Vaheguru Jee Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Jee Kee Fateh..!! in response to several of nirbhau's earlier posts... to start of.. ur PREACHING us by telling us not to 'preach'... and secondly.. who said it's called PREACHING when u approach someone to talk to them about an issue that they have on their mind? and ur comin on here and disrespecting kathaa ?? (i dunno if thats what u intended, but thats the way many of us, including mysef, see it).. who are you to tell people 'you are not a Sikh'??? I think u need to go check up on ur info ... thirdly.. if u saw sumbody disrespecting ur father, Guru Jee or the Guru Granth Sahib Jee in any way (maybe it was somethin that you THOUGHT was disrespecting), then you would jes stand there and let them do it? you would jes watch as they did beadbi of ur Guru Jee..?? tha's bout the dumbest thing i've ever heard.. and from reading ur earlier posts.. tha's exactly what it seems you would do..if u feel sum1 is doing beadbi, you go talk to them and tell em how u feel.. nobody's sayin that u have to go up to them and punk them.. you talk to them in a respectful, peaceful manner.. and if they choose to listen and take care of the issue thats up to them, but i's your job to make sure that u at least make an attempt to resolve the situation... now tell me... does it make u LESS of a Sikh to confront sum1 about somethin that u think is disrespecting Guru Jee or does it make you LESS of a Sikh by NOT doin/sayin nethin bout it.. and jes lettin them disrespect? confronting people does NOT give u a black eye.. it's the way you approach them.. if u approach them in a way that they see as threatening or a way that mite make them think ur there to cause trouble, then tha's what ur gonna get.. and i also agree wit an earlier post by AK-47 veerji, that all that bleachin or makeup or hair removal stuff is an internal thing.. i's called the Battle of the Mind...and once again.. if they think i's okay.. tell em to go ask their Panj Pyaray (even if they aren't amritdhari)... .... during their journey to the island, they started to feel a little wierd. Although Inder Bhenji's pronthay were very delicious, they had some side effects. some Extreme side effects. GAS..!! They all started farting like crazy... japmans even ripped some wet ones at which point he was thankful he had taken his cell phone with him... he called Heera Singh and told him to bring him some clean ones for him and the others with him. Heera Singh arrived and japmans changed and was ready to get back to their journey. However on their journey.....

apologize to Heera Singh for yelling at him.. after that.. they all became incredible friends... being influenced the by superbowl... they decided to have a game of their own... they didn't have enuff players so they invited others to play this game with them such as _______......

Heera Singh then took HIS magic wand... and turned japmans into a baboon... however.. this was a spell that COULD NOT be reversed... now he would be harrier and bigger then ever... Heera Singh then took all the wands and broke them so nobody would be able to caste any more spells... mehtab feeling sorry for japmans, started to pet him and ______....

listening to this.. japmans monkey instincts take him over again and he starts to dance.. while dancing.... he converts back to a chimp... and his tail is longer then ever... watchin this mehtab _______.....

hair is hair.. no matter if i's on ur legs, arms, back, head or and other orfus of the body... it should NOT be removed... Guru Jee made us a certain way for a reason.. we shouldn't change that.. now i'm not sayin its EASY for bibian with facial hair to go out into the world.. i's actually extremely hard (this i hear from some that have facial hair)... and i give all the respects to them for being able to do that.. and there shouldn't be a 'half way' point for this.. ur either with it totally.. or ur not with it at all.. we can't sit here and say we're amritdhari and at the same time pluck ur eyebrows or wax ur legs.. for those that DO do that.. tell them to go to their panj pyaray and ask em about it.. see what they have to say.. if the gurls 'THINK' i's okay (which i highly doubt they do.. i personally believe they are jes MAKIN themselves think it is okay) then they shouldn't have a problem talkin to their panj pyaray... to me all this 'i think gurls should be able to remove hair' crap is all schtupid... but u know what.. tha's jes my opinion.. the bottom line is.. ask ur panj.. see what they have to say.. i dunno about u guyz, but i've read a fare amount of anti-taksali posts on that website... i dunno how much they have remaining or if there is any NOW.. but in the past.. i've read quite a bit..... however.. they do have a lot of inspirational/interesting stuff on there...

tha's basically the same thing as wearing boxers or underwear... the thing that makes kachera's unique and different is the 'nala'... there's a reason for the nala being there... otherwise guru jee wouldn't have made kachera a kakaar...

