ਰਾਮ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਇ ਕੈ ਕਬੀਰਾ ਗਾਂਠਿ ਨ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ੍ਹ ॥

raam padaarath paa-ay kai kabeeraa gaaNth na kholH

The Treasure of the Lord is obtained, O Kabeer, but do not undo its knot.

ਨਹੀ ਪਟਣੁ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਰਖੂ ਨਹੀ ਗਾਹਕੁ ਨਹੀ ਮੋਲੁ ॥੨੩॥

nahee patan nahee paarkhoo nahee gaahak nahee mol

There is no market to sell it, no appraiser, no customer, and no price.

"padaarath" = treasure

"paa-ay" = obtain

"gaant" = knot

"khol" = open

"patan" = market

"paarkhoo" = evaluator

"gaahak" = customer

"mol" = price

I found this Salok quite hard to understand :D . If anyone has any ideas about it then I'd really like to hear them.

We don't realise how lucky we are to have found Gursikhi; the path ahead of us isn't easy to follow, but at least we know it's there. We know that we have a golden chance to fall in love with Maharaj and maybe even get a glimpse of Him, yet so often we doubt it and throw our opportunity away. In the same way we tie knots on things like shoelaces to keep them secure, we need to fully utilise our chance to remember Maharaj and keep the treasure of His Name intact within us.

No-one can try to buy such a treasure and it's pointless trying to sell it. No-one can truly appreciate the feeling a Gursikh gets from being in love with Maharaj and having Him in mind constantly. It's like a man with no tongue eating a sweet. It's not really going to work. Duality and Sikhi don't gel either. Sikhi can be implemented in every second of every day, but it won't work fully if we feel like we want the best of both worlds - if we really want to be Sikhs of Maharaj, we sacrifice our heads. Our whole heads, not just bits of it.

That would be messy. And if we try it, it will mess us up :D .
