  1. I have never understood why anyone would want to be with a muslim guy. Nasty.
  2. Where has it been written that men specifically should not rid themselves of facial hair? It hasn’t because rehit is not gender specific. Butch like men? Do you go out much? We have told you that almost all women have some facial hair; it is not butch like men. You are talking about a condition called PCOS which causes women to grow excessive hair. There are medical treatments for women in those conditions to treat the root cause of hormonal imbalance. But then, that is an individual decision and no one should have to make any change to themselves to make others happy. If you cannot accept the natural facial hair a woman grows, I don’t believe you are actually attracted to women. He did not ask for men’s head either. He asked for a head and only men stood up. Guru Sahib had no objection to women wielding a sword. Mai Bhago is a prime example. In that sense, then men should also remove their hair. And there is also a time now when men shave their beard. Should singhs also do the same to fit into societies conditioned view of beauty? The reality is that no one actually knows how to find a partner which is why most fail in their marriage. If people understood beauty comes from the qualities of a person, infidelity would not be common. But it is due to people’s weakness to beauty that they lose love for their partner and begin to look at other women. And why is beauty only important for a woman? Is it so that you can be sexually attracted to women? Perhaps you should take a look at yourself in the mirror. If women are happy with themselves, then you do not need to be concerned for us. Truth is that you are not a suitable partner for any of Guru Gobind Singh Jee’s daughters; you are far too manipulative, controlling, retarded, narrow-minded and blind. I suggest you look elsewhere; there are plenty of non-sikh women that fit into your conditioned view of beauty and many would be blind enough to fall for a truly ugly person like yourself.
  3. Then you should listen to Gurbani and not hindu beliefs.
  4. Aww of course I will Kira *glomp* But seriously, we can all learn a lot from you :D
  5. I believe Guru Sahib is the same but different to Vaheguru, and existed before everyone. However, I do not believe Guru Sahib and Vaheguru are restricted to sikhs. Everyone is destined for Saachkhand, and since Guru Sahib and Vaheguru are beyond time they are always with everyone but their love is more accessible to someone who has pure qualities e.g. compassion, innocence, humility and etc.
  6. English people generally have a positive attitude towards sikhs and they do not confuse us for muslims.
  7. Vaheguru made us into physical beings with a soul. If physical attraction is the foundation of any relationship then people would not be failing miserably in holding their marriage together. And why stop with women, men should also remove any facial or bodily hair to fit into societies conditioned view of beauty. Our culture and way of thinking is very superficial. Guru Sahib says true sikhs are rare. You are still going on the concept on difference in physical appearance when women grow some facial hair and bodily hair as part of their natural physical appearance. It is not always equivalent to the amount of hair growth on a man but they still grow hair and our body is different regardless of our hair growth (I shouldn’t need to explain this). If hair defined our gender identify, I am sure Vaheguru would have never made it possible for women to grow any hair apart from the hair on the head. Our hair is natural and not something to be deemed ugly or unfeminine or to feel ashamed of. Truthfully, to find an attraction to the soul, you do not even need to get to know the person; a truly beautiful person radiates good qualities through their aura. If someone cannot see this it is because they are hollow. People’s attraction to others is often a reflection of their own character.
  8. I'm surprised to hear this from a kaur. Almost every woman naturally has a small amount of facial hair. A woman with a full grown beard like a man wasn’t very common in the past because people's lifestyle was more healthy and active, so there will be no evidence to find through pictures. But even if a woman was to grow an excessive amount of facial hair due to a condition, do you believe a man should suddenly love the woman less and feel repulsed to even be near her? It would be a complete mockery on himself as he himself has a full grown beard. Guru Sahib has given us non-gender specific rehit to follow, and valued and respected women for who they are. Guru Sahib never moulded women to suit men’s sexual desire- that is one way you can tell Sikhi is not a man-made religion. You tell me would Guru Sahib instruct a woman to strip away her femininity by removing her natural facial hair just for a man’s sexual desire, while men were advised to keep their hair? No because it would be hypocritical and Guru Sahib was charismatic, and had a mind beyond any human beings limited and conditional understanding. Your view on attraction is very small and superficial. Attraction is deeper than being attracted to flesh. Real attraction comes from loving the characteristics of the person, their soul. With your thought, you could be attracted to a lifeless person or a "good-looking" person who has a hideous soul. Believe it or not, there are people who find attraction to a person on much more meaningful characteristics in a person. I for one do not even understand how people become physically attracted to the next good-looking person they see; I find it very cheap and low-minded. When a singh marries a singhni with facial hair, it is because he found her to be truly beautiful inside and out due to her strong characteristics radiating from her.
  9. There are no excuses, I value personality over beauty. Sorry if that is too hard for you to comprehend but you really need to get over the fact that not everyone is like you. Didn't I already say singhs have married women with facial hair.
  10. LOOOOL!!!! Well if I was a singh and had an interest in marriage, I would say yes if she had an innocent, kind and sweet personality. I would regard that person to be the most beautiful.