I read on the tapoban website once about this topic... and i've heard from others who take biology and all that stuff about this topic.... if i'm not mistaken excessive facial hair for women is due to a hormone inbalance... somethin that could end up being serious... i also read that for women who have a lot of facial hair, it could be a serious health problem, because if ur hormones are like really messed up, it could affect ur pregnancy/giving birth... i'm pretty sure there are ways to fix this i.e. goin to the doctor n talkin to him/her bout it... now some people would argue that 'its guru jee's kirpa' etc... i don't buy that.. if sum1 sliced u with a knife.. would u jes sit there and watch urself bleed to death or would try to heal/take care of urself..??? well.. regardless.. i'm pretty sure there's more the hormone stuff.. if in doubt.. ask ur doctor n stuff.. i'm sure there also mite be some side effects n what not.. but yah.. ask... p.s. To tell u all the truth.. i've text messaged in a gurdwara.. but like i's only for reasons like finding out where sum1 is while i'm inside because i don't wanna get up and look for them.. or like telling sum1 that we're leaving so i don't have to walk up to the bibian side to tell them (i personally don't like causing a scene like that; standing in the middle of the darbar hall looking for sum1)... and honestly.. i have text messaged a couple of times b4 jes udhaee.. for example.. sum1 asks me a question.. i answer.. or i ask sum1 a question.. (it could even be work/school/family related)... there's even been a couple of times i've text'd jes randomly.. and now lookin back.. i guess it WAS pretty stupid of me to be text'ing jes udhaee... at the time.. i didn't really think about it... but mistakes happen so we can learn from them... anyhow.. like others have said... u should approach the people that are doing it and jes tell them what u think bout what they doing... but do it in a respectful manner because u don't want them to think that u think ur better then them or nothing.. but for the time that ur IN the kirtan .. even if u notice it.. push it aside until after the kirtan is finished.. that way u can jes enjoy the kirtan and then deal bout it afterwards... and you can't say that they're all flirting... especially if u don't know them.. who knows they could be talkin to their sister or couzin or something... nowadays if a singh is talkin to a bibi then it's AUTOMATICALLY considered as flirting... personally i talk to bibian all the time .. but i see them all as my sisters and nothing more, nothing less... i's alwayz best to ask them first or talk to them first.. approach them and give ur 2 cents... personally this is the way i see it.. if we think sum1 or some people are disrespecting the Siri Guru Granth Sahib or Guru Jee in any way... approach them the first chance u get and we give em our opinion.. if we don't do/say nethin, then we haven't done our part... I mean if you DID approach/talk to them then that would be a diff story... Vaheguru Jee Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Jee Kee Fateh..!! yess... the wedding was very nice... first time I think many of us had seen a Gursikh wedding.. they both looked amazing.... about the pics.. can sum1 put them up on a website or give it to the waheguroo network admin so they can upload them to the site..? (if in fact both bhenji and veerji don't mind) ... the kirtan program on the thursday prior to the wedding at Amrit Parkash Gurdwara arranged by Bhupinder Singh was also very nice... all the kirtanee's did amazing ... a lot of sangat turned out as well..I think most of us really enjoyed the program.. newhoo... i'll be back every December tha's for sure :wub: ... I really enjoyed myself that whole week... Vaheguru Jee Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Jee Kee Fateh..!!

wow.. i jes checked out the site... seems very intense and for real... ne word on if they will be bringing/starting classes in north america..? preferably toronto... :wub: ... i would really love to check it out..!!

