Communists!

i think we all know that communism is pretty big in the punjab.

communists are generally atheists.

but is it true with the punjabi commies that although many of them do go

to the gurdwara regularly, they are hostile to sikhi?

if so what was their role post-84 regarding the militancy.

can anyone shed any light on this because alot of people in my family

are communists.

A lot of the kharkoos were ex-communists. Punjabi communists are usually religious people who read Gurbani and go to Gurudwara.

I don't know about that Veerji but as far as I know only a few of the Kharkoos were ex-communists. Although during the 1970's most of the active Sikh students were involved in communist agitations. It was only when Bhai Amrik Singh became President of the All India Sikh Students Federation in early 1980's that he was able to wean most of the Sikh youth away from the communists. Since then the communists were always hostile to the Sikh cause
