Dear Sadh Sangat Ji,

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh !!

The conflict in Pakistan's tribal and border areas between the Pakistani Army

and the Taliban insurgents, has forced many civilians to seek shelter in the

safety of nearby cities.

Earlier in 2009 the Hindu and Sikh refugees from the Swat region of Pakistan

took refuge in Panja Sahib Gurdwara, Hasan Abdal.

Khalsa Aid provided humanitarian assistance to the nearly 3000 men, women and

children.

Khalsa Aid received an e mail from Sant Singh ( member of Pakistan Gurdwara

Parbandak Committee ) last week requesting humanitarian relief for the 150 Sikh

refugee families temporarily housed in Bhai Joga Singh Gurdwara, Peshawar. The

temperature has dropped dramatically and the need for blankets was a priority.

The local Khalsa Aid volunteer ,Tahir Mahmood , travelled from Islamabad to

Peshawar to coordinate the relief supplies with Sant Singh as a matter of

urgency.

On Sunday 10th Dec 2010 the Khalsa Aid team in Pakistan delivered blankets,

food rations and much needed medicines to the Committee of the Bhai Joga Singh

Gurdwara. The cold weather will continue to pose a challenge for the refugees,

we will continue to monitor the situation and provide whatever is needed.

We operate thanks to YOUR GENEROSITY , please donate so that we can continue to

provide relief around the world.
