"Its not hard to only wear a turban to the Gurdwara, I can see the people scared to wear a pagri on an everyday basis, but once a week for a few hours wont hurt anyone(if it does then you are not a Sikh)"

i think those that are scared to wear a pagri on a daily basis do not respect or understand sikhi as much as they should. i know many of us get so much pride from walking around in a dastaar or pagri so why dont others? i think thats because we understand sikhi and have so much pride and knowledge of it.

make sure every child understands and knows how much it took for sikhs to keep the right of having a dastaar and we would have a much different sikh society.

patka/patki are funny, they look silly in my view maharaj says we should wear a dastar regardless if u believe in keski or not

our roop is khalsa and khalsa only wears a dastar, alot of ppl who wear patka get mistaken for muslims, or rastafairen's

Guru Sahib says

mY gur imil auc dumwlVw ]

mai gur mil ouch dhumaalarraa ||

I met with the Guru, and I have tied a tall, plumed turban.

nwpwk pwku kir hdUir hdIsw swbq sUriq dsqwr isrw ]12]

naapaak paak kar hadhoor hadheesaa saabath soorath dhasathaar siraa ||12||

Purify what is impure, and let the Lord's Presence be your religious tradition. Let your total awareness be the turban on your head. ||12||

Make unpure (mind) pure. It is the true adherence to the Muslim Law (Hadees).

(One can obtain this objective) by keeping one's body unviolated and by always

wearing a turban on head

The wearing of a Dastar enables Gursikhs to show their distinctiveness of

being a Khalsa Gursikh. The importance of this Khalsa distinctiveness has

been clearly emphasized by the Tenth Guru for the Khalsa as a community, both

men and women.

this just looks silly a grown man with a patka
