Waheguru ji ka khalsa , Waheguru ji ki Fateh, Sangat ji, I am going through tough times in my life and is turning towards Gurbani recently. I have been reading bani since childhood but not so much with interest. I am not a gursikh as of now but my inclination towards become one is getting strong day by day. Confident, I would reach there someday. I am looking for fellow sangat in the same boat as me or have been in the same shoes at some point in there life, to share discuss and engage and even guide ourselves to the Guru Sahib's way. I am located in Alberta Canada. Any recommended ways that I could find sangat to support, help…

Maya Vatnaa?
by Guest confuseduk- 6 replies

To the brave Singh's and Kaur's, My first question is that i've gone to many weddings and never understood the relevance of a "maya vatna" or "mayan". They sing songs and apply haldi or whatever to the skin but isn't maya a sin, so <banned word filter activated> are they doing? My second question is often I hear at akand paaths and weddings that this person did "dus pound haajare kithee" forgive my spelling. But whats the point in announcing how much someone has donated? Is it a competition? are they trying to buy their way into such kand? I just don't understand Thanks in advance.

Sikh Professor teaches Math
by Guest jigsaw_puzzled_singh- 6 replies

The UK Sikh Organisations expressed outrage today after it was found that there exists a Sikh professor at a college in the East Midlands that teaches maths despite the fact that he himself is not an equation, fraction nor an algorithm. One Sikh moderator, a CHforce from the West Midlands was outraged saying it "was absolutely disgusting" adding that "how can someone that has never been a prime number or a coefficient in a differential geometry correlation possible be in a position to teach it ?". Chforce added that the Sikh professor could much better use his time by displaying much needed hateful hate towards muslims, especially the one's that have the audactity to brea…

I have a friend who once cried to me asking me what happened to her because she used to wake up at around 3 a.m. everyday then did her nitnem with her dad also did Sukhmani Sahib. But now all of a sudden, she has lost her routine. She said that she wakes up almost every morning but doesn't have the udham to get out of bed. She has lost her nitnem. She tells herself that she'll do it the next day but it never happens and it goes on like this everyday. She also use to wear dastaar but now she gave up on that too. I had no answer to that. And she asked me any tips to reduce sleep. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I am a birthday freak, I love celebrating birthdays. Usually I try to do something special for my parents and my relatives on their birthdays and just make a huge deal of celebrating their special day. But rarely we do anything for my birthday, mostly because of its timing i guess and the fact whenever we have planned a big event for me something bad happened and we have had to cancel. So I have settled for always buying and wearing a new dress for my birthday. This year I want to do something more. I am going to bring in my birthday by doing Simran/Path all night and then as soon as morning hits make Parsad and head to the …

WaheguruujeekakhalsaWaheguruujeekeefateh Is anyone on here a Sevadaar or know the Sevadaars of Boss Stall UK? I have ordered a product and am wondering if they check their orders regularly? If I am not mistaken my understanding is that they are sevadaars and might be very busy. I am curious if anyone here knows if they regularly check their product orders online? I am probably being too quick, but I placed an order about 10 days ago, and it is still in 'processing'. I was hoping a Boss sevadaar gets a look at this message on this board, or if someone who is in contact would them would let them know kindly. I emailed them recently as well, but havnt received an email…

I have always got told that when someone takes Amrit all their sins are erased. So if a person has done seva and kamaye (earned spiritual wealth) is that also erased after you have taken Amrit? Or dose you kameye stay with you and only your sins are erased?

WJKK WJKF Was wondering if anyone here knows where I can get a Bana (like a plain blue kameez with pajammi trouser) made preferably in the West Midlands area. I am unable to go India to get it made (as that’s where most people get it from) so please suggest a store that you have tried where the material is of good quality and the tailor does a good job. Thankyou! S Kaur

“Unlucky” Person
by Guest HELP- 6 replies

There is this boy who i go to school with. We have known each other for many years. We have most of our lessons together; we even travel to school on the train together and spend our breaks and lunch times together. But for the past few months I have realised that he has been giving me “bad” luck. If I say something to him about my life or what I am going to do, he pulls the face of “what are you going on about” and then what I was aiming for never happens. I have seen this on many occasions. I know as Sikhs we don’t believe in this but its true!! He eats meat next to me on the train and bus, even though I told him we don’t eat meat. He said it’s stupid. He always…
