that is tru!! but sometimes singing the shabads in the raags given can make it "come from your heart"!! like raag basant......i have a wikid shabad done by Bhai Gurdial Singh Ji Rasia (and sons): man kehaa bisaariou raam naam || O my mind, how can you forget the Lord's Name? which is sang in raag basant!! but it would not sound the same if it was sung in like raag chander kauns!! u see what im trying to say!! bhul chuk maaf

lol!! i know sachkhand a place where very rare souls go, but even the other khands..... Dharam Khand, Gian Khand, Saram Khand, Karam Khand!! do you still have to pass through the Yugs even in these Khands?? also, are the Khands a metaphor for he state of mind a person is in aswell as a place??

Its a facet in Indian classical Music that ragas have certain time that they should be played. But in Sikhi terms, because you're dealing with spirituality, you cant limit emotion to timing. I ask you this: Do you have a certain time of the day when youre sad? A certain time when youre happy? No. Because what you feel cannot be tied down to a certain hour. Clear example within Guru Granth Sahib: According to Indian Classical Music and present day granthis (Im not dissing them, they teach what theyve learned), Asa Raag should be sung in the morning. Hence Asa Ki // is sung only during Amrit Vela. If that is the case, and were supposed to follow timings, then why does Asa appear in Rehras Sahib (an evening bani) ? Why does it appear in Kirtan Sohila (a night bani) ? What you feel is what you feel. yep it is tru!! many of the youth (not me) do say that it is not as.......lets say "bouncy" as akj-fied kirtan!! but if u do follow raag uv gta follow it to the extreme!! like used timings for such raags....e.g. Raag Aasaa betwwen 3-6 hours in the morning.. and so on!!! also, it very hard to find kirtanyis hu teach raag kirtan in certain areas uk!! a few names are Prof. Surinder Singh, Bhai Harjinder Singh Lallie, and Bhai Sarwan Singh (my Taya Ji :nihungsmile: )!!
