਬਿਚਰੇ ॥ ਤਪੇ ਤਪੀਸਰ ਜੋਗੀਆ ਤੀਰਥਿ ਗਵਨੁ ਕਰੇ ॥ ਖਟੁ ਕਰਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੁਗੁਣੇ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਤਾ ਨਾਇ ॥ ਰੰਗੁ ਨ ਲਗੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਤਾ ਸਰਪਰ ਨਰਕੇ ਜਾਇ ॥੫॥ Sāsaṯ simriṯ beḏ cẖār mukẖāgar bicẖre. Ŧape ṯapīsar jogī▫ā ṯirath gavan kare. Kẖat karmā ṯe ḏuguṇai pūjā karṯā nā▫e. Rang na lagī pārbarahm ṯā sarpar narke jā▫e. ||5|| People may recite by heart the Shaastras, the Simritees and the four Vedas; they may be ascetics, great, self-disciplined Yogis; they may visit sacred shrines of pilgrimage and perform the six ceremonial rituals, over and over again, performing worship services and ritual bathing. Even so, if they have not embraced love for the Supreme Lord God, then they shall surely go to hell. ||5|| ਪਦਅਰਥ: ਮੁਖਾਗਰ = {ਮੁਖ ਅੱਗ੍ਰ} ਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ। ਬਿਚਰੇ = ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸਕੇ। ਤੀਰਥਿ = ਤੀਰਥ ਉਤੇ। ਨਾਇ = ਨਾ ਕੇ। ਖਟੁ = ਛੇ। ਸਰਪਰ = ਜ਼ਰੂਰ।੫। ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਚਾਰੇ ਵੇਦ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੂੰਹ-ਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ (ਉਚਾਰ ਕੇ) ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜੇ ਉਹ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਤਪੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਜੋਗੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ (ਹਰੇਕ) ਤੀਰਥ ਉਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜੇ ਉਹ (ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਉਤੇ) ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ) ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤੇ (ਮੰਨੇ-ਪਰਮੰਨੇ) ਛੇ (ਧਾਰਮਿਕ) ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਦੂਣੇ (ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕਰਮ ਨਿੱਤ) ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ; ਪਰ ਜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੫। ਰਾਜ ਮਿਲਕ ਸਿਕਦਾਰੀਆ ਰਸ ਭੋਗਣ ਬਿਸਥਾਰ ॥ ਬਾਗ ਸੁਹਾਵੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਲੈ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਅਫਾਰ ॥ ਰੰਗ ਤਮਾਸੇ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧੀ ਚਾਇ ਲਗਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਤਾ ਸਰਪ ਕੀ ਜੂਨਿ ਗਇਆ ॥੬॥ Rāj milak sikḏārī▫ā ras bẖogaṇ bisthār. Bāg suhāve sohṇe cẖalai hukam afār. Rang ṯamāse baho biḏẖī cẖā▫e lag rahi▫ā. Cẖiṯ na ā▫i▫o pārbarahm ṯā sarap kī jūn ga▫i▫ā. ||6|| You may possess empires, vast estates, authority over others, and the enjoyment of myriad of pleasures; you may have delightful and beautiful gardens, and issue unquestioned commands; you may have enjoyments and entertainments of all sorts and kinds, and continue to enjoy exciting pleasures - and yet, if you do not come to remember the Supreme Lord God, you shall be reincarnated as a snake. ||6|| ਮਿਲਕ = ਮਿਲਖ, ਜ਼ਮੀਨ। ਅਫਾਰ = ਆਫਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਦਾ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ਦਾ। ਚਾਇ = ਚਾ ਵਿਚ।੬। ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ (ਮੁਲਕਾਂ ਦੇ) ਰਾਜ ਮਿਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਣ, ਬੇਅੰਤ ਜ਼ਮੀਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ ਮਿਲੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜੇ (ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਸਰਦਾਰੀਆਂ ਬਣੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹੋਣ, ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੋਗ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਾਗ਼ ਹੋਣ, ਜੇ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਲਕੀਅਤ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ) ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ (ਹੋਏ) ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜੇ ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਚਾ-ਮਲਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਰੁੱਝਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਪਰ ਜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਪ ਦੀ ਜੂਨ ਵਿਚ ਗਿਆ ਸਮਝੋ।