Is Khalsa allowed to rule? What is Guru Maharaj's thoughts concerning this?

Gurbani states - Raj Na Chao.......Raj is like a little chrismas present infront of the Guru Khalsa only if the Panth follows the teachings of Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Sahib Ji......If you look at the Sikh history post Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji you see that the Panth followed the Guru's instructions and remained united and followed its martial warrior path. You also see that all Sikhs were nitnemi and rehatvan with great ideals. Hence the Khalsa flag remained on the red fort of delhi on numerous occasions. Then Maharja Ranjit Singh came aswell who's raj was unbreakable.

However as the Sikhs became pandits and started to follow the brahmin lifestyle you see the annexation of the raj and the downfall of the Sikh panth.....Sant Jarnail Singh Ji revived the Khalsa traditions but the majority of punjab Sikhs never supported him because they themselves were poor in gursikhijeevan hence the chance for Khalsa Raj was lost in the 80's. Today you can see that the Sikh institutions themselves are eroding Sikhism and the so called Akali regime in Punjab is itself severely damaging the Sikh faith. I cant see in my life time there being a Khalsa Raj as the majority of Sikhs look like and imitate jazzy b......Today people say that there are so many threats to the Khalsa..........., this is like 1% of the hardships the Sikhs went thru during the times of the Moghul Empire and yet they came out victorious.......No there are no threats only you yourself are responsible for destroying your own faith and hence the downfall of your community. A cigarette smoker can offer you a cigarette but only you yourself decide to put it in your.

Bhai Saib Randhir Singh Ji on the Sikh freedom struggle:

"In our history the great heroes of the Sikh Panth have already set many noble examples for us and we have to abide by those. Our aim is not to seek political power but to eliminate slavery, and despotism. Swarajya for us does not mean capturing power and enjoying the luxury of high living, but to establish the rule of dharma, righteousness in all its aspects, we must remain free from the lust for power. This is the great lesson our Saviour Guru Gobind Singh taught us.

Even if we have our own rule, we are never going to submit to the rule based on injustice and discrimination. Any Government, native or foreign, which tries to suppress our legitimate demands, and perpetrates tyranny and oppression, and causes injury to our religious sentiments, will have to face our opposition, and by the help of God we will uproot it. On seeing humanity living in peace and happiness, the Sikh should feel happy. On seeing humanity in sorrow and suffering the Sikh should be grieved. But whatever service we do to humanity or our country, it should be done under sublime inspiration and noble principles of Gurmat (Sikh Philosophy). The Light we received from our true devotion to God and the Guru should be the guiding principle of our fight for righteousness. A service of humanity done under this sublime inspiration of the Guru would be the true service of humanity. The love for God can thereby be the sole guiding motive for service and love for humanity. Remember the great ideal of the Guru:

I seek not kingdom, I seek not salvation, I seek the love of His lotus feet."

Absolutely awesome. THIS is what Khalsa Raaj should be. Not an all-conquering army putting non-Sikhs to the sword as some are secretly hoping.

So these are the words of Bhai Randhir Singh? I must get a hold of more of their work ---- sounds like they know the score!

This extract is from Bhai Sahib's Autobiography (English translation of Jail Chittia). Free download from Amazon. Very inspiring, strongly recommend. He wrote loads of other books as well on Sikh theology, spirituality etc.

Definetly agree 100% Bhai Randhir Singh jis autobiography is an incredible book indeed....Khalsa raj will happen....we just need to rise at amrit vela and do naam abhiyaas....Bhai Rama Singh ji's book is a must read.He really explains in detail about khalsa raj..btw i'm from canada and was wondering if anyone knows where i cam get the full version of sau sakhi.

I'd heard the name 'Bhai Randhir Singh' used in various discussions since joining the site but never came across their work prior to the quote a few posts above. Looks like some much needed catch-up reading is required!

Same here. I haven't read much about Bhai Sahib other than what I've read on here.

Can anyone recommend any books?
