This is going to sound bitter and most likely damning and I really do not want your sympathy and nor am I a pessimist. But, the disunity of Sikhs will probably be the end of Sikhi. I have a friend who is poor and not a resident of the country which we live in. So what do people of the local Sikh community do? They decide that just because the family does not have residence:

1.) They should be kicked out of work.

2.) Kicked out of the Gurudwara.

3.) Rumours and slander should be spread about them.

4.) Make their lives as hard as possible.

I have even seen amritdharis doing this!!!!!!!!!!

Whilst in other communities, from my experience, its the other way around. On one hand for whatever damn reason, the Guru is not listening to this family's prayers. In India they don't even have a house or any family they go back they die. And it looks like they will go back and on the other hand the mother******* <banned word filter activated> community is dead-set against them. When these individuals leave the panth, we hanker on about "you have to be strong to be a Sikh" or try bringing them back but do we ever blame the right people?

So one way or another crying over Khalistan, Rajoana and panthic matters will not help us. It will probably destroy us. When Sikhs are betraying Sikhs why do we prefer different treatments from others? Now it seems that just because the Guru for whatever reason does not listen to ardassa, local Sikhs think they have the right to kick people out of gurughars. If this family go to the gurudwara people give them the "look." Personally speaking after seeing such disgusting behaviour I have left the Gurudwara. Whats the point of going when no one focuses on the Guru but poverty stricken unfortunates. Afterwards committees get in fights "oh u made them leave," "u did" old idiots have their beards ripped out, women abuse and swords are drawn, ears are hacked off. Sheer drama from the very people who think they are kings of the world.The family itself has left the gurughar and their faith in the Guru is just about gone, 90% is gone and only 10% remains and even that is decreasing day by day. This sheer stupidness of our community is going to make us become only a memory in textbooks.

Sikhi can never be stopped Paji. Where problems begin for others, that's where Sikhi comes in with the solution. Certain crooked individuals you refer to are not Amritdhari but are patit. Sehajdhari are slow adopters and distinct from patits ... but patits who have previously pataken of Amrit should not be allowed to discolour your view of the Khalsa Panth. Do your best in whatever capacity you can. Challenge callous behaviour by others. Speak to Sangat who are like minded with you. Look at this forum - we all have different viewpoints - but deep down we know the majority want Sarbat dha Bhalla and Chardi Kallah for Sikhi. Similarly, those GurSikhs who encouraged your Sikhi will support your efforts to support this family.

If you can come up with a genuine charitable organisation that is open to probity and well known for assisting Sikhs and others in need, then I am sure your plea can raise additional funds to assist this family and others (who need not necassarily be Sikh). That's the power of Sikhi - we have the power and ability within ourselves to assist others, if we are so minded to follow Gurbani. Your post will achieve a positive end result brother so don't give up hope and know that you as a GurSikh have the ability to be part of the solution.

13 Mirch* You have to understand, being sikh doesnt automaticly make you a decent person, far from it, we are all human, and
prone to the impediment of Maya, I have talked about it before, about what Guru Shaib has said about what we humans are without Naam, mere thives
because we use these senses for evil, eyes to lust, ears to listen peoples chugli, the skin to indulge in pleasures, the mouth to speak hate and
ninda and smell traped in delicacies.

Read this shabad about the state of the world from Guru Arjan Dev Jee

nainahu needh par dhrisatt vikaar |

The eyes are asleep in corruption, gazing upon the beauty of another.

sravan soeae sun nindh veechaar |

The ears are asleep, listening to slanderous stories.

rasanaa soee lobh meethai saadh |

The tongue is asleep, in its desire for sweet flavors.

man soeiaa maaeiaa bisamaadh |1|

The mind is asleep, fascinated by Maya. ||1||

Those who remain awake in this house are very rare;

saabath vasath ouhu apanee lehai |1| rehaao |

by doing so, they receive the whole thing. ||1||Pause||

sagal sehaelee apanai ras maathee |

All of my companions are intoxicated with their sensory pleasures;

grih apunae kee khabar n jaathee |

they do not know how to guard their own home.

The five thieves have plundered them;

the thugs descend upon the unguarded village. ||2||

Our mothers and fathers cannot save us from them;

oun thae raakhai meeth n bhaaee |

friends and brothers cannot protect us from them

they cannot be restrained by wealth or cleverness.

Only through the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, can those villains be brought under control. ||3||

Im afraid to say that most of the world, bar a few people are-not under the control of the Punj Choor, the most upsetting thing is we don’t
even know it, we have, from such a young age been this way, it has become a part of their psyche.

So don’t be so harsh on people, this is not the way we have been taught to navigate the world, only through patience, compassion and tolerance
will we be able to change minds, let’s be the ones who have conquered Maya 1st then look to change others.

I’ll address it now because I think it will be brought up, Yes if we have a moral stance which falls with what Gurbani says, we should
speak up, but maya being what it is we have no idea if or when we might fall in to ego so tread carefully. I’ve heard stories of Sants who done Ardass every
day to keep them safe from Hankaar because there sangat was growing and so many people looked up to them, that they were afraid of losing Vaheguru by making even 1 mistake.
