We always say "Nanak naam chardikala, tere bhaane sarbat da bhala". We just say it, but never pay attention to what it really means. Obviously it has more than one and deep meaning. Everyone according to their level conceives it. "Nanak Naam Chardikala" - Guru Nanak Sahib ji ne jehra naam/shabad dita hai "waheguru" ya jiwein aapan kehnde han "Dhan Guru Nanak Tuhin Nirankar", onu japan de naal hamesha chardikala rehndi hai, kyonki "waheguru" naam ta aap chardikala da saroop hai ate saareya nu chardikala bakhshan wala hai. "Tere Bhaane sarbat da bhala"- sareeyan da bhala howe, par howe tere bhaane vich, teri raza vich, jiwein tu chaunda hai. Bhul chuk maaf Sanagat plea…

Sangat Ji, we all are rogi, physically or mentally, in some way or other and look for medication outside when we have the best medication, easily available which is "charan-dhoorh". The only requirement is the faith - shardha. It can change & erase bad karams and form good ones. Let's share stories where people got cured by charan-dhoorh, so that shardha develops in our minds too.

Once there was a beautiful deer who spent each day prancing in the woods. Each day the deer noticed a wonderful smell. It smelt better than rain, it smelt better than flowers, in fact thought the deer, "I have never smelled anything so enchantingly wonderful! I wonder where that smell is coming from?!" She began to sniff around, "Sniff, sniff. Maybe this perfume is coming from inside the tree!" She ran over to the tree, but it just smelt like a normal tree. The deer tried everything, she chased and smelled everything she could find, "Is it coming from the butterflies?....hmmmm no not from them. I wonder if it's coming from the robin!....not there either. I doubt it but i…

Why is it written ੴ? Is the numeral Ik used because you can't mistranslate it? It is simply 1. Guru Nanak is telling us everything is one. Why does the oora have a long hora like shape on? Why isn't the rest of oankaar written?

http://jatt.com/legends/udham.singh.asp Shaheed Udham Singh Written by Hardial Singh Bains Who was Udham Singh? A patriot from the Punjab, Udham Singh came to London in the 1930s as a fighter against foreign colonial rule in India. British rule was one of the darkest eras in the history of our people. Many crimes and atrocities were committed, but one that stood out in particular was the massacre of innocent, unarmed civilians at Jallianwalla Bagh in Amritsar in 1919. The British ruling circles, then as now the self proclaimed upholders of civilisation, refused to punish those guilty of this heinous crime, and in fact heaped public honours upon them. Accounted for b…

Sat sree akaal I am trying to learn some Punjabi so I can better understand Gurbani and communicate with those in Gurdwara who speak little or no English. I recently ordered http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Panjabi-Two-Audio-CDs/dp/0071766022/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1386605716&sr=8-5&keywords=teach+yourself+complete+panjabi'>Teach Yourself: Complete Panjabi but I am aware I'll later on need some additional book or program to help me get to the next level, along with trying to speak Panjabi with native speakers on a regular basis. For anyone on here who's taught themselves Punjabi, or if anyone here is a teacher of the language, I would like some suggestions…