੬। ਬਹੁਤੁ ਧਨਾਢਿ ਅਚਾਰਵੰਤੁ ਸੋਭਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰੀਤਿ ॥ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਭਾਈਆ ਸਾਜਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਰੀਤਿ ॥ ਲਸਕਰ ਤਰਕਸਬੰਦ ਬੰਦ ਜੀਉ ਜੀਉ ਸਗਲੀ ਕੀਤ ॥ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਤਾ ਖੜਿ ਰਸਾਤਲਿ ਦੀਤ ॥੭॥ Bahuṯ ḏẖanādẖ acẖārvanṯ sobẖā nirmal rīṯ. Māṯ piṯā suṯ bẖā▫ī▫ā sājan sang parīṯ. Laskar ṯarkasbanḏ banḏ jī▫o jī▫o saglī kīṯ. Cẖiṯ na ā▫i▫o pārbarahm ṯā kẖaṛ rasāṯal ḏīṯ. ||7|| You may possess vast riches, maintain virtuous conduct, have a spotless reputation and observe religious customs; you may have the loving affections of mother, father, children, siblings and friends; you may have armies well-equipped with weapons, and all may salute you with respect; But still, if you do not come to remember the Supreme Lord God, then you shall be taken and consigned to the most hideous hell! ||7|| ਅਚਾਰਵੰਤੁ = ਚੰਗੀ ਰਹਿਣੀ = ਬਹਿਣੀ ਵਾਲਾ। ਸੁਤ = ਪੁੱਤਰ। ਤਰਕਸਬੰਦ ਲਸਕਰ = ਤਰਕਸ਼ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੋਧਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਸ਼ਕਰ। ਬੰਦ = ਬੰਦਨਾ। ਜੀਉ ਜੀਉ = ਜੀ ਜੀ! ਖੜਿ = ਲੈ ਜਾ ਕੇ। ਰਸਾਤਲਿ = ਰਸਾਤਲ ਵਿਚ, ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ।੭। ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬੜੇ ਧਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਚੰਗੀ ਰਹਿਣੀ-ਬਹਿਣੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਸੋਭਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਸੁਥਰੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਸੱਜਣਾਂ-ਮਿੱਤਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜੇ ਤਰਕਸ਼ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੋਧਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਸ਼ਕਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਲਾਮਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਣ, ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ 'ਜੀ ਜੀ' ਆਖਦੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਪਰ ਜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ (ਆਖ਼ਰ) ਲਿਜਾ ਕੇ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੭। ਕਾਇਆ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਛਿਦ੍ਰੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਾੜਾ ਸੋਗੁ ॥ ਮਿਰਤੁ ਨ ਆਵੀ ਚਿਤਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਭੋਗੈ ਭੋਗੁ ॥ ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਤੋਨੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਇ ਨ ਸੰਕ ਧਰਿਆ ॥ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਜਮਕੰਕਰ ਵਸਿ ਪਰਿਆ ॥੮॥ Kā▫i▫ā rog na cẖẖiḏar kicẖẖ nā kicẖẖ kāṛā sog. Miraṯ na āvī cẖiṯ ṯis ahinis bẖogai bẖog. Sabẖ kicẖẖ kīṯon āpṇā jī▫e na sank ḏẖari▫ā. Cẖiṯ na ā▫i▫o pārbarahm jamkankar vas pari▫ā. ||8|| You may have a body free of disease and deformity, and have no worries or grief at all; you may be unmindful of death, and night and day revel in pleasures; you may take everything as your own, and have no fear in your mind at all; but still, if you do not come to remember the Supreme Lord God, you shall fall under the power of the Messenger of Death. ||8|| ਕਾਇਆ = ਸਰੀਰ। ਛਿਦ੍ਰੁ = ਨੁਕਸ, ਛੇਕ, ਐਬ। ਕਾੜਾ = ਫ਼ਿਕਰ, ਚਿੰਤਾ। ਮਿਰਤੁ = {मृत्यु} ਮੌਤ। ਅਹਿ = ਦਿਨ। ਨਿਸਿ = ਰਾਤ। ਜੀਇ = ਜਿੰਦ ਵਿਚ, ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚ। ਸੰਕ = ਸ਼ੰਕਾ, ਝਾਕਾ। ਕੰਕਰ = ਕਿੰਕਰ, ਨੌਕਰ। ਵਸਿ = ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ।੮। ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਰੋਗ ਨਾਹ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਕੋਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਕਲਫ਼ਿ ਨਾਹ ਆਈ ਹੋਵੇ, ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਹ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਮੌਤ (ਦਾ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ) ਚੇਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜੇ ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਭੋਗ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਕਦੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ (ਆਪਣੀ ਮਲਕੀਅਤ ਬਾਰੇ) ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ੰਕਾ ਨਾਹ ਉਠਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਪਰ ਜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਅੰਤ ਜਮਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੮। ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਜਿਉ ਓਹੁ ਵਧਾਈਐ ਤਿਉ ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ॥ ਦੁਹਾ ਸਿਰਿਆ ਕਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਆਪਿ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਥਾਉ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੁਠੈ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਾ ਨਾਉ ॥੯॥੧॥੨੬॥ Kirpā kare jis pārbarahm hovai sāḏẖū sang. Saṯgur ṯuṯẖai pā▫i▫ā Nānak sacẖā nā▫o. ||9||1||26|| The Supreme Lord showers His Mercy, and we find the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. The more time we spend there, the more we come to love the Lord. The Lord is the Master of both worlds; there is no other place of rest. When the True Guru is pleased and satisfied, O Nanak, the True Name is obtained. ||9||1||26|| ਓਹੁ = ਉਹ (ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ)। ਰੰਗੁ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ। ਤੁਠੈ = ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ।੯। ਜਿਸ (ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਤ ਸੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਇਹ ਇਕ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਨਿਯਮ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ ਉਹ (ਸਤ ਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠਣਾ) ਵਧਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਿਉਂ ਤਿਉਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ (ਭੀ ਵਧਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ)। (ਪਰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ) ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੈ (ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਸਤੇ) ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਠਾ ਆਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।੧। ਸਭਨਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਤੂ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਸਾਹਾ ਸਭਿ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥ ਸਭਿ ਤੁਝ ਹੀ ਥਾਵਹੁ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਾ ਤੂ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਇਕ ਦਾਤਿ ॥੨॥ Sabẖnā vicẖ ṯū varaṯḏā sāhā sabẖ ṯujẖėh ḏẖi▫āvahi ḏin rāṯ. His Brahmin wife always pestered him as to why he did not go to Lord Krishna to alleviate his poverty. He was perplexed and pondered over how he could get re-introduced to Krishna, who could help him meet the Lord. He reached the town of Duaraka and stood before the main gate (of the palace of Krishna). Seeing him from a distance, Krishna, the Lord, bowed and leaving his throne came to Sudama. First he circumambulated around Sudama and then touching his feet he embraced him. Washing his feet he took that water and made Sudama sit on the throne. Then Krishna lovingly enquired about his welfare and talked about the time when they were together in the service of the guru (Sandipani). Krishna asked for the rice sent by Sudama's wife and after eating, came out to see off his friend Sudama. Though all the four boons (righteousness, wealth, fulfilment of desire and liberation) were given to Sudama by Krishna, Krishna's humbleness still made him feel totally helpless.(9) P.S.
