Actually Guru Ji's message is to not become no king or anything, there is only 1 king and that's god.

We have to become lowest of the lower, a beggar, a dog so that humbleness can come into our heart and ego and selfish pride to go away.

This is why "Guru Arjan Dev Ji said give up any hopes of life, become the dust of the feet of all, then you may come to me"

Someone asked Guru Amar Das Ji why do you have so long beard? in reply guru ji tells him "to clear your shoes"

Guru nanak says, one whos mind is dust of all recognises the name of the lord in each and every being.

so basically, Gurus are so humble, they are calling themselves nothing, lowest of the low etc and us fools operating under 5 evils claiming to be singh is king.

this singh is king should have actually been singh is a dog or singh is lowest of the low, that would be true singh, that would definate kill the ego, but younger generation is wearing tops/hoodeds etc bigging up sikhi and looking low upon others, they claiming to be lions or smething LOL!

they are doing the opposite!

anyways, i would call myself the lowliest dog here!

i read somewhere it says "in kalyug, majority do not have the understanding, it is true, despite us have one of the best holy scripture ever written we still continue to wander in maya and not really do what guru is asking us to do"

so many rare of them actually do put it into practise and then there are the ones who actually go on to become khalsa ( a pure heart where God himself resides)

but other than them, we just tend to wear badge of sikhi, wear dresses but just be empty inside!
