NCERT will include Gujarat riots, Sikh carnage, Ayodhya dispute http://www.hindustantimes.com/news/181_1769726,0006.htm The 2002 Gujarat riots, the Ayodhya dispute and the 1984 Sikh carnage will be a part of the class XII curriculum for Political Science as the NCERT has decided to include in its texts events that influenced the political process in the country since Independence. However, the textbook writers will steer clear of any controversy and give information from government sources. The change in the syllabus comes in the wake of the implementation of the National Curriculum Framework, which suggests that the textbooks should connect knowledge to real life situations. "You cannot teach Political Science to students sidestepping the major events, which had significant influence on society and polity, no matter whether controversial or not," said Prof Yogendra Yadav, a member of the panel for preparation of Political Science textbooks. "So we are covering all the major happenings including Gujarat riots, Ayodhya incident, Emergency and many other controversies," he said. The topics would give the established facts taken from government sources which cannot be disputed by anybody, he said adding that the text would also refrain from going into full details of the incidents. The chapter on Gujarat riots will deal with an overview of the incident and the largescale killing of "people of a particular community", he said. "The topic will also give a human rights view and a counterview on the incident," Yadav said, adding the textbook will be introduced in April 2007.

Metropolitan Magistrate Amit Bansal asked the IO, Sub Inspector Kamal Singh of Sultanpuri police station, to explain the reasons of his failure to file the status report before the court on October 16, the next date of hearing. The court, which had issued a show cause notice to the Sub Inspector on May 23, sought to know why did he not appear before it despite repeated reminders. Kabal Singh, who lost his son Manohar Singh, daughter Nimesh Kaur and mother Usha Kaur in 1984 anti-Sikh riots, had filed a complaint in the court on November 11, 2005 under Section 156 of the Criminal Procedure Code seeking direction to the police to register a case and investigate it. He filed the complaint after the police refused to register an FIR despite his running from pillar to post for the same. According to his complaint, a mob attacked his house in Sultanpuri on November 1, 1984 following the assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi a day before. He, however, managed to escape to Rajasthan and returned after ten days only to find that his entire property was looted and his son, daughter and mother were missing. The police had on November 29, 2005 sought more time to clarify the facts, as all records of 1984 riots were lying with the Riot Cell and the same were later sent to Nanavati Commission which inquired into the riots.

thre r saints and holy ppl... otherwise guru sahibs wud have never mentioned tht we shld seek the sanctuary of saints... anywys... the thing is ... we r no one to tell others who is a sant and who is not... a sant will be defined in the court of LORD... so all we have to do.. is to sing the praises of LORD and do simran along with the ppl who do the same... IF THEY R IMPOSTERS..THEY R BEING WATCHED BY THE MESSENGER OF DEATH.. pyaare jio... if someone comes into sikhi.. due to someone else.. then its gud for both of them... everyone says during guru's times...no one was called sant.. remember.. in today's time..its sooooooo hard to find gursikhs.. which have same qualities as the puratan sikhs... if someone is holy... u may notice..he wud not himself put a sant in his name... but its the ppl... who put it.... how much tht person can say "no dont call me sant"... ppl listen to lectures and kathas... but majority of them still does the same daily routines... SO IN EFFECT... THRE R SANTS ETC.. WE R NO ONE TO LABEL THEM.. JUST REMAIN IN THE COMPANY IN WHICH GOD'S PRAISES R SUNG... GOD WILL LET U KNO WHO IS A SANT OR NOT !!!! a very nice topic after a loong time , though and plzzz forgive me of my mistakes.. .. i m not in a position to debate with u all learned ppl!!
