  1. the idea of the pic is not to idolise him , but to remember him thorugh a cruicial pahase in our history and difficult times, and the spirit that he imbibed in many Sikhs. People who do not know about Sant Ji will see his pictuire and ask spomeone, " who is this man" and then they will find out about him. you cant put a speech on the wall can you? sikh youth uk , having his pic on the wall will not tranfsorm us into anything special. however it will help us remember his kurbani. this is nothing new in any religion, nevermind sikhi.
  2. a photo of Sant Jarnail Singh was present at Akal Takht when i went there in 1995. look at the sellout sikhs in the congress and the hindustani pithoos get their knickers in a twist. If they want it down , then they should take down the photos of those other terrorists mahatma, indra and rajiv and nehru first. bloody hypocrites.
  3. Fellow God-seekers, in this weeks des pardes the sikh forum international have arranged some dinner thing to hounour Sikhs of merit for services for various whatever. Th thing that stuck in my mind was the wine bottles onthe tables. A few months ago I noticed in a similiar adfvert by the Forum that again there was wine bottles on the tables. Cant remember whatthat programme was about. I phoned up the bloke who's number apperaed inthe paper, and he tried to bs me in sayingn that they were soft drinks. I told him clearly they are wine bottles, dont try to bs me. Then he said we have to have these things present for hospitalty etc . I said that as a Sikh organistaion , or an org. that represents Sikhs , you should not give the impression that Sikhs are allowed to use alcohol. however its seems they are still doing so. has any1 else seen this and what are your views on this?
  4. panthic weakly seem to be creating a stir over nothing like it has done with Sant Ranjit Singh Dhandrianwala. Giani Ji is NO fool. If he was there it was for soemthing that we probbaly couldnt understand. Giani Ji is a straightforward-talking no-nonsense person. His katha which there is a lot of in www.gurmatveechar.com is amazing. listen to it and dont get sucked into the vacous bilge that panthic weakly spout. chatanga.
  5. yeh Bhamver Fateh Singh has apoint. make your voices heard. talk to ordinary members of the snagat about whats going. the more attention that you focus on this manmat the better. also tell that Akal Takht has gven a sandeshto all gurdwaras that they cannot use sangat money for manmat. failing that , resort to violence. show em you mean business.
  6. One thing that Ive been thinking about for a long time is taking parchaar to a non-panjabi audience. I got this idea from seeing others do it in the local town and city centres. Other faith groups are talking about thier religion in public places and giving out leaflets etc. I feel that we should do the same. Set up a table where people are walking past and have leaflets for them to take. We are so late for this , others have been doing it for years and years. If there is anybody in this forum who has the sharda to do sumthing like this then pm me. It duznt have to be a regular thing. If it was done every saturday etc then it would be brill, but otherwise on Vasiakhi , bandi shor, june 84 , Guru Nanaks parkash purab etc, these are just off the top of my head. People from wolves especially, get your act together. Places in local area that i think we deffo need to do soemthing like this : wolves city centre west brom centre smethwick high st soho rd dudley rd wolves wednesfield centre willenhall center walsall town centre.
  7. may I say that I came to sikhi thru the persuasion and sacrifice of a sant (jarnail singh of Bhindra) , otherwise i would know even less about sikhi than i do now. There are many sants who have brought the Guru's teachings to hundreds of thousands. i read that Sant Ishar Singh of Rara gave amrit to over 3 lakh people. Even Sant Ranjit Singh of Dhadrian has persuaded thousands of people to give up manmat and take gurmat. I could do this in 100 lifetimes what he has done. chatanga
  8. anyone from wolves uni sikh soc plz pm me. i wanna chat wiv u.

  12. both are equyally suitable, however the sarangi is much harder to learn than dilruba. do what i have and get both. i pratcice first on dilruba and once ive got a little feel of the raag, ive try it on sarangi. I would find it rally hard to go straight onto sarangi. The sarangi is the best tho!!!
  13. Pracheen Panth Parkash by ratan singh Bhangu is available in enlgish now.

  15. taksal is not a joke and never has been. there may be jokers in it, but the taksal is no joke. same as even tho the vedanti is a joke, but the Akal Takht is no joke. plz dont post drivel like that vampire. I beg you. chatanga

  18. Panjab is no longer the granary of India. During the Khalistan movement the indian govt made massive invetsments in other states to provide the same level o wheat and rice that Panjab used to , most likely so that they would not have to depend on the Sikhs for wheat. In 1980 Panjab provided something like 78 % of the countrys wheat. If i can remember coreectly in 2000, it had dropped to about 45 %. Basically the govt knew that this dependency o the Panjab for wheat , made them vulnerable. Waters in Panjab are seriously low. In my village some tubewells have began to throw up earth, with a bore of upto 200 feet. Now people are starting to bore to about double that. One thing i wanna share wiv everyone is a thought i had about the water in Panjab going low is that, could one of the causes be flushing toilets? May sound stupid , but now everyone has flushing toilets, which use a lot of water, rather than going to the fields wiv a jug of water (which I prefered) . Do a shee in the field and no water is used. Do a shee in the toilet and you have to flush it, cos of smell and germs etc. Very little water goes from Sutlej to Pakistan.
  19. chater singh and jiwan singh shop is less than 50 metres awat from Darbar Sahib, how on erath could they have evaded the hukamnama to present themselves at Akal Takht since 2001? its about time they got a slap tho. me never go there anyway, always go the taksal shop or singh bros to get books and stuff. i recommend the same to evryone.
  20. The Bhagat Dhanna sakhi focuses more on Bhagat Jee worshipping a stone, whereas it should focus more on his bhagati of God , in the current beleief of the times that God was a stone. Remember that a brahman gave him a worthless stone which he claimed was God, in return for a cow. Bhagat Jee in his innocence made this exchange, becasue he wanted darshan and God knowing that Bhagat Jee was really depserate for his Darshan, gave it to him.
  21. We have a scholar here in kam1825. however if you want to know the full meaning of this tuk from many angles, then i will refer you to www.gurmatveechar.com where you can look up Giani Thakur Singh under the katha section. I have been listening to katha f Japji recently and he give a clear meaning of what this means. It s the only way you will really understand the message. heres my 2 cents worth : the Siddhs ask Guru Nanak : "who is your Guru" Guru Ji says : Gur isar = Guru of Shiva Gur Gorakh =Guru of vishnu Gur Brahma = guru of Brahma Parbati = and parbati Ma = and Lakhsmi ee = and saraswati Thier Guru is my Guru ie God.
