Khalistan - Is It Really That Attractive An Option?

At the moment we are in such a mess in Punjab as never before.

Following issues haunt us daily :

1)Baahmanvaadi forces like RSS trying finish Sikhism both from within and outside.

2)Deravaad (which is also a trick by the baahmanvaadi forces to finish Sikhism)

3)Nashay (every third person is Punjab is taking drugs..another way to make Sikh kaum slaves because gulaams dont and cant think about freedom)

4)Porn and Lachar songs : If the Sikh youth is hooked to them they will be completely cut off from Gurmat.Sikh youth are being fed with these on a daily basis.If some one is shown something daily then impressionable young minds are bound to be affected by this.Most of the programs and songs in the media in Punjab are against Gurmat and makes young Sikhs "hate" their original culture and religion.

5)Sikh farmers not getting the due payment for their produce.This will make them look towards Delhiand then various political parties can exploit their sentiments on this issue in various elections.

6)Punjab's resources being still robbed.Bhakra Dam should be enough to cater for the electricity needs of whole Punjab but instead the electricity is being sent to other states including Delhi whereas the Punjab govt is wasting money on building thermal plants for Punjab's electricity needs.However most of these projects are only on paper as construction on none of them have actually started.

7)Caste divisions : Although Sikhism does not believe in castes but this issue is being repeatedly fanned in Punjab by successive govts for their own ulterior motives but to the detriment of Punjab and the Sikh nation.

8)Dasam Granth(Pro and Anti).This issue is further dividing the remaining Sikhs.

9)Un controlled influx of migrant labour particularly from UP & Bihar.This is damaging the social,economic and religious fabric of Punjab.The migrant labour which runs into lakhs have had a negative effect on Punjab.

We can not think of Khalistan till serious concrete solutions are found for the above problems and it is not easy to do so.

Merely raising slogans of Khalistan will get us no where .

I think we should make Punjab a better state first then consider turning it into a country. the Punjab gov't seriously need to think of ways to lower the use of drugs/alcohol which are main concerns that are responsible for diverting the youth from education, hard work, and Sikhi.

I think Khalistan would be a disaster if the youth don’t pull their act together and keep doing what they are doing now. by this I mean that today’s youth surely go to colleges but many just pass by cheating or bribing and they don’t learn a thing rather go on awara girdi, drinking etc. (both boys and girls). I hope at least the people of Punjab wake up and turn their kids to hard work as once Punjabis did so their future could be secured because for how long would the NRIs support them and there is only so much of farm land they can sell to pay for their expenses. ( I know this doesn’t apply to everyone but it does to majority).

Another thing, the gov’t would also need to get a grip on corruption…

I know that the central gov’t plays a large part in the situation in which Punjab is today but Punjab gov’t should take some responsibility…

If these things don’t change I don’t think there is a point in having Khalistan, if it’s going to be like a place where we already live or maybe even worse because we border Pakistan and I know they will surely try to stir up problems as in Kashmir… I guess maybe that’s why they support Khalistan.

I some how dont feel We are ready to take over as yet, Caste System and greed is coming bak + we already have kinda lost 1 Takhat ( which is in Pakistan) and i dont think it good idea to lose more.

applogies if i hurted anyone feeling ><, i am on mix feeling about Khalistan, Ofcourse there are so many + points, but they will come at a heavy cost.

We have no hope till Badal/BJP dal,Congress and the badal supported SGPC remain in Punjab.

The first step should be get rid of badal supported SGPC but at the same time we should be vigilant of Sarna (who presented siropa to the wards of Lala Jagat Narain and tried to hobnob with Sauda Saadh Sirsa dera during Sikh-Dera vivaadh),Amrinder Singh,Rajendar Kaur Bhattal(under both of who's leadership Congress took support of Anti Sikh Sirsa dera).These people are trying to interfere in SGPC.At the same time other groups like Akali Dal(Longowal) and Barnala group seem to have found a new life and are ready to cash in to the anti badal sentiments of Sikhs.Can we forget baranala's role in Operation Black Thunder in which we lost many of our Kharkoo veers including Bhai Surjit Singh Penta and Bhai Kaaraj Singh Thanday besides other antic Sikh acts of barnala family.

Actually the memory of people in Punjab particularly the jatt supporters of badal dal and congress is short.If they feel badal is a gadaar they immediately switch over to Congress as an alternative without carefully analysing it's role towards the Sikhs in the past as well as the dera issue.

The first step should be to support third party supported Panthic candidates for SGPC.Sikhs living abroad should ask their relatives in Punjab to vote for third party supported candidates (like those supported by Akali Dal Panch pradhani or Khalsa Action Committee or Akali Dal Mann)in the coming SGPC elections.This will be the first step towards finishing derawaad in Punjab.

Actually Pakistan never wanted to directly help for the formation of Khalistan but they did so keeping in mind Kashmir.Pakistan knows that if Khalistan is formed the Sikhs will demand direct control of their Gurdwara's in Pakistan.

Moreover after 9/11 the situation in the world has changed to the detriment of the Sikhs.
