  1. The singhs shud remain with singhs and kaurs with kaurs. However, nuthing wrong with having some necessary chit chat with fellow sisters. Plus some kaurs and singhs have very high avastha and their interaction with each other is just for gurmat reasons. Yes, I really dislike the culture of urban sikhs where u have boys and girls doing hahaa heehee, making each other learn kirtan, using cleverness to trap boys into marrying their girls.... that culture has ruined the anakh of sikhi.... death to this culture. Sikhi is not fragile, and does not require a fragile train of thought like you have above.
  2. The song is about vadaye sahibzadaye, and the "hooligans" are doing something called cheering..just and FYI so much negativity on this forum
  3. Man its responses liek this that make me do a face plant. if sikhisim was such a weak religion where looking good was a bad thing, then this religion has some critical flaws. Or trying to avoid alcohol in a non-consuming manner. Like <banned word filter activated>, do you guys realize alcohol is a chemical molecule, and avoidable in about 50% of the things you eat.
  4. Quick question, why just amritdharis? Why not Keshadaris?
  5. Veer the unavoidable is the unavoidable, Sikhi is a practicle religion, we must weigh the positives along with the negatives. If you know what i'm saying?
  6. I wrote the above post around 40 days back and everyone attacked me for being irrational, crazy.. The last 40 days have been disastrous and we have 'once in a lifetime' financial crisis... Many of my juniors from IIT(IIT's are one of the best institute in Asia) have been laid off. One of my friends who worked in Mumbai in finance and earned 15 lakh p.a was fired yesterday and is under depression... The lives of people have been RUINED in the last 40 days.... young brother take a deep breath, relax, play some nintendo wii.
  7. Duh, Drinking is wrong for Sikhs, Guru sahib has said so. It changes who you are, and what you are. it is an intoxicant that takes you away from being who u are. But for a non-sikh its not a problem, and to the people generlizing whats wrong and right for others...please don't its not your business.
  8. correct cause man = woman...no social differenc or order, that "rehitnama" totally ignores the concept of equality.
  9. How old are you veer ji? You say Sikh bhujangis should not goto college? what the stuff are you on? Without education you are a nobody. First of all, gurmantar and gurbani is the real education. Having said that, please dont mistake me to be someone who is totally against the modern education. The world that we used to live in, the modern education helped people to get many jobs. It was all happening within the divine play of God..But due to the energy crisis and peak oil, college degrees are going to become worthless.. Its not going to get u the jobs it used to... Secondly, most of people are ready to go into DEBT to get a college degree, that might be a suicide the way things are going... Baki, whatever u feel like u do, whatever I am saying is coming true and will come true as well.... I feel its a waste of time debating about things... If u find the articles I posted useful, take it otherwise ignore it... xHarinder singh, I truley feel that you need to speak to an elder (not nessecarly a sikh) about your feelings. Peak oil is but a figment of someone's imagination at this point. I am a practicing Geophysicist In Training. I studied oil exploration for 5 years, and have been practicing for one year. I will tell you that Peak-Oil if even possible is no were near realization. This debt <banned word filter activated> your talking about is irrelevant, why? Because your going to die. credit is meant to be used. No Gurban is education and true, but equally important is your education in the material world (if you want to call it that). Veer please, i think you should talk to someone about your feelings they are to extreme, one cannot predict the socio-economic structure of the world. You must understand, resources which were once to expensive to exploit and now becoming econimcal to exploint due to rising prices(this dip is temp) comodoties will go up and so will our pay, its called inflation, we may suffer temporary recession no one has denied that but to say this si the collapse of a civilization, you are WRONG. I feel that you are scaring the youngers on this bored with all this doomsday hokie pokie, go watch some cartoons have a hot-chocolate and just relax.

