Need Help Delhi

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh Dear Sangat, is there anyone in Delhi who can please help me, I need some moral and translation support. I'm not from a sikh family. Following a spiritual calling I became a sikh and I've faced extreme harassment and bullying from "family" members. I currently have no choice but to put up with having to reside in their home as I'm transitioning between careers and have nowhere else to go. Also I'm a native English speaker and do my best to speak hindi/punjabi, but quite honestly my broken punjabi leads me to being treated either suspiciously or condescendingly at any gurdwara. Mostly people I come across are rich stuck up "…

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Sangat Ji daas had an argument with another Singh who is a Granthi Singh at a Bhagat Ravidass Gurdwara. He was saying according to Sukhmani Sahib salok Sat Purakh jin janneya Satgur Tis Ka Nao...that those who have known the Sat Purakh is also the Satguru and thus he was saying bhagat Ravidass Ji is also Satguru.. Now I have no problem considering that Bhagat Ravidass Jis bani is equal to Guru but I don't think we should label him as The Guru.. Moving forward...I argued that Gurbani mentions Satgur baajoh Gur nahi koi...and that since he's baptized he should follow what the 5 Singhs told him and only accept Guru Granth Sahib…

Taksal Maryada - Amrit Sanchar

Greetings, I'm a british Sikh living in the states and want to come back into Sikhi. I plan on doing this when I return home to the UK. My question is I know I am going to have to tell my short commings to the Panj but I am wondering in Taksal maryada do you do your confession alone with the Panj or are all the others wanting to take amrit or do pesh in the same room as well? Second question. Does Taksal use larrivar saroop? Lastly, after amrit is made does only one or two Panj bestow the amrit ie face, eyes and head or do each do it once for every person. From what I read in Taksal maryada it seems as if its one or two people and not all 5. Please note I'm not wanti…

Hi I question if I took amrit when I was 12 or 13 and did bunch of bajjer kurehit without knowing anything about sikhi in my young years but now in my 20s I realized that I shouldnt have done some of that stuff, like I did drugs, masturbation, watch bad stuff, ate eggs/ meats. at the age I did not know about all this as I never learned should I now pesh to the punj pyare or retake amrit without asking the punj but just retaking amrit. all suggestions would be helpful thank you for the kindness

Wjkk wjkf. Daas has comitted a kurehit and had a physical relationship before marriage. I am not ready to pesh at this moment. My question is - Is it ok to keep wearing my kakkars regularly and still following my rehit or do I have to pesh immediately? I would like to wait until I go to India in a few months and pesh there as where I live there is not many amrit sanchars. Bhul Chuk Maaf. Wjkk wjkf.

Want to read bani, seeing some melech split each word and line as his black atma pleases pisses me off. Any way to read actual bani online i.e original form a discussion Sikhs should not even be having. Ram Rai was excommunicated by his own father, for changing one word. This is full 3 granth of Gurh Sahib that being split up. ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂਜੀਕਾਖਾਲਸਾ।।ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂਜੀਕੀਫਤਹਿ।।

Why Do We Jap The "word" Waheguru?
by Guest Gupt- 1 reply

Sadh Sangat Ji, Why do we Jap (recite) Waheguru, as in the word Waheguru? Where does this come from? I'm very limited in my knowledge, i know WaheGuru Gurmantar Hai Jupp Haumai Khoee But does this mean literally the word Waheguru is the Gurmantar i.e. we repeat the word Waheguru, or is it more the meaning of the word Waheguru is the Gurmantar i.e. praising God / Guru Ji, saying "Guru Ji is Waho!" is our Gurmantar instead of a ritualistic repetition of a word? I know in Gurbani we don't take things at face value and that things mean more, have a deeper meaning so this is where this thought process has come from. Views, explainations, insights appreciated!

Seva Help

A sister needs help, hers her question: I am a Sikh and I deeply enjoy doing seva. I feel incomplete without doing seva atleast once a week at the Gurdwara, ( I would do more but I can't drive). Sadly because I can't drive, I can't do any other form of community service besides seva and a couple of people suggested that I get a community service paper signed by the people at our Gurdwara. I don't want to get the paper signed because I feel guilty.( I need it for college ) .... my mom said that it was ok to get it signed because God knows that I did seva out of dedication, love, and faith. Yet, I feel super guilty. Should I get a paper signed stating I did community servi…

Sukhmani Sahib In House
by Guest Kaur- 1 reply

Hi I am hoping to hold a Sukhmani Sahib paath at our new house soon to receive Guru Ji's blessings. I have never done this before and so have a few etiquette-related queries. I would be grateful if anyone has the answers or could point me in the right direction. How is the SGGS Ji brought to and taken from the house? Does someone from the house need to carry the SGGS Ji or will the Granthi Ji do this? What rules are they regarding having Guru Ji in the house? I assume there should be no alcohol/meat/eggs in the house and that the house should be clean. As for the langar and Karah prashad, should this be cooked in the house or in the Gurdwara and then brought ove…
