  1. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Never forget that you are right. And when you stand up for something you believe in, you become like the Guru, and God himself will guide you. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  2. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! It's a sad and true fact of the PUNJABI community. I suppose I should be proud to say that someone who is a true sikh would NEVER partake in such horrible behaviour. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  3. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Maybe his english isn't as clear as ours is, but I think the intent was really obvious. So lets not try to argue over semantics, OK? vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  4. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! My humble opinion # 1: Explain how a bunch of inanimate, incapable, cells, which work purely on "reflex" can somehow make you. Think to move your arm. It moves, doesn't it? how? What told the FIRST NEURON to initiate the cascade to move your ARM? Thinking of stuff like that guarentees that a God must exist My humble opinion #2: Science has tried to explain everything using a basic set of formulae. THe entire field of physics is trying (and so far doing pretty good) at unifying forces, energy, mass, etc. into a fundamental equation and theory. eg: Magnetism and electricity were different forces, until it was theorized that both exist as a result of electromagnetic energy (and equations were brought which could explain both phenomena). In addition, mass and energy are the same. Now imagine that someday, scientists evolve a single equation, one that satifies all known phenomena. That equation has a constant. Who defined that constant? If the value was 2.4... why could it not have been 2.5? 2.6? 4? 39? With each change in the "constant", a new equilibrium would be established... but who chose that one? Answer: GOD. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  5. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Great post! Amrit does not limit you from anything one would want to do anyway... it just makes sure that you stay on Waheguru's path!!! vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  6. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! No offense, Khalistani, but you have no right to judge anyone or say if waheguru has blessed someone, healed them, or joined with them! You are not God, and obviously then you don't how how God works. On top of that, how do you know how one with their "dasam duar" opened looks? That is something that you cannot tell from a picture, and since you have never met this individual, you actually have NO IDEA what she is about, what she does, or who she is. Don't judge others without the facts. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  7. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Yeah! Way to Go!!!! :D  vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  8. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! I have never had the honor to meet any of them, but I have seen them around. They are much more devoted than me without a doubt!! People who take the effort to convert into Sikhi do if for all the right reasons, and Waheguru will see that. About the yoga and stuff... I think that Guruji explained that yoga and stuff is wrong because there is no faith? behind it. As well, many of the mystic yogis do it for money, or they lock themselves away from society which Guruji forbided. I think the Sikhs that use it do it to focus the mind, to meditate, like mool mantar... which means that such techniques are used as a means to a greater end... Waheguru!! vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  9. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! I'm probably one of the odd ones out on this issue... but I think we need to learn to handle ourselves and cooperate with others before we even think about our own country!! vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  10. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! I am surprised this was ever asked!! Langar is open to everyone, all the time. I mean, Guruji even told us to take care of our enemies!! (Sri Guru Gobind Singh told Bhai Kanahyia Jee to give water and aid to all people on the battlefield) vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  11. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Way to go JSIngh! vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  12. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Don't call it an incomplete guru. Guru is the KNOWLEDGE BEHIND the words, NOT the words themselves. Don't forget, when you bow before the SGGS, you do not bow before a book. You bow before the knowledge of the 10 gurus past. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  13. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! :D @ vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  14. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! hehe... actually I think it is kinda funny. It's a little incorrect (eg: omar... arranged marrages...) but I'm a fan of the Simpsons, so yeah vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  15. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! I think this may fall into the same sorta trap as above. I mean, obviously choosing based on Kaam isn't good... but if you choose on personality it still doesn't limit it to be guy-girl, if you know what I mean. I have seen many shows above where they have shown homosexuality to be a genetic phenomenon. Actually, in one introductory university biology classes I was in, we used Drosophila (fruit flies) that existed at two temperatures 25 and 30 degrees celcius for a period of time before being brought back to room temperature. The deal is that one protein in these flies are actually temperature sensitive... and activate at 30 degrees. The result was that the 25 degree ones were normal, and the 30 degree flies starting mating like crazy (hetero and homo). Just wierd... but it shows that it is genetic. vwih gurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  16. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Well American companies or not... still not right to put God on your feet (or thong!!) vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  17. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Hmm... just something I noticed... What do you all think? vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  18. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Wow! Absolutely crazy!!! vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  19. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! That info is really good to know!! Thanks! I'll prob carry one with me next time I fly, just incase vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  20. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Thank you Deep SIngh, and sorry if I wrote anything wrong. I understand what you said, and now that I think about it, you are totally right! The SGGS does not speak of individual actions, but rather as the mentality that is behind each action. That is why rituals are forbidded, because rituals have no mentality!!! That said, I'm starting to wonder. If in a heterosexual union (guy-girl), kaam must play a major role too (cause on a basic level, attraction between man and woman thinking animalistically, is based on s.e.x. So... in a way, that is also what may bring two women or two men together as well... so why do we condone one but reject the other? (I am not implying anything here - personally I don't agree with homosexuality, but I think that my question is a good one) vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  21. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! I'm kinda on the edge of this issue. While I agree that the government has really no buisness regulating if two guys wanna be together, I don't think Sikhi condones that kind of thing at all. OK, now I'm confused now too... maybe there is a reason that ours is the only religion whose holy book does not even mention homosexuality? (ie: ignore the issue?) :T: vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  22. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! That's really interesting how Christianity spread (by making it a national religon). We will never get that kind of boost because a fundamental tenet of Sikhi is to not force others to follow Sikhi if they don't want to. The Early romans could do that. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  23. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! I think it is important to look into context of everything that is said in the Guru Granth Sahib!! Every time that I know of when Guru Granth sahib speaks against a religion, it is against a PRACTICE in the religion, one that is done WITHOUT REASON and/or where the REASON HAS BEEN FORGOTTEN (ie: a ritual). Guru sahib speaks out against rituals, not the people who truly follow a religion with their heart. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  24. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Nice!! Those people are doing true sayva!! vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  25. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Good point. I mean, I think I know more about Jesus than I know about some of my Gurus vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
