  1. im more scared of not keeping my amrit once its done than doing it. Ive seen many people who take it cus they feel they r ready and after a couple of years they slowly start missing nitnem, getting up too late etc. and eventually end up back where they started and i really hate this. I dont want to be one of those people...! i feel that i will do it when Guru Ji calls for my head and i feel that time is coming very soon, it makes me sad to see the state of our sikhi today, corrupt commitees, beadbi, false sects, our youth being manipulated by the older generation politicians who are all talk but no action and use brave young khalsa to help settle personal scores, etc etc.... ! Having said that, i have the utmost respect for any person that can live according to our Gurus Hukam and be a true sikh, :WW:
  2. hmmmm so what ure saying is that they are like a distraction from the true path to enlightenment and liberation. Heavy
  3. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6290868.stm this made me feel so sad, all Gurudawara should help these poor women and interevene if there is abuse going on within our community. I think we need to speak up for our sisters if this is happening.
  4. Shaheed Bhai Gurcharan Singh ji Khalsa was head of the ISYF in the 80's and was from walsall. From what i know he was born in Kenya, raised in England and attained shaheedi in India. I used to be from walsall and i know he was the singh that started the first Gurmat Camps there and also the first nagar keertans between all the walsall gurudawara. He went to India for the first time and after visiting Harmandir Sahib and Hazoor sahib he was killed on a train by government forces and his body was thrown off somewhere near hazoor sahib while his wife and kids were still on the train. I heard he went to india with money and equipment for the families of the shaheeds and for the singhs that were still fighting. In walsall he was and still is very highly regarded and respected cus he was a singh that did what he said and he only bowed before God. will try and get some more info and pics to upload.
  5. dont worry about it, its a load of B0!!0%5. He playing games cus 90% of us go to or hav been to uni so thats not hard to guess, u told him ure name begins with an A so Amritpal is a common name but you told him ure name, hes just mailshotting asian houses to make a quick buck. If i were u id just bin it and forget about it. If you look in papers like des pardes you find loads of these ads in them. foregt about these fearmongers and concentrate on the guru ji and follow his words and you got nothing to worry about. Now if he was wearing a ruck sack and smoke was coming from his ears id be worried...!
  6. its a bought democracy out there. the more you pump the villagers with booze and drugs the more votes you get. i think that unitl our brothers and sisters in the punjab become more educated these politicians will still be able to buy themselves into power. i think it is changing, but very slowly.
  7. another let down by SGPC and Badal government and his puppet on a string Vedanti
  8. Haweli resteraunt in Jallandhar, pure veggie and have entertainment at night
  9. Unless you have a car and will be driving, i would suggest catching a train. you will probably need to get a train from heathrow to london then another train to cambridge, let me know if you need timetables and cost etc. or if you're driving, get the M25 then the M11 motorway which will take you straight into Cambridge. 10. yeah, like lets hav a sikh version of the taleban and ban all music, cultural activities, dress up as ninjas so no one can look at us, have our own sikh only schools, segregate ourselves from all the other communities we live in, call everyone a racist if we dont get our own way, apply for government grants to build the biggest gurudawaras under the guise of they will be for the whole community and all will be welcome and then fight in them between ourselves and ban people we dont like from coming to them and pay for the police to come with metal detectors on the days we change the commitees so we dont get unwanted people attending... etc. etc. jus kiddin..! crazy fools WHY YOU CALLING CRAZY??? AND WHO YOU CALLING A FOOL?????? IF YOU GOT NO RESPECT FOR OPINIONS OF YOUR OWN BROTHERS AND SISTERS THEN KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT. YOU ARE TAKING THE MICKY OUT OF SOMEONE BY CALLING THEM A TALEBAN BUT YET YOURSELF YOU ARE JUDGING THEM AND STEREOTYPING THEM. LOOK AT YOURSELVES IN THE MIRROR. THE LAST MELA I WENT TO HAD ALCOHOL AND MEAT STANDS. THE COMMITTEE SAID "WHAT CAN WE DO?" BUT HEY AT LEAST THEY AINT 'CRAZY FOOLS'. you wanna take a chill pill, as i said only joking but if you wanna have a serious debate maybe u should start by trying to understand the irony of how we are starting to sound like other fundamental groups, such as the taleban, who have no tolerance of other faiths, cultures and traditions and wish to impose their way of life on anything that moves. Instead of trying to ban everything why cant we try make the best out of a bad situation and educate people in what they are doing wrong and why. the mele provide a great opportunity to spread our faith and educate people. If we continue to keep ourselves to ourselves and only talk to each other and the people in our own social comfort zones, i dont think sikhi will flourish as its meant to. Think of our Guru Nanak Dev Ji who was renowned for his travels. I do agree that the gurudawara and the comittees have a lot more to do when organising these events and they should take responsibility for the stalls, stands and food outlets that are allowed to attend, or they should stay out of them all together and make it clear that this is not a religous event. and if the commitee that organised the mela that you went to that had alcohol and meat stands then i say they are CRAZY FOOLS!!!!! so cut your jibber jabber. I SEE WHAT YOU SAYING BRO BUT I WAS SPEAKING TO A SINGH IN BIRMINGHAM ABOUT THIS LAST YEAR AND HE SAID ITS A GOOD CHANCE TO PROMOTE SIKHI AND THEN WE JUST SAW WHAT HAPPEND AT THE MELA THERE. I THINK IT IS JUST THE ATMOSPHERE OF THESE MELAS THAT CANT BE CHANGED. MORE NEGATIVES THAN POSITIVES. COMMITTEES JUST WANT THERE OWN 'BALE BALE' AND DONT CARE ABOUT SIKHI REALLY. Yes, i agree, but i also think that this years troubles at handsworth were an exception to the rule as it was because of committees and other parties giving it loads and fighting between themselves. Unfortunatley a lot of youth get used on both sides and end up paying the price. but thats another story, would want anyone falling asleep on me. back to the mele, personally i think that if they are better planned, they can work. An example being that this years handsworth mele, before the trouble had some really good points. Example, everyone that wanted lungar had to go through the main sach khand tent and do mutha tek before they could get to the langar hall. Absolutely Fabulous idea, the que was massive and everyone paid there respects to guru ji before feeding their faces. peace out, may you all live long and prosper. wjkk wjkf.