U can even go to ur local bank and make donations.. i know this 'cause i work at Scotiabank... u can make a donation at any of the branches.. i'm not completely sure about other banks (i.e. td, cibc, bmo) but i'm pretty sure they have a donations system set up .. so if nebody goin to the mall or anywhere where there's a bank ... make sure to drop some funds into the relief fund account.. I completely agree with both of you in the sense that it is OUR choice to go to these forums and what not... and it IS an amazing way for people, especially youth, to learn about Sikhi, its teachings, history etc... But just like looking back at a few main discussion we had on this site... no matter how innocent or simple the question might be... it usually turns into some sort of conflict.. and in a sense.. it ruins it for the rest of us.... like that Veer who said he was kinda backin away from Sikhi and said it wasn't his path etc... when he put up a post just askin questions... a couple of them turned into conflicts... i.e. 'sikhi the only way'... Personally.. I agree in the sense that these forums do more GOOD then BAD.. i agree with Aman that maybe moderation should be a little more strict... there are very few posts that i HAVE seen deleted/edited.. but anywayz... this thread wasn't meant to stir up ne controversy... i jes hope from now on there isn't ne more nonsense and unnecessary bikkering... I do so because this is the way that many people including myself are feeling... it seems these dayz forums are not much more then a place for people to come argue... i know there are several threads that are actually related to sikhi, and threads where people come to get advice/questions answered... but one way or another, many of these threads turn into clashes... debate is a good thing.. to a certain POINT... but arguing about EVERY LITTLE thing involved with Sikhi or even things involved in everyday life for that matter is something that's destroying us... some people mite have a different view on this.. and tha's kool.. everybody's entitled to their own opinion... but like one of the earlier posts a couple of months ago.. i think it was by japmans ... which was basically kinda stating what i am.. but that one went more in depth.. anyhow... the post will explain the rest... enjoy..!! Its like Guru Jee himself is telling u what u can/can't do... Guru Jee's Hukam is told through the Boloved Panj Pyaray... In many amrit sanchars.. i know that 5 Amritdhari Singhs are chosen to be the Panj Pyaray, and they are chosen from the Sangat.. you may very well speak to them about ur issues and situation.. then like i think sum1 else pointed out.. they would work wit it and see what solution they can come up with.. I have tied my dari a few times... but i's not even that long yet... what also seems to work in the place of gel is lotion.. rub ur hands wit lotion and jes like go down ur dari with ur hands... kinda moistens it up.. then go through it with a dari brush.. and well the rest... do what JSS said.. some people don't even need pins ... so jes deal wit what works for you Vaheguru Jee Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Jee Kee Fateh..!!

Vaheguru Jee Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Jee Kee Fateh..!! personally i don't think tying ur beard is WRONG... i jes wouldn't do it myself.. but obviously sometimes the situation arises where it would be best to tie ur dari...for example a singh working in a mechanic shop or working around mechanical/electrical equipment... keeping ur beard untied can be very dangerous and in some fields of work mite get in the way.. now for ur situation.. yes kids are dirty.. especially gora ones :wub: hehehe jokes jokes.. but seriously.. if tha's the situation..then i think it would be okay to tie ur dari.... especially if ur at risk of gettin paint and other thingz stuck in ur dari... on top of that .. how embarassing would it be to walk around wit paint stuck in ur beard??? ur dari should be kept clean as well.. so tying it up would probably make sense in ur situation...i know many gursikhs that tie they're beard and they're still amazing gursikhs...to me i think i's okay... but at the same time... keep it untied whenever possible.. then others see a GURSIKH.. u know what i mean? (not to say that tying ur dari would make u NOT look like a gursikh.. but i hope u get what i mean)... tha's like our 'mane'..however u spell it... like a lion that has his 'mane' around his neck... personally i think it looks better if one has his beard OUT and in the open.. hope i helped.. I haven't heard of too many people who say its MANDATORY to be sarbloh bibeki.. i know there are many Gursikhs out there who are just bibeki... but science has proven that being sarbloh bibeki is GOOD for you... the iron that u eat out of goes into ur body.. which is good for you.. (not TOO much though)... i'm sure there's plenty more to it then that.. there are many reasons as why one SHOULD be sarbloh bibeki... i just don't know them.. :T: would nebody care to enlighten me..??? We call it Vaheguru, in Islam, Allah etc... lemme point u guyz back to the VERY FIRST thing u will see from our 11th Guru.. EK OANKAR.... now i wan't u guyz to really think bout that.. GOD IS ONE.... but don't stop there.. LOOK DEEPER.. everybody these dayz takes translations from shabads as JUST wht they translate.. we all have to look DEEPER.. in almost every shabad and every tuk there is a DEEPER meaning to what i's saying.. and there's small words that we might mistake.. i.e. Hinduism for Hindus...etc... like i said in one'a my first posts... EVERY RELIGION leads to God.... Guru... Allah... in Sikhi.. we believe our path is the FASTEST and best for SIKHS... i encourage people to listen to kathha's by parminder singh on gurmatstudies.com.... in one'a them (i forget which one) he says just that... that every religion has a path to god... we believe ours is the most straight path.... now to say that Sikhi is the ONLY path to Guru Jee is LUDICROUS..!! this type of thing would REALLY offend some people.. and probably about 90% of the world.. how would u feel if followers of Islam were coming up to you and sayin ISLAM is the only way and followers of SIKHI will NOT get to God.. that Islam is the only path to Guru Jee..... THINK about what u people are saying... if u read Gurbani carefully.. Our Guru's did not criticize the religions themselves.. they criticized their followers and the rituals their followers created... now tell me.. is there ANY difference between God, Allah or Vaheguru ???
