ਸਰਬਕਾਲਹੈਿਪਤਾਅਪਾਰਾ॥ਦੇਿਬਕਾਿਲਕਾਮਾਤਹਮਾਰਾ

“He, my lord is father and destroyer of all, the goddess kalika is my mother.” - Guru Gobind Singh ji. 

Can someone please explain this pangti to me? I’m really confused

Guest symbolism

its about symbolism. if you are the son/daughter of Kaal/Kalika its like saying being the child of death and destruction. It uplifts u as you are powerful and can destroy ur addictions, bad habits, and even the big five lust, anger, etc. Also you will be successful in battle. 

It is similar to how in japji sahib, guru ji says gurmukh nadang gurmukh vedang ...gur eeshar, gur gorakh, brahma gur, parbhati mai

This does not mean that we have made  the Vedas, Brahma or 'Gorakh or Parbhati Maa our guru. 

it means our guru is as powerful as those gods. Guru ji saying, you don't need to worship all these different gods, One god is as powerful as all these.
