Night and day, I continually sing the Glorious Praises of the Guru !
To me this means, your 'amritvela' + my '0601am - 0159am'.
it is suppose to remain unanswered by us anyway..

You have unknowlingly answerd my question....! :umm:

All Time is 'amritvela', but for those who dont have all this time, the Guru out of His Mercy set aside a time when you can 'make your beggings' at The Alighty Creator's door, to get this all the time 'amritvela'. Confused now ? :D

no,

dhin raathee aaraadhuhu piaaro nimukh n keejai teelaa

Worship the Lord in adoration, day and night, O my dear - do not delay for a moment.

pg 498

you also have to understand what "worshipping the lord" means

its not always singing gurbani.. but it involves remembering God.. respect and love for god's creation..

Amritvela

pg 305

fir churrai dhivus gurubaanee gaavai behadhiaa outhadhiaa har naam dhiaavai

Then, at the rising of the sun, he is to sing Gurbani; whether sitting down or standing up, he is to meditate on the Lord's Name.

not precisely

amritvela trains you to "worship" the lord day and night.

reading and understanding gurbani at amrit vela enables you to love and adore god's creation and remember God all day and night..

Okay......if one first does 'amritvela' and then gets on to doing it 'day and night', when do you sleep then ? Please dont tell me now, that our Gurus visiting our planet over five hundred years ago, never ever went to bed ! :umm:

one sleeps and still adores God..

oothuth baithuth sovuth jaaguth har dhiaaeeai sugul avurudhaa jeeo

While standing and sitting, while sleeping and while awake, meditate on the Lord, all your life. ||1||

---

naam ras jo jun thriputhaanae

Those who are satisfied by the essence of the Naam

mun thun naamehi naam sumaanae

their minds and bodies are drenched with the Naam

oothuth baithuth sovuth naam

While standing up, sitting down and sleeping, the Naam,

kuhu naanuk jun kai sudh kaam

says Nanak, is forever the occupation of God's humble servant. ||6||
