  1. Vaheguru ji ka khalsa Vaheguru ji ki fateh Dear sangat ji, Im soon to get married but have a problem with the langar. The gurdwara say that they cannot have responsibility to make it (and my family obviously will be busy so we cant do it). I want a traditional wedding - I dont want chairs and tables and food from outside. I am looking for a sikh amritdhari catering group (or anyone you know) that can make the langar (that we can do bhog to) and then give out to the sangat as gur ka langar.. We will obviously pay for their service. Thank you very much Vaheguru ji ka khalsa Vaheguru ji ki fateh
  2. If it was me and I didnt definately consume any of the meat then I would do a big ardas to maharaj for forgiveness and for help in keeping my rehet more disciplined in future and do some extra paath every day for a period of time (your own choice how long etc). However if I had eaten the meat - I would most definately have to go pesh because even tho it was a mistake, it still has big negative effects on us which I couldnt bear the weight of. Hope this helped. Fateh
  3. I havent got anything against kaurageous whatsoever, but dont you think that little speach is alot of pump (bigging yourselves up)? I think you need to remember the word nimrata.
  4. Refering to the above in bold; yes, that only happens once you've had amrit and declared who your guru is... hence only then thru your guru's kirpa do these objects become kakkar. chalo its personal opinion.
  5. I think Tarrandeep Kaur bibi ji needs to re-read the topic and not blow it out of proportion. The singh is just saying that once we have recieved amrit and bowed down to our sri guru granth sahib ji as our eternal guru and master - only then does hair = kesh, knife =kirpan, comb = kanga, shorts = kashera, bangle = kara. Once they have guru's grace and you are the guru's sikh that when the transition occurs to panj kakkar. Simple.
  6. So if your blood sister changes her name to Kaur, does that mean you can marry her? Im not trying to be bad but if you go with this logic years from now, you wouldnt know who your blood sisters or brothers are. Guru Ji also said not to be proud of your jaat, does that mean rejecting it all together? No. Guru Ji also says not to be proud of your wealth, does that mean we have to throw it away? No. Everything that is mines is actually his. http://www.sikhnet.com/sikhnet/music.nsf/S...7e2f21!Open Ek Onkar Satnam Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Rupz ji, obviously i do not mean that, i mean that every person out there is supposed to be respected as a brother, father, mother or sister, or even son or daughter, that is how we should see everyone, the point i am trying to make is i am the son of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and i will adopt his surname, so i have adopted the surname of singh, if you prefer to be a sidhu or bittu that is up to you but my father is the guru and i am only part of his family, whatever you can do in reason to practice sikhi you should do i.e. change name, give dasvandh, do seva etc. The guru has given us common sense, the points you have mentioned can easily be dealt with using common sense and pyar. Do you think your fathers, and your surname should be the same or different? who do you see as your father, i see Guru Gobind Singh as mine. Stay in high sprits Gurfateh Ji "I have no name" Thanks for the inspiration to drop my surname, I havent thought to do it until now. Let all those others fools babble their rubbish because they will make all sorts of excuses and try clever tricks in order to hold on to their 'surnames' which in the end mean nothing at all. You can try to tell 'some' people on this forum about seeing all women as your own sisters but they see it as incest- as if all women on this earth were created by the One for your pickings for marriage. Get real guys and go read some bani - maybe vaheguru maharaaj will do some kirpa on you fools.
  7. I think its a personal thing. I dont focus on something but imagine being in the presence of guru granth sahib ji or a place which gives me complete shanti.. usually harmandar sahib, I imagine sitting there on the parkarmar at the hours of amritvela-it really helps me to focus, as it would if I were really there. I dont think its as cut and dry as people make out, simran is remembrance - how do you remember him (its a personal thing between you and yourself).
  8. ANOTHER VIRGIN POST????????!!!!!!!!!!!!! MODS CAN YOU PLEASE RESTRICT THESE, IM SO SICK OF THEM. IF THEY WANT TO KNOW ABT SUCH THINGS - THEY CAN READ THE MANY PREVIOUS POSTS ON THIS KALJUGI TOPIC.
  9. I find this statement from you so ridiculous and ironic; you speak like you know what gurmat is.
  10. Vaheguru ji ka khalsaVaheguru ji ki fateh, So SO glad that you posted this, its a huge refreshing change from the normal/same old posts that people continuely post on this forum. Thanks I enjoyed reading it.
  11. I am so SICK of reading about marriage and who-does-what on this forum. How is this helping your sikhi, why sit there trying to analyse other people's lives and action, i.e. where they find their spouse from when YOU HAVE YOUR OWN LIFE TO ANALYSE. Dont sit there and say 'i think ----- is the problem' LOOK AT YOURSELF. You people are so shallow always discussing the same old.