  15. I know it looks bad, and it is. But ive been to the gurudawara, its in a village called Kala Sangha just outside shota kapurthula. The place where the booze is given out is outside the gurudawara premises. About 100 metres away from the guru's house there is a small brick built building with a dome which is the jugga of some next dude. This is where the booze is distributed from, it has nothing to do with the gurudawara. Sadly people go there and give cases of booze in the name of this next dude as people think he is a heavy heavy gangster sant and their wishes will come true. the sevadar at the jugga then put some booze in a big bata and the rest they give out to the amli who wait outside with their own cups and plates waiting for the next hit. At the end of the day they also give out whatevers in the bata to the amlis as well. The sevadar there told me that at least one person a week dies of alcohol poisoning and if the relatives dont claim the body within a few days they do the sanskar themselves in a field next to the jugga. Its really sad! if you think about it, the same thing happens here in the uk, we have a gurudawara with a hall next door where people get mashed and eat meat every weekend! only difference is that in these cases, the gurudawara actually own the hall. In india at this place, the jugga is next to the gurus house but is not associted to it in any other way. bhul chuk maaf wjkk wjkf
  16. i think he needs to talk to someone he can look up to. maybe someone whos been there done that. if u like, i can put him in touch with some lads i know who have a bit of a reutation around the midlands. they are good lads, they do mess about and are renowned for fighting but they dont do drugs and are keshdhari. maybe he can associate with these lads as they are still into there sikhi and maybe they can help satisfy his thirst for being a bad boy but without getting him in too much trouble.
  17. I can assure you that im not a muslim or trying to convert anyone from sikhi. The title does say convert to islam but you will see the sentance ends in a question mark which suggests this is a question. If i were making a statement i would have ended the sentance with an exclamation mark. Yes i have used the word 'aimed' because from the flier and letter you can clearly see that it is aimed at women. It says it in black and white! In terms of working for the islamic community, you couldnt be more wrong. Me and my family have been working hard to stop these radical islamic societies from preaching their evil at uni's. We have been to the awareness meetings at the local Guru Ghar recently, including the last one at wednesfield gurudawara (which was on sunday if you didnt know). I have personally come to blows with some of these fanatics (it was a while ago when i was at uni) but am not afraid to stand up for whats right, which is my Gurus word. I have travelled to southall and to ek niwas (on more than one occasion) to do what i can to help stop beadbi. I went to the funerals at sedgley street gurudawara of the young nau jawaans that died at the lake district. So please be assured that im not a p4k1 and trying to convert anyone. The reason for my post was to make people aware of the tactics that these people are using to get people into their clutches before they start converting. I would like to know why this is aimed only at women and not everyone, if its all above board. Also from the flier you can see it says there will be people there who have recently converted to islam. Why? whats that got to do with womens equality in islam. Again, this is my personal opinion, but i do think that this event is to sweeten up the people that attend on the day with an 'aim' of converting them to islam. I agree that both of the topics i have posted are controversial but they are also important. The first one was about beadbi at sunderland gurudawara and this one is about converting to islam. Both topics were to make our community aware of whats going on around us. whether we do anything about it is up to us individually. If you are still not convinced that im not a mullar in disguise then i would be happy to meet you, or anyone else, at any local gurudawara in the west mids cus thats where im from. Bhul chuk maaf karnee
  18. Im not asking anyone to convert to islam, far from it. You misunderstood the title, im asking why anyone would convert. I agree that there is a lot of controversy around the topic, but why are the muslims restricting it to only women attending? I have posted the flier to make people aware of whats going on. Conversions are a hot topic at the moment and I personally believe that muslims are intentionally causing controversy at it brings them into the limelight. Theres no such thing as bad publicity...!
  19. wjkk wjkf Birmingham Central Mosque are having an open day to, allegedly, educate people about Islam. Please see attached flier. Sounds a bit dodgey as its aimed only at women. flier_mosqueopenday.doc mosqueopendayletter.doc
  20. wjkkwjkf tell me this is not at the gurdwara or on the premises..
