Jakara 2009 | Remember 1984 | Reflect. Respond. React.

June 18th-21st, 2009 | Fresno, CA

Despite the fact that many wish to forget the events that befell and have shaped the Sikh Nation, it is vital for the ‘next generation of Sikhs’ to be aware of our past and understand how it shapes our present and our future. While twenty-five years have passed since the attack on our sacred home, much has changed and much has remained the same. For the Nishan Sahib of our Nation to remain tall, it is for us to study our history, remember the past, and continue the fight for justice.

This year at Jakara, we will Remember 1984 and celebrate those Kaurs and Singhs that made the ultimate sacrifice for our Qaum.

Join us in Fresno as we Remember 1984: Reflect. Respond. React.

Full of rubbish camps with anti-sikh elements involved, supporting them..

Are there gonna be any 18+ nights after these events?? (I seen videos and pictures and they are disgusting un-sikh lifestyle)..

I will not be as harsh as the guy above, but what is the goal of this movement?

Thanks,

kuthaman

Sorry if i sounded harsh in my above post and in this reply... but after years of them holding non-gurmat based camps is getting too much in California. Their style is: Its ok to be mona and you are accepted in panth. Its okay to eat meat, party like wild with booze (picture spring break in Florida). I don't consider myself very religious (which is bad) but being very liberal, i think their camps are something where sane parents (far away religious) would never allow their kids to attend (if they come to know their reality).
