My wife is pregnant and has been advised to have folic acid. The tablets she has been advised to take contain fish oil. Does anyone know of any other tablets or vitamins that dont have any meat products in?

This is also the case with baby milk. Majority of fish contained, does anyone know of any alternative?

Thanks

If you are from Uk get Pregnacare Original from Vitabiotics available from most stores which are suitable for vegetarians and contain no fish products. But not the Pregnacare Plus tablets which do contain fish oil.

Baby milks by Sma are suitable for vegatarians and fish free - applies to powders only not ready to feed tetra packs.

Cow and gate /milupa aptamil/hipp organic all contain fish.

Hope this helps. :cool2:

The best person to ask about this is ur doctor, explain that u dont eat meat, eggs and they will see if there is an alternative.

If the doctor is of no help as they are usually very busy and expect the patient do go and do their own research after instructing them to take so and so supplements, then I advise you see a good pharmacist at your nearest pharmacy, or of ur choice. Pharmacists are there to help, and are always available behind the counters, so anything you need help with they are there to help.

This may help but ask your doctor again about the extra folic acid in ur wife's diet.