Are we meant to be caring about whether we will get rishta's or not? Look, I've said my bit, my opinion is that majority of the people on this forum are still asleep, posting the same old issues. THERE ARE NO LOOP HOLES HERE IM AFRAID. I was and am still shocked by some 'amritdhari' responses to problems. THIS LIFE IS A DREAM, DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING TO BE REAL. Thats all I'm saying on this matter now.

She isn't meant to be his sister.. she has to be respected like he would respect his own sister or mother. If evryone is a sister who does he marry ?? If evryone is not his sister then why is this girl meant to be his sister?? Forgive me, I thought we were meant to see people our age as brothers/sisters and elders like our mothers/fathers. Of course go round looking at girls like their not your sisters because one day you must get married. The most absurd thing I've ever heard. WHY MUST EVERYONE KEEP THINKING ABOUT MARRIAGE? Do you know if you will be here that long? If you get a rishta thats COME TO YOU then fine, obviously you need to think of that person as a like minded individual to have sangat with for the rest of your days (wife/husband) but untill then why you not think of a girl as your sister (I forgot cos one day you got to get married-pathetic excuse).

How can she be gur gobind singh ji's daughter and give hints to a singh that she 'likes' him. Dont be silly. She shouldnt be 'liking' him in the first place. To the topic starter - dont be bothered if she 'likes' you, stay away from her, shes meant to be your sister.
  15. Maybe thats because no one knows, hence the 2 replies.
  16. It doesnt sound wrong to me, fine it sounds abit fresh but why cant you hear the gurbani? Its all in the mind of the listener... I find that funny coming from you. I dont have a problem with kirtan not being done in raag, but i believe its a huge step below kirtan thats done in raag. If you have a problem with that then you have a problem with Guru Sahibs bani. Fateh. Im sorry, was that aimed at me? What problem do I supposedly have with Guru Sahib's bani and I have never favoured any style of keertan over another. Its all keertan to me.

    Helllp Mee!

I think you do need to go pesh. Otherwise let it be on your head when you die. Full stop.

  20. Vaheguru ji ka khalsa Vaheguru ji ki fateh, I personally think it should stay in bham, why ruin a good thing? Moving it up and down the country might just wreck what good unity you already have and its also giving some people involved a boost that they are 'big' enough to move location. Stick to where it is I say and keep the big ideas small. If most the sangat is in the midlands then surely it makes sense to do the program in the majority.
  21. Yep, this person has posted this before. I recall giving him advice. A message to everyone- any advice you give will most likely fall on deaf ears, if you want to help him then do ardas for him to find the true path.
  22. Vaheguru ji ka khalsa Vaheguru ji ki fateh, Im so sick of the daily bickering that goes on this forum. We dont have a long list of do's and dont's in sikhi unlike other dharams. We follow the love in our heart and listen to our conscience. Our conscience speaks to us when we feel we have done something which has gona against guru's hukum. Everyone will have different opinions and different understandings of whats right and wrong depending where they are in their path. Sometimes you can see something black and white when really its so colourful, not everything is as simple as it seems. Instead of be-littling other people's opinions how about we share our thoughts and agree to disagree. Have your own discipline installed in yourself instead of someone elses, we need to take into account that alot of people on this forum are walking early or way ahead on the path and so views on select things will be varied, also take into account this is the internet and not everyone will be walking the same path at all. Can we please remember who we are trying to represent before we start arguing? Vaheguru ji ka khalsa Vaheguru ji ki fateh.