  11. I have a question? Is man created equal? Sikh, Hindu, christian.......
  12. I'm glad you're not the only one that feels the same. It seems to me that we're a minority on this website. I've seen countless posts on this forum that make we wonder. I've seen people in real life change into this 'over-religious' Sikh mentality. I know of someone that was mona who you would never have thought of end up keeping his hair. I don't know what made him change but all of a sudden he stopped listening to music, believed dancing was 'manmat' (where did he learn that from?) etc. I really do wonder what happens at these 'Sikh gatherings' such as Sikh camps and so on. What is wrong with Bhangra? It's part of our culture, its tradition. Why does every Sikh youth I see today want Khalistan? Do they really understand it? Hell it won't even make a difference to the majority of them. I just don't understand what is happening to these kids, it seems they're being brainwashed. I also feel a divide when I see these guys. It feels like if you're like them, then, you are a great person, but if not then you're looked down upon. Its the same on this website. It's nice to see youth like the one I described keep his hair etc but not when they 'ban' everything out of a normal lifestyle. I'm probably gonna get slated for this but I think I needed to get this off my chest. No offence attended and all that Completely agree veer/pan, But just incase our views contort each others, Khalistan is the ONLY solution. It just mus'nt be run by taliban-sikhs who think that enforcing "sikhi" on people is the way, or the one's who think sikhs can't dance. I just don't understand how someone can say a sikh cannot dance? If its that easy to be harmfull to your self then there is a huge flaw within the design. Guru sahib made a design that is flawless, that says enjoy life but remember naam, and your guru, and do seva. I can gaurantee you that there are more chartible people then there are "sikhs". How many times do you see these youths (who are super sikhs) working at the local food kitchen? NEVER, I go twice a week, and i never see antoher sikh, excpet from the one uncle that comes for dinner everday. /rant
  13. I see where you guys are coming from and agree. But imagine in khalistan, would drinking and bhangra be banned? I'm jsut worried with the youth's mentality that they must interfere with others business that Khalistan is gonna be just like Afghanistan...rules and laws that infringe upon freedom. Now i'm still all for it, but feel that a huge mentality shift is needed in our "sikh" youth away from this total wrong way of thinking. If someone drinks it is not your business, and bhangra? what the <banned word filter activated> is wrong with that?
  14. How old are you veer ji? You say Sikh bhujangis should not goto college? what the stuff are you on? Without education you are a nobody.
  15. All politicians in India are gunday... thackrey's are just more open about their gundaapann while others use lies and deception to hide their gundapann.. Sikhs need to have PRACTICAL POLITICAL relation with thackreys and shud support them in this struggle against illegal migrants..... Sikhs shud not trust thackereys, just give them HALLA SHERRI in their attempt to preserve their culture and language.... Whole of Maharashtra will become sikhs in the near future. mark my words and execute me if it does not happen... Brother, everybody will become sikh in the near future. mark my words and execute me if it does not happen... common yaar, sounds just like the taliban. This is a non missionary religion, which has taken on missionary like approach recently
  16. yes veer ji that is langar, feeding the people with empty stomachs. Be it in Afghanistan, africa, or your own city. Langar is for feeding the needy. Just because food is created and eaten at a gurdwara does not make it seva or langar. seva is serving those who need help, albeit drug addicts or just the starving, doing their service is doing gods service.
  17. Just want to make a clarification. From the Sikh point of view, the conflict was a Indo-Sikh conflict. The problem was not with the people but the state. Where-as from India's point of view it was a Hindu-Sikh conflict. Good books: Galiant Soldier AR Darshi Soft-Target all i think of
  18. Why you never question a drunk I was shopping at the local supermarket where I selected: A half-gallon of 2% milk, A carton of eggs, A quart of orange juice, A head of romaine lettuce, A 2 lb. can of coffee, and A 1 lb. package of bacon. As I was unloading my items on the conveyor belt to check out, a drunk standing behind me watched as I placed the items in front of the cashier. While the cashier was ringing up the purchases, the drunk calmly stated, "You must be single." I was a bit startled by this proclamation, but I was intrigued by the derelict's intuition, since I was indeed single. I looked at the six items on the belt and saw nothing particularly unusual about my selections that could have tipped off the drunk to my marital status. Curiosity getting the better of me, I said: "Well, you know what, you're absolutely right. But how on earth did you know that?" The drunk replied, "Cause you're ugly."
