Four charged with Huddersfield shopkeeper's murder

A man and three teenagers have been charged with murdering a Huddersfield shopkeeper who was attacked during a robbery at his store.

Muawaz Khalid, 20, and three 17-year-old boys are due to appear before the town's magistrates later.

They are accused of the murder and robbery of Gurmail Singh, 63, who was attacked with a weapon at the shop in Cowcliffe on 20 February.

Mr Singh suffered serious head injuries and died in hospital the next morning.

On Tuesday, a 17-year-old boy appeared in court accused of robbing Mr Singh's store two days before the fatal attack.

He was remanded in custody.

Could this be a religious attack on a Sikh from Muslims, the police will not probably try and prosecute the individual based on this even if there is evidence, does anyone know the motive, I bet if the shopkeeper were Muslim he would not have been attacked, therefore this is probably a religious hate crime. The BBC article states he was attacked two days before, does anyone here know more on this incident?

I remember reading another article about a Sikh shopkeeper recently who was attacked recently, and had head injuries but did not goto hospital but died the next morning due to untreated injuries does anyone here have the link for that?
