Total bandh was observed in the city today in protest against the incident of forcing an Amritdhari Sikh to drink liquor following the bus he was driving hit a motor cycle parked outside a shop near Old Hospital on here last evening.

Meanwhile, the police has registered an FIR against four persons - Anil, Arun, Vickey and Amish - under Sections 323, 295, 506, 298 and 341 of IPC after recording the statement of the victim, Veer Singh. Subsequently, Anil and Arun were arrested but later released on bail, said the Kapurthala SSP, Mr Rajiv Ahir, while talking to The Tribune.

In the meantime, most of the shops in all main bazaars remained closed. The protesters made rounds of the bazaars forcing shopkeepers to close their shops.

According to unconfirmed reports, stones were also pelted by the mob on some of the open shops in different markets. However, the SSP claimed that no such incident happened anywhere in the town.

Several groups of agitated persons gathered in front of the bus stand after making rounds of the main bazaars and blocked the traffic. Buses could not ply from the bus stand, creating problems for passengers.

Elaborate security arrangements were made to avoid any untoward incident.

Mr Ahir said the situation remained in control as the police remained in close touch with leaders of the protesters, who also cooperated with it.

In the meantime, Mr Raghubir Singh, condemned the incident of forcing the baptised Sikh to drink liquor.

^ You reap what you sow.

Punjab and Delhi, the states with the largest Sikh populations, they choose to forget Sikhi, and become "Moderinized". Let these people die of violence, AIDS, drugs, prostitution, and female infoeticide. And once Punjab and Delhi becomes the deathbeds of India, then they will know what Sikhi is.

If your a male in Punjab you die of AIDS, VIOLENCE, OR DRUGS

If your a female, you ain't even born to begin with.

^^^^ Don't you think we should be helping them ?? They have taken a wrong path, they can be educated and brought back to the path of SIKHI. Someone has to take the initiative.

^ There have been so many chances to improve the Sikhi there, but each and everyone of them are bought by the Indian government, or become attached to maya.

Fact is believe it or not, Punjab and Delhi are to become to deathbeds of India. If it's not the Indian government trying to destroy ALL minorities, it's our own Sikhs turning their back on Sikhi. There was an article on here on SS where it was called Youth questioning their beliefs because of attack on Sikh guy. And one guy in Amritsar is like "I choose to not wear the turban because it is too heavy" what kinda a stupid excuse is that.

donkeys will always be donkeys it's all good.

like I said Punjab and Delhi Sikhs will either die from Drugs, AIDS, Violence, or Female Infoeticide!!

^^^ Na you are wrong here, there are mahapurkhs in Punjab who have been working hard and they have been successful. Its pretty much the same as western countries. Overhere if we come across gursikhs and keep their company that doesn't mean SIKHI is flourishing here. No doubt many people have changed here in the west but when i go to my university, i dont see many turbans there either. I know of many Sikhs here who are busy clubbin, drinking, doing drugs and waht not? AIDS is not a problem here because of the awareness. I don't have to tell anyone what goes here.

But i can guarantee you one thing, it is easy to educate the people in Punjab.

^ Simple answer to your comment is, people don't want to wear turbans because they don't have Guru Gobind Singh's Baksish.

Remember one thing Guru Gobind Singh said:

JAB LAG KHALSA RAHE NIARA, TAP TAK TEJ TAHU MA SARA,

JAB EH KAHE BIPRAN KI REET, MA NA KARU IN KI PARTEET.

----

Guru Gobind Singh only takes care of those people who keep the Sikhi Saroop, once they abondon that they will never flourish, and be happy. Believe it or not, its' up to you my friend. :TH:

PS. I will be waiting for the day Punjab and Delhi are loaded with Chari Kalaa Singh again! d_oh.gif

    • Umm, that's totally irrational, bro. There are plenty of prakash-dara Singhs in Punjab (less than we'd like, but still plenty). No one cares that you are sabat soorat. It isn't 1986. You can walk around in chola, kurta-pajama, or jeans. Whatever. If you want the look @dallysingh101 is referring to, just go into a cheap clothing shop (not a Western-style mall) and buy some shirts for 250 rupees or a track suit for 2000 rupees. You'll get the cheap stuff made in some sweatshop in Bombay.
    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