  11. You are forgetting that not everyone is as shallow as you and that looks are very insignificant to those people. There have been singhs that have willingly married women with facial hair but you seem to be overlooking that. Your view will never change sikhi, a true sikh will always follow rehit even if it does not satisfy you. You should not try to mould women to suit your needs for sexual desire. Please do not worry about what women do with their body or faces but worry about yourself. Regarding your view on western concepts, I see punjabi culture just as bad. Ever wondered why most marriages, whether punjabi or western, are a complete failure or end in divorce? That is because people run after superficial things e.g. money or appearances. When finding a partner, you should be finding a friend. You can only have a strong bond with friend for a life time. A sensible person will find importance in personality, rather than appearances. If you can't follow that mind-set, that’s alright because as you said, you are a weak man.
  12. There are five in the morning: Japji Sahib Jaap Sahib Tav-Prasad Savaiye Benti Chaupai Anand Sahib
  13. jinee naam dhhiaaeiaa geae masakath ghaal || Those who have meditated on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and departed after having worked by the sweat of their brows & kutt kutt man kasavattee laavai || Pounding and beating his mind, he puts it to the test; so koottan mukath bahu paavai ||1|| such a pimp attains total liberation. ||1|| Every action we take may be rooted from houmei but it is what allows us to make an effort to become closer to Vaheguru. According to your mentality, we shouldn’t make an effort in sikhi or education because it can all lead us to become egotistical. In houmei, there is a cure. houmai dheeragh rog hai dhaaroo bhee eis maahi || Ego is a chronic disease, but it contains its own cure as well.
  14. Facial hair is natural for women. Why would Guru Sahib tell us to remove our natural facial hair? For aesthetic reasons?
  15. That is fine. But I was letting Guruvah know that you can find better sangat in higher job positions because from my experience, in terms of western culture, I do find people’s maturity level is better.
  16. You are taking what I said out of proportion. I actually take it very seriously to not judge people on materialistic things like occupation, looks and etc. I believe that is the reason why people lack genuine compassion, so I would never do that.
  17. Yes I work but my personal life should not concern you. It is matter of training your mind to be able to engage in 24/7 naam abhiyaas, it just becomes an unconscious part of the body like breathing. From my experience, working in a higher position, you actually get better sangat because the people are more mature and civilised. I also find that your life becomes easier when working in higher positions. Nevertheless, a sikh should not need to worry too much because Guru Sahib always takes care of the sikh and ensures their sikhi never deteriorates.
  18. You could make an account and ask the member directly
  19. There is a member within this thread called 'weareallone' that responded to you and he did not say he is from India.
  20. Becoming educated and working hard is a discipline, it is an admirable quality in any human being. You are seeing education and work in the perspective of status but I am viewing it in the way of sikhs being distinguished, hard-working and contributive. Vaheguru and Guru Sahib do admire these traits in a sikh because it is a quality of Vaheguru to help the world and be intellectual. The Gurbani tuks you provided are very broad and can be applied in different ways but the meaning behind the tuks is do naam while living in the world. Guru Gobind Singh Jee encouraged sikhs to learn about other religions to gain knowledge. It is important to be knowledgable in the world so that we can challenge and represent our Guru in the highest form we possibly can- spiritually and worldly. If you really believe living a worldly life is meaningless, Guru Sahib would not have encouraged us to live in the world but to instead run away from all worldly affairs including marriage and kids because truthfully those are the biggest worldly affairs anyone can get themselves into due to the heavy responsibility. You are saying that becoming a doctor makes you egotistical and greedy. This is a state of mind. This sounds similar to when Muslims tell women to wear a veil to help men control their lust. The focus should be on the mind and to conquer the mind while living in the world, not to be fearful and run away. Technology has played a big part in improving our lifestyle, even sikhi-related. Technology has brought the sangat together - you using the forum, going to the gurdwara via car or using Sikhi related apps on your phone, are all thanks to people who have worked hard in these professions. If your child became ill, you would call a doctor to help your child become better. If it wasn’t for people going into these career paths, the human existence would probably be extinct. We Sikhs are living like a slave nation, running around in other people’s country without a home and relying on others to do the work for us and then we say non-sikhi lives are pointless. It is similar to the lazy culture the west has adopted and because of that, in England, they needed to bring in an embarrassing amount of foreigners to fill the jobs they were incapable of doing. Sikhs should never be in that embarrassing position.
  21. The Gurus were beyond intelligence and encouraged us to be educated. Of course sikhs can focus on their sikhi while working; you're assuming that all our time would be spent on studying and working. Doctors, lawyers, engineers are all people that are needed in the world, you shouldn't be using your electronic devices or see your doctor when you are ill if you think all these occupations are pointless. Again, if sikhs were to have our own land, how would we contribute to the society? Would we be able to contribute if we were all truck drivers? You are relying on other people in the world when we sikhs should be ahead of everyone, and they instead should be coming to us.
  22. My opinion is that I think a sikh should be ahead of everyone spiritually and worldly. I don't think sikhs should choose to be unintelligent in the world. If sikhs were to have their own land, we would all be living like cave men in your sense. You can use your intelligence to help the world and give a better lifestyle to future sikhs. Think very carefully about what decision you make, you could regret it as it wouldn't be as easy to change your career direction if you do decide to become a truck driver.
