what if a familymember...amritdhari and way older than you, never thinks good of u.....A close relative whom you always looked up but u got backstabbed..

do u have to keep talking to them??? Out of respect, because he/she is older......?

In the same boat, know exactly what you mean.

Best thing to do is keep your distance, talk to them only when needed.

Treat them with common courtesy as you would in general with anybody else.

There is one specific Gurbani quote to back that up but cant remember the exact line.

I only remember the english meaning, Guru Jee explains to us that anyone who doesn't have our best interest at heart you should stay clear from that person.

At the same time Guru Jee explains to us that you shouldn't break anyones heart, treat everyone with pyaar.

So there's no need to be rude towards them, just stay clear from that person.

It's a really hard thing to do, we should try to not think of them as a bad person, but instead we should think of them as a potenially good person who is trying to find their way.
