hi all, i have heard of (but not actually seen with my own eyes) a system in some gurdwaras that displays in english whatever the person is saying or singing like shabad or hymns,

im sure some of you will have seen this system and my question is how does it work?

is it preloaded with the translation in english and just plays this a bit similar to karaoke?

or is it voice recognition technology with built in translator?

i dont know anything about the system but i find it hard to believe that their can be voice recognition technology so sophisticated and available to the general public at a reasonable price.

thanks for all you help.

Please show some respect while you post on SikhSangat.

whatever the person is saying or singing like shabad or hymns,

That service is called "SikhiToTheMax" this software is pre-loaded with PowerPoint translations, and you have to manually select the Shabad/Gurbanee Paath, and a sevadaar (volunteer) changes the powerpoint slides.

Its not voice recognition technology.

There was no disrespect on your initial post :) Singh# probably mis-understood your post.

I believe that you are talking about SikhiToTheMax software. You can download it from link provided by singhtah. In Gurdwara Sahib it is all done manually. There is always a volunteer who operate laptop attached to the projector :)
